Domestic is a bbq spot my husband and I frequent. They always deliver on their food and service. We came here to redeem an offer from the SGV passport: 1 free order of flautas. We've ordered this in the past and it's one of our favorite items to get here. The sweet, smokey brisket rolled in their deep fried tortilla topped with chives is incredibly delicious! I love the way they cut them in halves so we could see the brisket. They're crunchy and crispy, it is one of their best appetizers. As for the cauliflower tacos, they were surprisingly good for a vegan dish. Very flavorful and another item we would reorder on our next visit. We also got their grilled vegetables (asparagus). They were cooked perfectly and I liked the sauce they used. It added a bit of sweetness to it. Domestic offers indoor/outdoor seating, there's a bar, and multiple televisions that broadcast sports. Overall, this is a bbq spot my husband and I will continue to visit and support.

I wanted to like this place since I live close by and eat a lot of bbq. Host was kind of rude, ignored people who walked in. I'm not one to care about service either. I got a lbs of brisket, food itself was great. The portion looked small so I weighed it, they basically scammed me half a portion. Very lame. Ribs were okay, brisket was def better.

Fantastic BBQ and bar! If you are into baseball and smoked meat dishes, this is the place to get it. I was immediately greeted and instructed to self-seat. There's high and low tables, inside and outdoor seating. Service was fantastic end to end. I tried the combo for $27, which comes with 2 meats and one side - I got the brisket, tri tip, and bacon mac and cheese. The combo comes with bread, pickles, bbq sauce, and consume. It's shareable with maybe two people max and was delicious. I also got the half chicken for $12, which was also a 10 out of 10 in presentation and flavor. They have a wide selection of drinks, including beers from local brewery brands. Overall, I'd 100% come back the next time I want BBQ.

Always a great selection of craft beer here

If you're anywhere near Covina and craving barbecue that doesn't require you to balance a tray on a splintery picnic table, Domestic is your move. This isn't a roll of paper towels and a squeeze bottle of sauce on the table kind of BBQ joint. It's a real deal restaurant experience-- casual and fun, but polished enough to feel like an actual night out. They've absolutely earned their reputation as one of the best spots in the area, and the consistency alone deserves a slow clap. the barbecue and sandwiches are always on point, but what I really appreciate is the little creative flexes on the menu like brisket flautas and deviled eggs. There's enough great appetizers to make you consider building a whole meal out of them. Or you can get a ribeye steak. The bar is no afterthought either. The craft beer selection is top tier, and they've got a full bar with genuinely good mixed drinks -- call your shot or pick from their specials. There's a solid patio out front if you want to soak in Old Town Covina, or you can stay inside and enjoy the AC like a civilized person. Service is consistently on point, and I truly can't remember leaving disappointed. It's reliable, it's tasty, and it's the kind of place you confidently drop in the group chat without fear of being blamed later.

I got an offer from inkind app $50 of $100 so decided to try out their family meal and picked their delicious bacon Mac n cheese and garlic fries for the two sides. I thought that it would come with corn bread but they just gave us 4 pieces of Hawaiian bread instead. The server taking my order for pick up was super kind and helped me deciding which flavor sausage and sides. The jalapeno one for sausage is the best even though I haven't tried the other options. The brisket and pulled pork was a tiny bit dry and the ribs see very fatty. But overall what an amazing pretty complete bbq order without all the hard work where you can call and pick up within 30 minutes is amazing. One thing I noticed and didn't realized was on the in kind app when you pay they automatically put $22 down as my tip to server which I might have given a bit less because it was a to go order not dine in. I noticed after paying so didn't bother saying anything or making a big deal since I was already getting $50 bucks off my $100 dollar meal. With tax and $22 tip that I didn't decide it came out to around $$93.28! Here are some pictures of the last minute bbq dinner we ended up enjoying last night.

Domestic (Covina) offers charming, bright service & a comfortable, sleek atmosphere. I ordered the Surf N Turf ($32). It's salad, fries, shrimp scampi, and a USDA prime hand cut steak. Although they overcooked the steak, I still had a pleasant experience. (Quick Note: A 3% Service Charge is automatically added to the bill as "Kitchen Gratuity." Guests can have this charge removed by informing staff.) I arrived at Domestic (Covina) on Sunday (around 11:45AM). There's limited street parking, but Downtown Covina has plentiful public parking at walking distance. I was immediately sat down. There's no wait. Staff (receipt said Juan) is very professional, courteous, and hardworking. Juan commonly used phrases like "Thank you, sir." Juan quickly fetched clean water, and Juan regularly shared a bright smile. Juan regularly checked in on me. When Juan discovered the cook overcooked the steak, Juan quickly offered an "I'm sorry." As mentioned, I ordered the Surf N Turf ($32). The food was served in courses. The Salad w/ Caesar Dressing arrived at four minutes and 30 seconds. The Crispy Fries with ketchup arrived at 13 minutes and 10 seconds. And the USDA prime hand cut steak and shrimp scampi arrived in 19 minutes and 28 seconds. It's a good pace. I enjoyed the salad. It's a surprisingly messy salad since the small plate was overflowing with fresh leafy greens. I had selected Caesar salad dressing, and I like how it complimented the salad's sprinkled cheese. Then, its thick croutons tasted fresh with a slight, welcomed crispness. The fries were also pleasant. It's a mountain of fries! They were thin & crisp. Dipping these golden, dry sticks into the ketchup added a much needed wetness. When the main entree arrived, I felt stuffed. The main dish came with eight tiny shrimp, but they were well-buttered and plump. The steak was also well-seasoned. Unfortunately, as mentioned, although I ordered the "medium rare," this steak came "medium well-done" and very chewy. It had unpleasant, rubbery bites. It was somewhat disappointing how the meat at Domestic (Covina) was the worst part of the meal. Concerning ambiance, Domestic (Covina) is gorgeous, clean, and very comfortable. This is an ideal location to take a date or family gathering. There's many tables inside and outside. Also, the many flat screen TVs (i.e. six inside & two outside) make it ideal for watching sports. I also appreciated the energetic, upbeat music in the background. Overall, I had a pleasant experience at Domestic (Covina). Although its steak was somewhat unpleasant and poorly prepared, I truly enjoyed every other aspect of this establishment. I left full. 4.5 out of 5

This review is really for the drinks only. Came here on a Friday around 2:30 pm for a quick lunch and the restaurant was pretty empty. We sat in their patio since they welcomed dogs as we had our little pup with us. Server kindly gave her a bowl of water, which is always appreciated. We ordered the 2 meat combo with bacon mac & cheese - which came with pickled veggies and a brioche roll - as well as brisket fries. Not sure if they were having an off day, but overall, food was a 2.3/5. Everything was pretty cold and dry, nothing really stood out. The fries were really mid, seemed like frozen fries and chopped up meat pieces... they even forgot our brioche roll. However, the drinks really made it for us! $13 for an old fashion and margarita with forteleza?! and I believe $11 or $13 shots??? You really cannot beat that. Also, our server was great -- he checked up on us a lot.

My wife and I came in to dine at Domestic on a Friday night. Domestic is still of my favorite BBQ spots to eat at. The moment you walk in you are greeted and seated very quickly. The staff here has always been kind and welcoming each visit. The service is top notch and they treat you like family. The menu items options are abundant and there's plenty to choose from wherever you are sharing or getting you own plates. This recent visit we shared the 2 meat + 1 side combo which is $27. We also ordered the brisket flautas and the crispy brussels. The meats we choose were the 2 ribs and and brisket with the bacon mac and cheese. The flautas are A MUST in our book. It's crispiness and the tenderness of the brisket is a solid combination. The brussels sprouts were tremendous as well. We never ordered it before but we will from now on. The flavor on them was heavenly. Overall, Domestic is one of best BBQ spots here in the SGV and they continue to prove to us why they are. Thanks, Domestic!

I came here on a whim alone on a Sunday afternoon after seeing the overall positive reviews on yelp. I was expecting good food and top notch service based on those reviews, but unfortunately I did not receive either. For service, I did have 2 servers in total. The first server was fairly attentive and was happy to give me some recommendations when I asked, but overall the service quality wasn't what I would describe as top notch. After getting my food, my server left for a lunch break and introduced me to a 2nd server who will be attending me on their behalf. For context, I was sitting in the outside patio area. The new server did check on me once, but for 20-25 minutes, the server did not come over to my table or any of the other customers. Once I saw him come outside, I had to call him over to get my check and a to-go box. I can forgive bad service if the food made up for it. I ordered the 2 meat combo and the brisket sammy. Altogether, I tried their pulled pork, brisket, St Louis ribs, coleslaw, and bacon Mac and cheese. The combo also came with a butter brioche roll and some pickles. BBQ Sauce, 1.5/5: It honestly tasted like something you could buy at a supermarket. The flavor had little smokiness or much nuance from spices. Best way to describe it is "spicy" ketchup. Coleslaw, 2.5/5: Tasted refreshing and better than fast food coleslaw (e.g. Raising Cane's) but otherwise nothing remarkable. Pickled veggies, 2/5: Forgettable. The pickled jalapenos had no heat. They had mild tang, which wasn't enough to balance the fatty meats. Bacon Mac n cheese, 2.25/5: The sauce was creamy but quickly tasted one note. Most likely the sauce only used cheddar. The noodles had good texture, and the sauce clinged to them well. There was so little bacon I almost forgot it was supposed to be included. If it was just regular Mac and cheese, I would give it a 2.5 or 3 out of 5. Buttered brioche roll, 0/5: Wasn't buttered at all. Dry. Tasted like something you would expect from a wholesale bakery. Brisket sandwich, 1/5: Like the roll, the brioche bun tasted was dry. No buttery rich taste from the bread. The brisket was covered in BBQ sauce, which I already described my disappointment with. The pickle and onions added texture, but their flavors were too mild to notice. There was a generous amount of meat, and some fell off while eating, but that also made eating messy. The meat itself was honestly bland. If there was any flavor, it was covered in the BBQ sauce. The texture and taste is comparable to brisket from a grocery store freezer aisle. This sandwich is effectively a grown up version of a McRib, and I don't mean that as a compliment. St. Louis ribs, 2.75/5: The best thing I had here at Domestic, which isn't saying much. It wasn't literally "fall off the bone," but the meat came off the bone fairly easily with my mouth. The ribs had flavor and were moderately savory and smokey. There were different textures thanks to the bark. There were, however, some unpleasant, overly salty bites, and the fatty portions were grease bombs. Pulled pork, 2/5: Greasy and came with BBQ sauce on top. The BBQ sauce did not do enough to balance the grease. The bites were inconsistent. Some were decently moist and savory while others were dry and bland. Proportion wise, the combo didn't feel like a lot of food. If it weren't for the flavor fatigue, despite the variety of options I had, I could've finished everything. To add insult to injury, when I did get my bill, I found they charged an "Optional Kitchen Gratuity." It was a small amount, and after I left the restaurant, I found out this gratuity is technically mentioned in the menu's fine print and could be asked to be removed. But I was not aware of the find print when I paid, and neither of my servers mentioned this gratuity fee earlier to me. As a result, I felt "tricked" into paying the fee. Shortly after I left, I felt my mood dropped and felt exhausted. I attributed this mood swing due to how greasy the pulled ribs were and the highly processed carbs. Tl;dr: This meal has convinced me to go vegetarian for the next few days.

Obsessed with the barbecue here! I usually order the 2 meats + 1 side combo for $27 and get the ribs and brisket. Ribs are fall off the bone and the brisket just melts in your mouth! Every time I come here, I have to get one of the locally brewed beers on tap. I opted for El Segundo Brewing, the IPA was crisp and delicious! Paired perfectly with the barbecue. Be sure to ask your server for the spicy barbecue sauce if you enjoy a tangy twist. It's delicious! Service is prompt and incredibly friendly.

First time visit after reading recommendations. Sadly, my order didn't live up to the hype. Meat was dry and lukewarm. Tri tip didn't have much flavor without the accompanying jus Service was attentive but restaurant was surprisingly empty on a Saturday lunch period. There were only two other customers at one table in the entire restaurant. Maybe that should have been a sign of how the food might turn out? Went the following week to a frequently mentioned competitor not too far away. Moister, and more tender and flavorful meats at the other place

The meat is GOOD!! I came during lunch on a weekday and it was not busy. There were a lot of seats opened! Service was also good! The only thing is that the lighting can be harsh during lunch time when the sun is shining. The miso steak was absolutely delicious. The potatoes were crunchy which added a great texture. Ribs were tender and came with a side of bbq sauce. I personally like the miso steak more! Cornbread was decent (it was a good first try) and the cole slaw was just like any other cole slaw I've had at any other place.

I love Union, and I love Northern Italian food - reservation made! My partner asked if I'd looked at the menu, because so many of the dishes looked spicy, but I was like... it's northern Italian, how spicy could it be? So beware that if you're spice-sensitive like I am, your options will be more limited. Ambiance was lovely; we sat inside but there is a nice outdoor patio too. Cocktail menu had creative choices, and the To Peach Their Own was my favorite. Standout dishes: Lumache with lobster and miso cream (ate every last bite!), Torchetti with pork ragu, and the tiramisu with sea salt on top. The stars of the meal! Great: Focaccia - don't skip this to start! Good: Burrata. The peaches were a little underripe and the burrata wasn't as creamy as I expected, but the overall dish was good Service was warm and attentive - the staff took the kampachi off our bill, even though we probably should have googled "togarashi" before ordering. Personally, I'm not a huge fan of wine, so I ordered the Pineapple Shorty which I highly recommend! Alexa said it was also a house favorite. For starters we ordered the Focaccia bread which comes with the most delicious house butter. You MUST try this! It was my favorite part of the meal. We also ordered the Gem Salad which had the best butter lettuce I have ever been served at a restaurant. It was crisp and chilled perfectly. I wish the the dressing had a bit more flavor though. Btw, it serves 2-3 people. For entrees we ordered the Torchetti which was amazing. Again, I wish it had a bit more flavor. Another dish we ordered was the Bucatini Casio E Pepe which was loved by all. We would definitely come here again. I really want to try the Campanelle next time. This restaurant is definitely run by a passionate owner. They care deeply about service, quality and all around customer service. I hope they are very successful, so they are around for a long time! The venue itself was beautiful, clean, and created the perfect atmosphere for our celebration. Our guests couldn't stop complimenting the space, the service, and how well everything was organized. Seeing the look on my husband's face when he walked into his surprise party is a memory I'll treasure forever, and this venue played a huge part in making that moment possible. Thank you, Bill, and your incredible team, for helping create a night our family will never forget. I would recommend this venue without hesitation and would gladly host another event here in the future.

The service was extremely slow to start--we waited a while just for water and to get drink orders taken. We ordered the Ahi tuna appetizer, which was good, but the course pacing completely fell apart after that. Our salads took 25 minutes to arrive. Before I could even get the fresh ground pepper I requested, our main courses were rushed to the table while we hadn't even started our salads. The food quality was unacceptable for an upscale restaurant: Both my wife and I ordered our steaks medium-rare. Mine arrived completely leathery, dry as a bone, and thoroughly overcooked. I didn't eat a single bite of it. My wife's steak arrived medium-well, and her side of rice was completely dry. The bottle of red wine we ordered from their very small wine list was served warm. When we declined having the steak re-fired or free dessert, we finished our wine and asked for the check. The $62 inedible steak was still on the bill, so I asked to speak with the owner. When I calmly explained the issues, the owner became angry that I didn't want the steak redone and walked away mid-conversation. He eventually came back, removed the $62 steak, and told us he didn't want us back in his restaurant. To top it off, for an establishment charging fine-dining prices where guests dress up, the owner was wearing shorts and sneakers. One chance is all a restaurant gets to make a good impression. Lincoln House missed the mark completely. We will not be returning.

We started with guacamole and chips and fish tacos, then shared a big platter with carne asada, grilled chicken, cheese, nopales, grilled cebollitas and more, along with rice and beans. There was plenty of food to share, everything came out beautifully presented, and everything we tried was delicious. We finished with the churros, which were also really good. The drinks were very well made and actually nice and strong! I appreciate that because so many places serve drinks that taste watered down, and that definitely wasn't our experience here. The restaurant itself is really cute and has some great signs and backgrounds for pictures. We got some really nice group photos for our social media, and one of the employees even volunteered to take a picture for us so we could all be in it, which was really sweet. Even the girls' restroom was super cute and nicely decorated. You can tell they put thought into the little details throughout the place. Our waitress, Marissa, was wonderful from beginning to end. She was sweet, attentive and made sure we were taken care of throughout the night. The other employees we interacted with were also very friendly and helpful. I'm really happy our first experience here was such a good one. I would definitely come back for another girls' night, but I could also see myself coming back with my husband and kids for a family dinner. Definitely a place I would recommend.

Host and waitress were really friendly. We ordered the calamari, molcajete with a Jamaica. Calamari: 5/5 This appetizer was a great way to start our celebration. It was crispy enough to keep you wanting more. The flavor wasn't too fishy and it was accompanied by some tasty dipping sauces. Would definitely order again. Molcajete: 4/5 A favorite at our table that was filled with so many protein options and a nice salsa to pair with. We loved the chicken, chorizo, and the queso!! The only reason it got a 4/5 was because the steak was waaaay too salty which made it hard to enjoy. The shrimp was a nice touch, also not too fishy and the bacon paired nicely. You can definitely taste a variety of flavors and it's also a big enough portion to share! Comes with beans and rice which we ended up splitting with our kiddos. Jamaica: 5/5 We loved the Jamaica here and it tastes very traditional. It doesn't taste like it's made from powder and comes in a huge glass cup. Not too sweet and the bold flavor of the hibiscus makes it hard to stop drinking! Loved it. Overall, a great place to dine in for celebrations or just for a nice dinner. Would definitely recommend if you're nearby. I hope to come back soon.

Gen has that rare gift of being everywhere at once: your glass never empties, but somehow she also has time to crack a joke, swap a story, and make you feel like you're the only person in the room. Her style? Effortlessly cool. The kind where you wonder if she was born behind a barstool with a cocktail shaker in her hand. Smooth, attentive, and utterly unflappable, she manages the chaos of a busy bar with the calm of a Zen master and the charm of your funniest friend. They just don't teach service like this anymore -- it's an art form. And Gen? She's Picasso with a pour spout. If The Wheel Bar has a secret ingredient, it's Gen. This is disturbing considering our matches ended at 11:30pm. That's also an issue, bc there is one table, we can only play one match at a time, so now we here forever. There is nothing special or significant about this bar. The reason I gave 1 star was the bathroom. I kid you not, there was a fucking hole in the woman's bathroom window! The screen was destroyed, literally anyone can stick their face in and watch you pee. This is really unsafe and so fucked up.

You seat yourself, we chose a spacious seating section to the right. There's a bathroom right here so that's convenient. Unfortunately, the start of the experience wasn't great. A nice person came to take our drink order said she would be right back. Between now and then it's been 20 minutes, and 4 different staff/servers have stopped by our table to ask us if we need anything. In which we've been replying yes we would like to order. Each one of them responds the same way, ill notify your server. I don't really blame the girl though, they're pretty short staff. She's all over the place, she probably just forgot about it or didn't realize how much time was passing by. I mean, what can she do at the end of the day. It would've been nice if one of the other four people would've taken our order though. They're not just helping out as the customers, but they're also helping out there staff as well. I got to the point where we were debating about leaving, but we had already ordered our drinks. Aside from that the vibe is pretty cool. I really enjoy the music they have been playing. They also have a live band. It's good for parties and groups. The staff is friendly, they're nice The drinks and the food are very good. Unfortunately, the wings were not very hot when they came out. We both think the wings were probably done first, and just sitting there for a little while while the rest of the food was being made. Because we were able to very easily pick up our wings and eat them no problem. They were barely warm. I'm not sure if I would be back again just because they seem so short staffed and they don't seem like they communicate very well with each other. But I did enjoy the overall experience.

Jorge came outside multiple times, clearly saw how many people were waiting, and even recorded the crowd on his phone three different times for social media. Knowing the capacity of the restaurant, he could have easily informed everyone that the remaining people in line would likely not get in. Instead, we waited over three hours with no communication. While we were waiting, I repeatedly watched people call Jorge. He would come outside, greet them, and bring them straight inside. I personally saw this happen at least six different times. When it was finally our turn to speak with the host, we were told there were no seats left, that we would have to stand, and that we wouldn't even be able to order food. I confronted Jorge about letting those other groups in ahead of everyone else. His response was that he knew them personally and that they were friends of the restaurant owners. That explanation only made the situation worse. My wife had just finished a 14-hour hospital shift, and we came here hoping to enjoy the game together. Instead, we spent three hours waiting only to be treated as though our time didn't matter. What was most shocking was Jorge's attitude. He literally told me, "They won't do anything to me if you post this. I'm friends with the owner." If that's the mindset of management, it's no surprise customers are treated this way. It truly felt like only friends and family received special treatment while everyone else was left waiting without honesty or respect. I have no issue waiting when things are busy, but I do expect transparency, fairness, and professionalism. Unfortunately, this experience showed none of those qualities.
