The hot dogs at Larry Joe's hot dog truck are unbelievably good. There are a variety of toppings to choose from - we got the chili topped with onions and it was fantastic. The chili is not spicy so good for all taste bud varieties! Also got the hot dog topped with mustard, onion and relish. The homemade relish is excellent I'd definitely get it again. Since this is a food truck, there is limited seating but they have a picnic table and a few plastic chairs if you choose to eat on site. Prices are very reasonable, and they also offer a variety of cans of soda and waters along with potato chips if you want a side (however after eating just the dog you likely won't have room for any sides)! read more

I found this gem on Yelp and loved the reviews so we took a ride to check it out! Larry Joe's is just a food truck on the side of the road. We pulled in and parked next to a car with Arkansas license plates...which is a surprising thing to see around here. The food truck was there, a few people mingling around waiting for orders, a bunch of lawn chairs and small tables (like the size for putting your drinks on). We got out and were reading the menu on the side of the truck and Larry Joe was outside the truck talking with people there. Larry Joe was describing his chili for the hot dogs that it's the real deal as he's from Arkansas. At this point I'm guessing that the car with the Arkansas plates is his. All of a sudden this guy is like "wait! Y'all are from Arkansas?!?" It turns out that car with the Arkansas license plates just happened to stop in the middle of Massachusetts at a stop owned by a guy from Arkansas. It was all of a sudden like old home week!! They were talking about home and the places they live and all. I know that's a totally random piece of information, but it was pretty entertaining! Anyways, we all ordered. My mom the 1/4 lb hot dog, my partner the large sausage sandwich and I got the small sausage sandwich. The also offer a pastrami sandwich and a HALF pound hot dog (it's monstrous!)!!!! They called our name when our order was ready. We decided to eat in our comfortable car rather than on the plastic lawn chairs provided as we had my elderly mom with us and we thought the car would be easier. We were all happy with our food. I love these little places that people are just doing what they love and turning out some good food. We would go here again, and even though I'm not really a hot dog fan I'd probably order that next time just because it's his specialty! read more

This was the best hot dog of my life. We went to Southwick Zoo but we were really going to get this hot dog from the coolest guy ever. So we get there and the first thing that greets you is that wonderful BBQ aroma. There must be a smoker in there. I love that smell. Then I see Larry and I am pumped. He did not disappoint, he was extremely welcoming, helpful, and a great story teller. 2 dogs, 2 sodas, and a bag of kettle chips for $19.00. I was so full. I can't wait to go again. Several different styles of hot dog, offered in 1/2 pound or full pound sizes, all cooked over a wood fire in his food truck. I pretty much exclusively review Barbecue joints but I'll make somewhat of an exception here. Good lord, these were amazing! Got a Frankfurter with Mustard and Relish and a Western (Sage and Pepper) with some BBQ sauce. I was blown away by the quality of the sauces, they make their own. The Relish almost looked like a nice sweet and sour sauce with cranberries in it. The BBQ I think is made with little pieces of Pineapple and it was very tropical sweet style tasting. Frankfurter is the the real deal, grilled perfectly and juicy and had that awesome zingy smokey flavor. Western I could definitely taste the sage and a hint of that black pepper. Buns are toasted soft white bread sub rolls and they are perfect! Makes you question why the hell you have been getting dumb hot dog buns all your life. Definitely one of those places where you just have to stop and get a few if your in the area. Need to go back! NO KETCHUP! These dogs deserve respect so appreciate the fact that ketchup is only used to make gross things taste like something else. (btw, I like ketchup but I know when it don't belong) read more

What a great hidden gem! Found this place as we were on our way to mendon to see a movie at the drive in. Larry is such a nice guy and he is turning out amazing food. I had the firedog with mustard, relish (which is sweet fruits and veggies) and the hot pepper salad. Holy moly was it good! The sausage was cooked perfectly. Larry also slices the sausage In half to accommodate the toppings. Also the toasted bun is perfect to holding everything together. My boyfriend had the western sausage with mustard, onions and chili. Very good (big) dogs here. These take a while so don't figure on anything quick happening. These are 4 to a # Pearl beef dogs (pretty sure) and they're cooked on a grill with added wood chip for additional flavor. Larry used to work for Speed on Northampton Street in Boston before Speed retired and he's tried to recreate that setting. While not as good as a Speed dog....these are very good and very big...he does take call ahead orders if you are in a rush. read more

I got an artisan, charcoal cooked hot dog with homemade relish. Also, while it was on the grill, the owner came out and gave me a lesson on how to fix my golf form. The dog was grilled perfectly, giving it that smokey flavor but not overpowering the meat. The relish was hot (just how I like it) but the heat didn't overpower the dog or stay past its' welcome.
