Was looking for a new place to try while we were in the area after a doctor's appt. Came across this place after seeing the raving yelp reviews. Located within a strip mall with ample parking. As you enter it definitely has the Barn theme going on and was pleasantly decorated appropriately. I was surprised how huge it was inside and with the high ceilings. You approach a menu board and order at the counter and the food is brought out to you. I tried a specialty burger called the Hangover burger and my wife tried the Black and Blue. With a large side order of onion rings and a special sauce dip. Both burgers were cooked perfectly. My burger had bacon on it which actually overwhelmed the taste of the burger. The onion rings were recommended by the order taker when we asked for recommendations and they didn't disappoint. The seating inside is somewhat odd especially with a large section of empty space between tables. You could have dance off between the space. It wasn't that busy when we came in and with the large open space I could see food under the tables on the opposite side. It was around 1:30 when we sat down so they had ample time to clean up between the waves of guests. Other than that the burgers are still a great second option than your typical fast food joints.

Honestly the food was alright, shakes were great, the short little server girl? Nope. Attitude central. She was so rude and completely disinterested in anything. The way she talked was just plain rude. If you have better servers, have them instead cause wow.

Needed something local and fast and this place fit the bill. First time here and it was a good fast meal. Burgers were fresh and flavorful. Chicken sandwich was tender and well-seasoned. Wings were fresh and tender. Great service and the tables were clean and well-spaced.

Love this burger place. Delicious and very kind and helpful staff. Been multiple times and so glad they made it even bigger. Expanded the side to be bigger.

WOW!! We had a great dining experience at the Burger Barn Grill!! Loved the iron decor at the entrance. We walked in and placed our orders at the counter, took our drink cups to be filled (biodegradable products!) and after a short wait our food was delivered to our table. The burger was excellent! Perfectly cooked, juicy but not greasy. The sweet potato fries were waffle fries and they were awesome! Delicious flavor and perfectly crispy. The booths were spacious yet private for your group. I will definitely seek out the Burger Barn Grill next time I'm visiting in the JAX area!

This is our first time here. We are seeing a movie right after this so the location is ideal. The place had plenty of people eating but still we did not have to wait at 130 PM on Black Friday to place our order. This place is expensive since everything is a-la-carte and there is an additional .5% sales tax added to the order that this complex collects. This is cited in the cash register where you order. The theme of this restaurant is US military crashing into farm tools and barn motifs. Doesn't really work as an aesthetic style because it is not "designed" like it does at Mission BBQ so the vibe is like that of a local diner (POV) Food comes very quickly to your table by a staff person and the take your trash as well. The burgers are 5.2 ounces here. We made our onion ring choice between a regular (8) vs the large which has (13) rings. We ordered the Southwest burger and single bacon with one order of large onion rings and 1 soda. This came to $30. The burgers and the beer battered rings were delicious. The burgers were cooked to the liking of the chef, the lettuce was Boston Bibb, the tomatoes were ripe. The bun was not toasted or seasoned which would have made it more elevated for me. The southwest was (good) messy because of the ingredients so it needed the toasting and to keep the bun from getting so wet. The real bacon was thick cut and cooked perfectly. My hubby loved the char flavor on the burger and just over all thought it was a great burger. Their fry sauce that comes with the rings was tasty. There are only 1 bathroom for each male and female. Gave it a 4 star because of the bun lacking flavor.

My family stopped here on a whim. The burgers were very flavorful. They have a different variety than your typical burger place. I got the black and bleu burger. I love blue cheese, but there was a little too much blue cheese. The burgers are separate from fries and other sides. They do sell beer and wine as well. It's a very casual place. The employees did have great suggestions when I asked for suggestions.

I got a classic cheese burger the softest freshest bun and this cheese burger every bite was delicious!

Ordered at the front counter and was greeted by a friendly young lady... good start. I went in planning to get the muffaleta off the specials board. They checked on it, but no luck... they were out of the cuts needed. I was pointed toward the Italian, but my buddy already grabbed that and I felt like being different. Noticed another special on the wall, a smoked brisket sandwich. Can't remember the exact name, but that's what I went with. Instead of chips or their homemade tots, I grabbed the balsamic roasted brussel sprouts as an appetizer. Tables weren't the cleanest and were a little wobbly, but nothing deal-breaking... we made it work. Food came out pretty quick and looked solid. Flavor-wise... a little mixed. The brussel sprouts were very flaky and leafy, almost crumbled apart. You really had to work your fork to get a bite. I was picturing larger roasted halves. Sauce was fine, nothing bad, nothing special. I'd give those a 3 out of 5. The brisket sandwich was interesting. The meat was very fatty and kind of tough to chew through. Not sure if that's just the cut or the prep. I ate about three-quarters of it. It wasn't bad, just didn't hit the way I hoped. Probably still thinking about that muffaleta. Another 3 out of 5. I'd come back, no doubt... but next time I'm sticking with what they're known for. Those cheesesteaks always look great, and that's probably the move. Today was about trying something different, and I'm glad I did... even if it didn't knock my socks off.

This is one of those places that we love but haven't been to in far too long. We both tried things that were new to each of us tonight as well, which was cool. I ordered The Ole Smokie, with everything on it and choose cheddar cheese. My first thought when it was brought to the table was "oh, I'll probably have to go at this with a fork & knife" but I decided to give it a shot as intended. I'm glad I did because the bread held up surprisingly well! As far as ingredients go, the brisket was good and smokey. There was a good mix of everything else and more than enough cheddar. My wife ordered the Chicken Cheesesteak. She also had a choice of cheese and she picked whizz. The thing that separates this from what people might expect is that it's chunks of chicken, not shredded chicken. She said that's not a bad thing at all, just a change from what some might exoect. She thought it was a welcome change. She liked their cheese whizz a lot and liked the roll as always, so she was glad she tried it. It's worth noting that both sandwiches were big enough that we both took half of each home. I didn't get the name of the two people that were working there this evening, but I'd still like to give then a shout out. They were both incredibly patient with the customers ahead of us and they didn't make us feel rushed even though we were there fairly close to the time they close on Friday evenings. Another good visit to Clarke Bros. Here's hoping it doesn't take us so long to get back here again for the next visit!

Everything on the menu is delicious, the staff is wonderful, and they stand up to bigotry in their own backyard. You can't get much better than that. The only drawback (if you can even consider it one) is just figuring out a good time to arrive to avoid a line. Regardless, even if there is one, the staff moves through it quickly and efficiently. As Sub Cultured is a walk-up window, there's some outside tables to sit, as well as the option of sitting in your car for that car-hop action. Otherwise, you're so close to the beach and parks that taking your sandwiches for a picnic isn't a bad idea either. If you can't find parking immediately at Sub Cultured, there's a little shopping center just next door since there doesn't seem to be much for street parking outside of their handful of spots. All of that said, I'm a transplant to Jacksonville via the Navy since 2004. One of the biggest cravings that I have from back home is a real authentic sausage, pepper, and onion grinder. I can't even begin to describe to y'all how great Sub Cultured's is with that spicy Italian sausage and perfectly cooked peppers and onions. Add a little spicy brown mustard and you're all set.

The best things in life require some effort to build your appetite, and whereas I did not collect a golden idol like Dr. Jones, I was rewarded instead with a cheerful new friend and one of the absolute FRESHEST sandwiches in JAX! Nestled between the sparse woods and surrounding offices you will find happy, loyal diners who fill Hollywood Heroes and Subs each lunchtime to the point where the line stretches out the door. I had just seen the last of the lunch crowd smiling and saying goodbye for the day to our energetic and upbeat host, Founder, sandwich artist and Jacksonville native Kevin Porter, an actor turned restaurateur -- known for roles including "Lazer" in Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story, plus appearances in Daredevil and General Hospital. Something that cannot be "acted" around was his genuine welcome and desire to roll out the red Hollywood carpet for all who make the journey (yes, it's a REAL red carpet)!! This sweet shop is the perfect size, and has a significant amount of Hollywood memorabilia all around to keep you engaged while chatting with Kevin as he works his magic. The sandwiches = creative in name and product with fresh being the operative word, this sandwich hit above its price point and I can't wait to try to the rest of the menu!
