Possibly the best pastrami I've ever had. What a treasure, with great food and great conversation.

    Larry Joe's truck
    Melissa V.

I found this gem on Yelp and loved the reviews so we took a ride to check it out! Larry Joe's is just a food truck on the side of the road. We pulled in and parked next to a car with Arkansas license plates...which is a surprising thing to see around here. The food truck was there, a few people mingling around waiting for orders, a bunch of lawn chairs and small tables (like the size for putting your drinks on). We got out and were reading the menu on the side of the truck and Larry Joe was outside the truck talking with people there. Larry Joe was describing his chili for the hot dogs that it's the real deal as he's from Arkansas. At this point I'm guessing that the car with the Arkansas plates is his. All of a sudden this guy is like "wait! Y'all are from Arkansas?!?" It turns out that car with the Arkansas license plates just happened to stop in the middle of Massachusetts at a stop owned by a guy from Arkansas. It was all of a sudden like old home week!! They were talking about home and the places they live and all. I know that's a totally random piece of information, but it was pretty entertaining! Anyways, we all ordered. My mom the 1/4 lb hot dog, my partner the large sausage sandwich and I got the small sausage sandwich. The also offer a pastrami sandwich and a HALF pound hot dog (it's monstrous!)!!!! They called our name when our order was ready. We decided to eat in our comfortable car rather than on the plastic lawn chairs provided as we had my elderly mom with us and we thought the car would be easier. We were all happy with our food. I love these little places that people are just doing what they love and turning out some good food. We would go here again, and even though I'm not really a hot dog fan I'd probably order that next time just because it's his specialty!

Hot dog, small (which is huge), with mustard, salsa, hots, and sauerkraut. Amazing

This was the best hot dog of my life. We went to Southwick Zoo but we were really going to get this hot dog from the coolest guy ever. So we get there and the first thing that greets you is that wonderful BBQ aroma. There must be a smoker in there. I love that smell. Then I see Larry and I am pumped. He did not disappoint, he was extremely welcoming, helpful, and a great story teller. 2 dogs, 2 sodas, and a bag of kettle chips for $19.00. I was so full. I can't wait to go again. Maybe next time I will get the pastrami.

Completely changed my view of hot dogs! Absolutely delicious. High quality ingredients & incredible service - Larry Joe is a real gem. Highly recommend the hot pepper salad!

Got the western with chili and onion, and the pastrami with sauerkraut and mustard. Both were very good, I love this place.

1/2 lb Bigdog Mustard Onion 1/4 lb Pitdog Chili Mustard

Excellent food here at Larry Joe's. Get the Big Dog if you are hungry 1/2 lb and served on a sub roll. If you are looking for a quicker bite to eat go with the 1/4 lb Pit Dog. Freshly made to order and all house made condiments. Owner is super friendly and knows his Blues Music.

    The 1/2 lb Presidental Hotdog.

First time at this famous spot. I got the Presidental 1/2 lb and I enjoyed it. My friends got the Caribbean spicy dog and they recommended that, so I'll have to try that next time.

Lazy Sunday morning while watch the staple in our house Phantom Gourmet they show cased this road side gem a couple of towns over. So before the football season starts we decided to head out. The smell is what hits you first and you know your close, next is the line of people already waiting for their BIG HOTDOG. The service is just what you expect feels like a back yard BBQ. Step up get your choice of beef hotdog or sausage. And a great choice of home made sides to add. If in the area come by and support local.

Their food truck operates sporadically, typically once a week depending on the season, and the menu is usually limited. That said, everything we've tried has been consistently excellent. Check their website to see where they'll be next. We caught them at the Stanley Woolen Mill parking lot and ordered: Lobster Roll (Original Size) - $20.95 Harvest Turkey Sandwich - $13.75 Mashed Potatoes with Gravy - $2.50 "Call Tag: F Troop" Total with tip: $43.78 Once you place your order, you get a fun retro call tag. Ours was F Troop, while others got classics like The Brady Bunch. The soundtrack? The theme from The Monkees. Nice touch. About 10 minutes later, our order was up. The "original" lobster roll may be their smaller option, but it's still generously sized--served in a classic New England split-top bun and packed with lobster. Fresh, simple, and done right. Then there's the Harvest Turkey Sandwich--labeled "The BIG-ONE" for good reason. It weighs in at well over 1¼ pounds and lives up to the name. It's massive. Adding the mashed potatoes and gravy turned the second half of that sandwich into dinner later on, which worked out perfectly. Bottom line: Yummies Drive-Up is, in fact, very yummy. Tip: To reduce wait time, call or text your order in the morning. Skip the online form--texting is the way to go.

Shuckin Truck was an absolute hit! They set up the outdoor raw bar...clams (littlenecks), oysters, and shrimp on ice, in a very attractive manner. The table was manned by a charming "shucker". There were an assortment of passed hors d'oeuvres which included lobster grilled cheese lobster triangles...these were indescribably delicious. Everyone was oohing and aahing over these. I also loved the smoked salmon on toast and the small cups of really tasty clam chowder. All the appetizers were incredibly delicious although I would say the lobster grilled cheese was the biggest hit. All of the staff were polite and friendly. After the appetizer round, the lobster rolls came out and they were simply spectacular. They were true New England lobster rolls on toasted square edged (this is key) frankfurter buns, and absolutely stuffed with chunks of delicious lobster meat that had been lightly dressed with mayo. Those rolls were out of this world, deliciously prepared and very generously filled with sweet lobster meat. They also served fabulous fish tacos. For the non-seafood eaters of which there were none at this party, they served a pulled pork taco which was spicy and delicious. The portions were generous and the food just kept on coming out. While there was plenty of additional food at this party from other vendors as well as some homemade additions, Shuckin' Truck was my favorite part of the overall feast. Great job! I would not hesitate to hire them for a party or to seek out the food truck wherever it was parked!

Bone-in or boneless wings that come with either regular or sweet-potato fries. Each option has 3 sizes to choose from. I had to try each version so I got a small order of both. The chicken is hand seasoned upon ordering so that was good to see they weren't pulling frozen chicken parts out of a bag. The seasoning is flour and spices and not battered which adds to the taste and texture. The 'Soul' part of the name may indicate the preparation to some, but I didn't consider it until I was plowing my way through my order. There were two people ahead of me and I think the size of the truck makes it tough to make orders 'quick'. It took maybe 10-15 mins for my order to be ready. The hardest part was having to drive from the location in the Marriott parking lot back to work and smell my food the whole time. I finally got to my desk and was presently surprised by some well seasoned and lovely brown color tenders/wings and fries to match. The seasoning is very flavorful and provides the chicken with all it needs. Sauces or condiments are not needed for these wings. They stand perfectly on their own. I started with the tenders. somewhat small in size but very tasty. What really stands out are the bone-in wings. Nice crisp outside but incredibly juicy on the inside. Very delectable.
