We both had the senior breakfast and it was very good and the price was very affordable. It was very clean and very retro. Gotta give Tik Tok five stars for being open on Christmas day and letting the three of us sit in a corner with an order of spinach dip & chips and sodas as we opened our Christmas presents. Our server was very accommodating, stopping by often to see if we needed anything, as we flung wrapping paper and bags everywhere (yes, we cleaned up after ourselves). The menu is huge, with a large variety of appetizers, sandwiches, burgers, entrees, salads and desserts, so if you're looking for something to fill your hungry tummy, you'll most likely find it here. Pickings are slim on American Thanksgiving but Tik Tok Restaurant & Bar was open. It's a 24/7 old school diner with pool table and VLTs to waste your money on. They have a second location in town. We dropped in on a slow Thursday evening (8:00pm). Service was okay except they charged $3.00 USD for "the works" on a baked potato. Waitress never mentioned the cost until it showed up on the bill. Ripoff. Menu consists of all day breakfast, sandwiches, burgers and dinners. Wanted to try the prime rib but it's only available on Fridays. - Homemade chili ($7.95 USD bowl) - never received any crackers. Cheese wasn't melted, onions were raw and chili lacked seasoning. - House rib eye ($21.95 USD 8oz) - asked for medium rare, steak came out dry and overcooked. This place puts the dive in Dive Bar! At 4:30 AM it was either here or Denny's and I always want to support the non corporate option. I feared that the location might be a little life-threatening, and it was a pretty sketchy crowd there. Before I even got out of the car, some denizen of the night is trying to bum a smoke from me, luckily, I'm not a smoker. My food came quickly, and my waitress did a fine job, except she wasn't very good at cleaning the tables. I guess at that time of night, or should I say early in the morning, I'm lucky to get any kind of service at all. Went in on a Friday night around 10:30. Place was dead. That should've been our first sign. Ordered some food and a Heineken. Server brought a Hefeweizen. I waited at least ten minutes for her to come back. She had long hair, not tied back, and she did not like it when I pointed out her mistake with the beer order. In fact, she had to tell me she'd worked as a server so long, she knew the difference between a Heineken and a Hef. But she didn't. I ordered a Heineken, she brought a Hef. The cook was slovenly looking. The food sat in the window for a while as our server talked to another server about who would take our table and who would get the tip - as if there would be one. She returned with lukewarm food and announced that she was going on break and the other server would take over. We had to ask for everything you would expect to get on the side, sauces, syrup, dressing. And the food was terrible. I only ate half of it, and hours later I was terribly ill. Did I mention there was no hot water in the bathrooms? To the manager of this place: it's time to clean house. The food was terrible. The service was terrible. The attitude was inexcusable. Where do I begin? Maybe with an overview of the timeline: 9:14pm- Ordered food. Yes all 8 of us 9:38pm- Received all of our food w/ one side dish in a slight error. Server took the plate back to kitchen and had the side dish re-done. When she came back with the entree (plus corrected side dish), the main item got cold. 10:08pm- Finally checked in on us "to see if we need anything else"... eh... we asked for our checks. 10:18pm- Came back with our checks, 3 out of 6 checks had a pricing or some type of error. The checks had to be redone x3. During that one hour time frame, we did not receive refills of our water. Our cups were clearly empty. Two of us got coffee and we had to request a refill. I am not sure if our server was new or if it was a "busy" night for her. It sure didn't seem very busy because of the many empty booths. It was my first time here and the service we received was horrendous. Our server gave us a little bit of an attitude as well towards the end. It really ruined my night. Food was meh. Went to the 82nd location for breakfast today. This place was a favorite of mine when I lived in the Arleta neighborhood years ago but I will never be back after the experience I had today. I ordered the hamburger steak and eggs and coffee. The hostess was very nice and helpful but then the cook came out to talk to me about my order. He started swearing at me about the University of Oregon shirt I was wearing and after he dropped the third f-bomb I got up and left. This occurred on 06/19/2024 at around 10:30 am. The portions of the meals are humongous and beyond fulfilling. The dinner menu offers soup or salad, vegetables, and potatoes (either home cut fries, mashed, or baked). I normally pick the clam chowder for soup, salad, vegetables, and mashed potatoes (or a combination of these for the meals). They are very generous with the portions, so it's worth it! This is a small local bar/restaurant. There's nothing very unique about it except its patrons. Ive been in numerous times and have seen cute groups of college students, to strippers, to gamblers, to junkies, to just about anyone you can imagine. This specific bar is next to a hotel loaded with drug dealers, prostitutes and thugs. The parking lot is in the back and seems very very sketchy to walk from lot to bar. No one in the place was eating, drinking alcohol, or even gambling. They were all just sitting around inside with a few guys smoking out back. UPDATE Second visit (1 star), party of 7: I don't even know where to start. I had the best first experience and everything went out the window the second time. The waitress was clueless the entire time. 1. Every drop of water in the cup was precious that night because we never got refills. 2. The "Dinners" come with a dinner roll. We were asked what type of bread we want and none of us saw a single dinner roll that night. 3. I ordered the 'Blackened Chicken Breast Dinner'. I asked for "the works" on my baked potato to be put on the side, but everything was on the potato. The waitress told me she'll have the kitchen remake (which was fine), but she took my whole plate away. By the time my food came back, the cheese on top of the chicken hardened, the chicken was cold and the poor baked potato looked like they used a spoon to just take the stuff off. When I informed the waitress about my cold dinner, she responded "Well, we had to bring it back to take the stuff off the potato". Like SERIOUSLY? She took notes when we all placed our orders. 4. We sat and waited for the bill for about half an hour. By the time we did get our bill, everyone's bill was wrong. Don't judge this book by its cover. One might assume that because this is a 24-hour joint in a semi sketchy stretch of road, the food is one giant greasy spoon of Sysco products. On the contrary, I was surprised to learn that they take a more homemade approach like roasting their own turkey for the turkey sandwiches, and commissioning someone local to make all of their pies. I think they had an off night when I was there, and I would love to try them again, maybe opting for some of their delicious-looking pancakes rather than the dinner sandwich that I got. Both the protein and the bread in my hot turkey sandwich were extremely dry. For a $1 up-charge, you can get their beer battered fries on the side, rather than the regular "handcut" version. Do this! The regular fries were somewhat gray, burned. and dried out, as if they had been fried in stale oil and sat out for a while. I will pretty much eat anything fried that comes my way, and I could not get those fries down. The beer battered fries are golden and much more fresh. We were here at around 11pm, and the scene was pretty tame--none of the exotic street life that other Yelpers have talked about. Meaning, weighing the high Yelp ratings for this restaurant against the fact that this place is located on 82nd and has a bunch of neon signs for light beer in its window. I think the weight scale I used was busted and it errantly led us to Tik Tok. We walked in on a Saturday morning and it seemed OK, several people were having coffee or eating breakfast at the booths in the front. A young woman behind the counter with long wavy hair looked at us, then with a haughty flip of her hair, walked away to the bar in the back. We saw another guy moving around behind the counter and he pointedly ignored us too. Another guy carrying a tray of dishes and walking toward us also managed to avoid eye contact. I looked over to the bar and saw wavy-haired Wanda looking back at us with an inscrutable expression. JP and I stood there at the entrance for five minutes. An older guy who was sitting at the counter looked at us with a helpless look and shrugged his shoulders. He was in the same boat as us, hoping he might get service too. My brother and I ate here last week and we were both not impressed. Not with the atmosphere, the waitstaff or the food. His steak came rare when he asked for medium, my alfredo was very watered down with very little cream or cheese.
