These are some nice folks trying to run a family place. It is very clean and everyone is very polite. However, this was about my third visit over the past few years (once at their prior location) and I just have to honestly say this is just mediocre pizza. Not much better than chain stuff. The saving grace is they have pretty nice house made fresh garlic rolls. Tonight I tried a "Chicago Style" Italian Beef sandwich. Admittedly, my standard for Italian Beef is quite high, but this was probably the worst I've ever had. Dry beef on open face bun with tiny bell pepper and onion. If you've ever been to Chicago for a beef, you also will be greatly disappointed. My wife's pizza tonight was not much more exciting and we both agreed, this was our last visit. read more

Our pizza came fairly quickly and immediately I noticed the driver was not wearing a mask. This a huge mistake in the food business. The pizza was a complete disappointment. It was dry, little sauce and little cheese. It had a nice amount of toppings however the crust was so tough it was hard to chew. La Roccas you can do better. read more

First try of LaRocca's. Got the Saturday Night Special. 1 large 3 toppings, bread sticks and $1 soda drinks. Free refills. $20 bucks and change for 2. Pizza came out fast, even with all the carry outs coming and going and dine in people. One crust offered which was really good , has a little chew. But still crisp enough. Plenty of toppings and cheese. Wife and I really enjoyed it. Bread sticks were nothing special. Marinara was very good to dip it in thou. This has become my favorite local pizza in Topeka. I travel quite a bit for work (Omaha, Chicago, Columbus, Indianapolis, Colorado Springs, etc), and when there, we always order pizza for lunch from a favorite local business in that city I'm always amazed at the fantastic mom and pop pizzerias that are out there that beat the national chains, hands down. LaRocca's fits this category and is a hidden gem for you if you haven't tried it. We have only tried the pizza and always order carryout, even though they have a wide selection of pastas and have dine in seating, which appear to offer a quiet romantic setting if that's your desire. I'd say that's it's not bad. Price is reasonable and crust is OK. In general, it's worthy of a try but I don't think that anything about it would become my 'go-to' joint. Toppings left a bit to be desired and they don't deliver. Luckily I was less than a mile away, but it interrupted my friendly rendezvous with compadres. I've heard nothing but good things about LaRoccos, but the management I am not impressed with. I would have loved for LaRocco's to cater my wedding. However, the FIVE different times I have reached out I have never received a call back. I started reaching out in March....so it's been 6 months and I've heard nothing. I even contacted the catering manger personally on his cell phone that he had given to my venue for me to reach out and left a voicemail and still nothing. The last time I tried I was PROMISED an email the same night, and of course nothing. Looks like I will be taking my wedding catering elsewhere. Sounds like new management is needed if he's going to be losing thousands of dollars for their business. read more

LaRocca's has been a go to for us for years with the kids. They serve solid pizza and their homemade garlic rolls/knots are delicious. This past Sunday we decided to try dine-in and it was disappointing. Not sure if the place has been sold, has new management, or just new staff after the COVID shutdown, but I'm not impressed with the service. The three stars are for the food, it was good as usual, but man the service was just off. We got sat quick, and placed our order. We ordered 2 of the Large specials, which is a large 3 topping pizza and an order of garlic rolls. My wife and I also ordered a tossed salad and a house salad. The waitress asked us what dressing we wanted and we replied, so I know she took the order. On one of large specials the kids only wanted two toppings so we only ordered it with two toppings, saving the business money in fact. When the garlic rolls came, no salads and only one order of garlic rolls, delivered by someone else, not our waitress. I told this person that we had two orders of garlic rolls and they said "well, um one of your pizza's only had two toppings on it, so you didn't get the special on that one". I proceeded to politely tell her that we specifically ordered TWO specials, and even offered them the solution of of "adding" a third topping, but not putting it on, to make it a "special". She saw the logic and brought us a second order of the rolls. I wrongly assumed the salads would come shortly. We finally asked our original waitress if they had our salads and she proceeded to repeat what salad offerings they had, like we never ordered them in the first place and it was a new request. At this point we already had our pizza and we had young guests so I wasn't going to make a scene so we just ordered a tossed salad and moved on. I've never had someone actually forget what we had ordered like that completely. I like the pizza, but whoever hires these folks needs to train them better or find folks that remember things better... read more

First time to dine here. I've always drove by and wondered how it was. So I stopped in today...... it was better than expected. I'm picky so I never give 4 stars. The food is great American-Italian. They have the best gluten free pizza in town. Hands down. Make sure to get the gluten free crust, because they also have cauliflower crust, which to my knowledge has gluten. Their toppings are great, prices are great. They have Martin city yoga pants gluten free beer. They also have white claw sparkling water which is gluten free. Ordered a couple of sides of garlic knots: drenched in warm melted butter, loads of garlic and puffy knots of warm bread... toasted to perfection. We then ordered half a meat lovers pizza and supreme. The supreme had mucho grande cheese and was layered with a great variety of vegetables and meats. LaRocca advertises their pizza as the #1 Pizza in Kansas. However, I don't think the pizza rises to that title. It is good, don't get me wrong, but I wouldn't put it alongside the top pizza restaurants. The staff are very friendly and prompt when servicing customers. The garlic rolls are pretty good, which many places tend to overlook. The place feels homey, and does look old, but I think that adds to the image of an old pizza restaurant in a working class town. The pizza my girlfriend and I ordered was the "Meat Lovers" (I think that was the name). It was good, but like I said before, it wasn't alongside the great pizza places I've visited before. I do like that they have a lot of topping options for making your own pizza, which I plan to take advantage of when I go back. The prices seem comparable with other pizza restaurants I have visited, and I would say they're maybe a bit high, but still reasonable. The service was horrible. We sat at our table for 7 minutes before being given menus. My pizza was good but my boyfriend did not like his. His empty beer glass sat at the edge of the table for 24 minutes before we were asked for refills. Tables with dirty dishes sat scattered, and the waitresses were not efficient. BIG shoutout to LaRoccas Topeka! We love their pizza, love that they are local, and LOVE that they offer dairy-free pizza for A. Jason ordered pizza delivery from them on Friday. They have been awesome throughout the pandemic regarding safety. I was super disappointed when their delivery person arrived without a mask on. Things can't be fixed if the business doesn't know, so I sent them a FB message last night and let them know. I received an awesome response today thanking me for letting them know, that they talked to the driver, and he knows he needs to wear it now. The employee previously worked for a food delivery service and they didn't require a mask if he was outside, so he said he didn't know he needed to. They said he understands now that he needs to wear it anytime he is out of his car. They thanked me again for letting them know and that they had no idea. THIS is great customer service and a business committed to keeping everyone safe. We will continue to support them and I hope others will too! read more
