Started off with chips and salsa and about every other chip was stale. Salsa amazing. Then the food came. 2 soft tacos beans and rice. Tacos were so greasy they soaked the beans and rice. Daughter couldn't even eat them. The meat Hamburger tasted like it came out of a can. Awful seasoned flavor. Then on to my sons chimy changa barely any cheese on top and also made with the very greasy Hamburger that also soaked his plate with grease. Three bites and he couldn't even eat any more. Next we have the chicken quesadilla the worst of them all. Once my son picked it up water POURED out of it soaking his plate I made a complaint a d the waiter said the chicken is boiled. Yes but I've never had so much water come out of one of mine. It's good so eat it he said. Huge chunks of u seasoned chicken with a glob of cheese. It also was so awful. My cardne asada tacos were delish tho. I paid my almost 80 bill and left so upset. No adjustments were made to my bill. No other thing to eat was offered. It was a horrible experience. We go to this place every Sunday without fail and there is nothing bad about this place. Everything that we have ordered from this place is simply amazing. If you love taco's then you need to get Barbacoa tacos as they are simply amazing and you can get them either in a soft or hard shell. And the chilaquiles are amazing as well but they are hot so be prepared for that. And it is also VERY affordable and there's a grocery store attached and if you wanted to get some food to go I would suggest getting their tamales as they are awesome as well.. read more

Small hole in the wall type Mexican spot with a teeny weeny grocery inside. This place has been around for years which is a good sign. The food is scratch made and you can tell by the taste. I always order the cheese and onion enchiladas and the mish mash dip. The enchiladas are soooo good. Smothered in sauce and cheese. The flavor is deep, complex and authentic. The chips are made fresh daily. They are good, but definitely greasy The salsa is spicy but tasty as well. This place is an oldy but a goody. I'll certainly be back. read more

LOVE THIS RESTAURANT! Fort Wayne Family owned founded by brothers from Nuevo León MX in the 70s. Best menudo, tamales and barbacoa! They have a kids friendly menu with chicken tenders and cheeseburgers too. I recommend trying their caldo de res on a rainy day and a menudo when ur hung over. Be sure to order tamales early on the weekends bc they go fast and sell by the doz! If you wanna eat local this is the spot. They make their own corn tortilla products! If you want great Mexican food this is the place...to skip. We stood around being ignored for ten minutes before walking out. Racism? There were several Hispanic looking families being served. The ambiance may seem run down to most but I find it interestingly natural for a Mexican restaurant. The real truth of the place is that I think it is the best authentic Mexican food in town. Service for me is genuine and as quick as the cooks can make it, it is served. This is about the most authetc mexican resturaunt in Fort Wayne. The mexicans have owned and operate it for years, and is known as one of their hangouts. Alothough rich "gringos" are welcome, and will not be descriminated against. I noticed that the food critic "on the menue", managed to finally revue it, This was very nice of him, since it has been there for about 30 ? years. That was about the time I posted the picutes of Lrado on yelp. I will accept the food critics description of the service and quality of the food. Over the years that I have eaten there, a few times. Since this town is known as "the city of resturaunts". With lots of different places to go. This is the part of the review that I feel was left oout. I tend to think , the most important of the dinning experience. The neighborhood and surounding area! Boarded up houses andg the side of theresturaunt, with run down houses, surounding the place. I would not park my car behind or along the streets, or along the front. The parking lot is very small. But I do not think you will get, be a victom of a scraping of your car. And drive away person. I would park across the street, In the large field. If you choise to park in the grocery store lot. Beware , you will walk in front of "the rock bottom" tavern. A notorius hangout for drunks and bikers. When somone hits "the rock bottm". Unless you chose to walk across the street to get there. Least we not forget "the ladies of the night". I went there with my family and honestly it was amazing our waiter Abraham was amazing everything was good. The only thing they messed up was that they gave me beans when I asked for double rice but I didn't mind since their beans are good as well. I lived in Ft Wayne from 1974-1981 and this was my go-to store for chips, salsa and authentic Tex-Mex food and food products. Bennie and his grandson are continuing the tradition of 40+ years of food and service excellence. The restaurant is old, but it is clean and the food is delicious. There is parking on the side and a few spots in the front. I stop by for lunch or grab a quick carryout whenever I pass through the area. In fact, I make a point to detour from 80/90 just to grab a bag of their chips and a quart or two of their salsa along with the tamales. It's the best I've ever had and Bennie hasn't changed the salsa recipe in years. Why mess with perfection? It's difficult in these economic times for small independently owned family restaurants to compete with fast food and chain restaurants. Try Laredo's..they make all their tortillas and you can even purchase masa to take home and make your own tamales. Take home bags of their homemade chips and some salsa and be prepared to get hooked!
