The only saving grace for this hotel is the front desk person, she was extremely nice, super pleasant and accommodating. The hotel needs a LOT of maintenance and deep cleaning. The inside of the door was all grimy and dirty, the lampshade right over the coffee maker is full of dust and grime, It looks like it hasn't been cleaned for decades, there was a hole in the bathroom wall and the bathroom tiles were loose so when you stepped on them it pinched and cut the skin on your feet, the walls were all dinged up, the electrical outlets were covered in dirt, dust and dead ants, we found beer bottle caps on side of bed, the pillows are a laughable joke, thin as a pancake and lumpy, they should just throw them all away. On the bottom floor there are thick curtains on the front window, but no sheer curtains so you can't open your front window curtains without people constantly walking by and peering in your room. They have very bright security lights in front of the doors, they light up your room all night long, even with the thicker curtains on the windows, bathrooms don't have a hairdryer and the ones that do they don't work. You can see the pretty pine trees in the back of the hotel but it's not in a great area. There's a bunch of homeless people living up on the hill by an abandoned strip mall that's right by the hotel . All it would take is a little touch up paint and a LOT of elbow grease to clean the place up.

This is our first time going to Apple Hill and we wanted a no frills hotel for one night. This place exceeded our expectation. The location is great, right off the 50. I called them a few hours before we arrived to let them know we were checking in late, and the young man on the phone told us the office closed at 11pm and to call back if we were going to be in later to make arrangements for us to get the keys. The same young man checked us in. He was very polite and informative. My husband and I hold good customer service in high regard since it's so rare now a days. Our room was on the 1st floor. The parking lot is well lit and clean. The room is also clean and comfy. We would stay here again.

Remodeled. Very comfortable. Everything in working order. Hot, good pressure water. Bathtub. Soap and package shampoo. Hairdryer. Room 14. 20 min to rafting. Breakfast includes coffee, tea, packaged danish, and bananas. Smidgen of traffic noise. Refrig, microwave, and coffee maker. Double queen size beds. Nice people who runs it. Near roadway. Didn't have a chance to explore. In and out. Nearby coffee shop plus grocery outlet.

I like ice cream when I vacation but no place to store. The facility is in Superb condition. The rooms are Stupendous, the one we had anyway. Very nice excellent air conditioning. The outdoor tub was outstanding. To top things off you can control everything from your normal switch plates/light switch. I would highly recommend this place but be Very Leary of the Pond that you should Not be swimming in. This review is from a 10 year Elite/Black badge. I sure hope this assists someone

We checked in after 6pm, so check in instructions were texted to us. Easy to follow. Was easy to find. We stopped at Wally's Pizza for dinner in Cameron Park based off their restaurant suggestions on their website and sent via text check in instructions. Great suggestion! The next mornings breakfast is texted the night before, offering some options like juice preference. And it's delivered around 9am the next morning. Since we had to be at rafting at 9 our first morning at the Inn, they delivered us fruit, scones, and juice early at 8:15am which was really nice. Breakfast was delicious, both mornings. And super fresh. We stayed in the Cypress room. Was as pictured online. Room was clean. The patio area is nice. We explored the grounds a bit our last morning and saw many places to sit around. We enjoyed some time up at the pond in the morning. The staff - I assume owners - were very friendly. We were very happy with our stay here and would return!

That's like excuse our dust, but the problem was not related to dust except for maybe some nose dust that The Proprietor's are sniffing. my first complaint is that the electric vehicle charging is ridiculously expensive for level two. Unless you are on 10% or less battery at the time of arrival, it probably would not make sense financially to charge here. They charge $20 to charge overnight and that is simply outrageous. Drive down to the El Dorado County sheriffs office and you can charge for free on their clipper chargers. That's just about a mile south of this hotel. No, the next thing is ice: there's an ice machine on floor one, but it doesn't work and it's not labeled as such which immediately in still panic in me when I realized that my hotel room libations may have to be consumed room temperature. Horror! Next up: Jacuzzi: the Jets are incredibly weak such that I didn't even think they were on when I went over to the little knob that you have to power up to get anything at all. I'm sorry, but unless I was desperate, I would not come to this hotel again thank you very much

It was large with a king bed and a great view of the valley. All rooms are non smoking which is good as the casino is not. Rooms are reasonably priced during the week, but I feel they are overpriced on the weekends.

We arrived to a note on the door advising us to check in at Gold Trail Motor Lodge with an address. It was dark when we arrived and we had no idea where this place would be. This started us off feeling really off... but that didn't stop us from checking in --- the Gold Trail Motor Lodge happens to be right next door. It was dark and didn't feel safe walking over at night. We booked our hotel through Expedia, which offered "Free Breakfast" with our booking. The breakfast included those super cheap cheese danish's and the in-room coffee. It should be noted, the in-room coffee was enough for 2 small cups of coffee. No refills for us, i guess. The decor is old & there was wallpaper peeling off the walls; however, it was clean and appeared to be pest-free. The pool was open, it was very clean. The "lady" tells me the pool is closed for renovations. I tell her because of a recent back injury I only booked the hotel because of the pool. Nowhere does it say the pool is closed. I politely ask her to cancel my reservation. She is very aggressive and says the pool closure is on their website. They don't even have their own website!! I told her nowhere on Expedia did it say they didn't have a pool and could she please cancel the reservation. She was very aggressive and rude. I asked her if she really wanted to force me to stay the night and leave her a bad review for a $100. She said I should have read the website (which remember doesn't exist). I looked again at several websites and nowhere does it say their pool is closed. I called her a second time just to give her an opportunity to be a decent human being. She said only Expedia could cancel the reservation which I questioned as I had to pay her when I checked in. She declined to be reasonable. I messaged Expedia and finally got a real person. They called the woman at the motel and confirmed the pool was closed and falsely misrepresented. Expedia cancelled the room and confirmed she could have easily cancelled the reservation. The selfishness, greed and dishonesty of this motel is beyond understanding. Do not support a business like this! I have been a businessman for over 40 years and I have "lost" or given up on various amounts of money to maintain my reputation and integrity and to make sure my customers are happy. I am shocked by this motel's blatant dishonesty and greed. ( I got another motel 20 minutes the wrong direction but it had a pool. My back and my wife were happy....) This motel could have gotten a good review if they had just been honest and fair. Just saying....
