Just left the store and the lady at the hot food counter was rude. I've been waiting a few minutes to order in front of the order here sign as there were two men in front of me. It's finally my turn and a man walked in behind me and the employee ignores me and goes to start taking his order. I cut her off and said excuse me I was next. She doesn't apologize takes my order (2 asada tacos and 1 tripa taco, with green salsa on the side). Well I get the order walk to my car and there is no green salsa after I asked her for it. Larios Market was recommended to me by a wonderful fellow Yelper. You know who you are. Thank you! I wanted to get guacamole, salsa, and chips for a team potluck lunch. I got rave reviews on these items that they are super good at Larios so here I am to confirm. This market is located at the corner of Barranca Ave and Arrow Highway in Covina. It's actually a meat market, but they sell produce and other food/dry items plus hot foods. It's a very small place with maybe 3-4 tight aisles. I went straight to the refrigeration area. I saw lots of different salsas and a handful of guacamole. At first glance, the appearance of the guac did not look appealing to me. It looked brown and kind of watery at the top. I was hesitant to get them, but since they were recommended, I got 3 of them. Now looking back, I should have only gotten one just to try them. It was not that great IMHO. Maybe they were not made that day and have been hanging around for a day or so. However, the roasted red salsa was really really good... I would highly recommend this one. Pico de gallo was decent. Crab ceviche was just okay... too much of the V8 taste. I ended up buying 6 containers and spent over $50 on guac and salsa. Probably more than I need. I didn't bother with the chips as they look more on the oily side. Anyway, staff was nice and helpful. Check out was fast as it wasn't super busy at the time. Parking is limited. They do have a few tables and stools outside in front of the market for those who want to eat here after their food purchase. I'm not sure if I would come back for the guac, but I may come back for the roasted red salsa and possibly their tacos and burritos. read more

Small market but great bbq meat! The orange chicken is definitely the star of the show. I've gotten the carne asada and beef fajitas but the chicken is what everyone talks about. They have a fridge filled with all these different types of salsa and guacamole. They also have food but I haven't tried it yet. read more

Love Larios meat and have always had pleasant experiences but today that changed. I went in and bought some asada meat only to find that my bag was mainly filled with juice, I weighed it at home and it was well over a half of pound of juice. To make matters worse the service at the register was not the best. The cashier completed my transaction but did not hand me my bag. Instead, I was expected to retrieve it myself, which felt unusual and not very courteous. read more

I really enjoy shopping here for beef and poultry, and I love the specialty ice cream they sell, along with what seem like handmade tortillas. It's my favorite mom-and-pop market. Been coming to Lario's for a few years. Located on the corner of Arrow and Barranca there is a small parking lot. It gets busy on the weekends and holidays well let's just say you better be an early bird or you'll be waiting with a lot of birds trying to get a worm. The Signage on the corner changes by season or the owners humor so it's always a nice read as you go in. The ranchera prepared has been very good. The chicarons are a must have but it can be hit or miss. This is your one spot shop for all grilling meats and chicken. Though I'd like the chicken to be cut a bit thinner. They have vegetables on hand to pair with your asada or meats of choice as well as Salsas, tortillas and beverages. Large gathering and need something else? One of my favorite meat markets for Carne Asada & What they call the "Orange Chicken" !! The chicken is well coated and marinated to perfection ready for grilling. They also have other options that I have not yet explored! The service is fantastic because it is quick, friendly, and they're ready to answer all your questions. You can let them know how many people you're serving and they can recommend the portions. The ambiance is great as well especially from the outside. It is very welcoming with an open parking lot. These chilaquiles are fire!!! I've been to Larios plenty of times. I'm a big fan of the carne asada and the green avocado salsa. I also stop by for my Chiles de arbol or the occasional Mexican coke (IYKYK). For a small store they sure do carry a lot and sometimes it's easier to make a quick store run here rather than a huge grocery store. Anyway... back to the Green Chilaquiles. If you didn't know Larios makes fresh food. Tacos, burritos, tortas, a number of different breakfast items, etc... I finally gave them a try and they did not disappoint! The Green Chilaquiles were not only spicy but delicious. Each tortilla chip perfectly covered in sauce. The portion was very generous. The plate came with eggs (I asked for scrambled), sour cream, rice and beans for about $14. That's a little more than my whole in the walls but hey gotta support small businesses right? I took my food to go but they do have little tables and chairs out front if you choose to enjoy your food fresh. I'm definitely looking forward to my next visit and I can't wait to try something else off the menu :) read more

This is the best place to get your carne asada by far. However, do not forgot anything you buy. A customer told the manager he left some of his order by accident. The manager, without checking the cameras, said he checked the cameras. Why would the manager lie about checking the cameras? It has been a while since I came to Larios Meat Market. I was craving tamales and champurrado, so it was the right time to go! The market is very clean. They have many options of marinated meat, either beef, pork, chicken or seafood. They have a section for ready made food to mention a few;  tacos, Chile relleno, sope, tamales, quesadillas, nachos, burritos, torta and many more. The market has many sections for fresh produce, groceries, frozen food, drinks and even detergents. I ordered; - 2 champurrado, which were  warm and thick chocolate-based delicious beverage. It's a must try! - 2 tamales. 1 chicken and 1 pork  The masa was very flavorful and moist. The filling was the right proportion to masa. - 2 fish tacos. They were okay but not the best fish tacos I tried - 2 cabeza taco The cabeza was very flavorful and juicy - 2 al pastor tacos, they were really delicious. -1 Birria de res plate, comes with rice, beans and salad. The birria was spectacular, well- seasoned and very juicy. The parking lot is very limited, but you can park in the street or across the street in 99c plaza. The service was great and fast. Located on the corner of Arrow Highway and Barranca Avenue is a small family grocery and meat market. Immediately to the right as you enter is the hot deli with cooked food for take-out service. You can buy carnitas by the pound, pork simmering in green chili (Chili Verde), chicharrones (deep-fried pork rinds), soup of the day, rice and beans in small, medium or large styrofoam containers. The butcher has fresh (raw) chicken, shrimp, beef and pork for sale by the pound. The marinated chicken and fajitas are VERY popular and I highly recommend all of it!! On the left side of the store is canned goods, bread, tortillas, dairy products and household cleaning supplies. The rear is produce (fruits and veggies). This place is a hit and miss. I sent my wife to buy 5lbs of carne asada 5 lbs of short ribs and 7lbs of chicken $185 total for this bbq I was having. The meat was such poor quality! The chicken was good but the ribs were all bone it's like she bought a bag of FN bones, the asada very dry when I cooked it. Everyone that had come to the bbq was also displeased with the quality. I could tell the moment that I put it on the grill that the quality of the meat was a very low grade, I am sad to say this is going to be our last trip Larios, I am going to miss their chicken. read more

I was expecting it to just be tacos and burritos, but wow they've got a large selection of hot foods to choose from! I went for the classics: a carne asada burrito and 3 asada tacos. This place is not good. The meats are super dry with limited flavor. They don't provide enough salsa and when I asked for no sour cream on the shrimp tacos they of course doused it in sour cream. The horchata and jamaica are among the worst I've ever had, it's very apparent they are not made fresh and are super watery and from concentrate or something which was insulting.
