Newk's Eatery is one of my favorite places when I want a meal that's fresh, nutritious, and reasonably priced. It's hard to beat the value--you can enjoy a quality meal for around $11 per person, which is rare these days. The food is consistently fresh, flavorful, and made with quality ingredients. It's nice to have a fast-casual restaurant where you can eat something that tastes great without feeling like you're sacrificing nutrition. The restaurant itself is always clean, including the dining area and restrooms, which says a lot about how they operate. Friendly service, great food, fair prices, and a spotless environment make this an easy five-star recommendation. I'll definitely keep coming back. read more

Headed over to Newks which is one of the staple restaurant here in Jacksonville Fl when we first came from New Jersey 10 years ago!. However, there is only 7 in the state of Florida. We settled on into experience Newks all over again. The restaurant opened at 11 am on Saturdays. I had the Ceasars salad with the salmon. Wifey had a soup and a half of the po boy sandwich when she could have had a whole sandwich. Both of us did not like the lobster bisque. My first choice was the new cheddar and cheese soup but I would have had to wait. The manager came over and asked how we liked everything. Customer service was at its finest. We were treated to the cheddar broccoli soup since we did not like the lobster bisque. Free refills with the decorative cups to take home as a plus! Money well spent and continue to reminisce about the first time we came to Newks over 10 years ago. Newks has changed but we enjoyed it. read more

While in Jacksonville, Florida for work, a coworker took me out to lunch as she said this place had great pizza, salad, and sandwiches. When walking in, I loved the vibe as it didn't just seem like a chain bakery/sandwich shop like Panera. My coworkers ordered at the register and I ordered via the kiosk. Food was bland. I got the chicken Cesar wrap and it was bland seems like they forgot the dressing and the mac and cheese tasted like pasta water it had no seasoning whatsoever. I was disappointed with the French Dip sandwich. There was hardly any meat in it. I have been here before and gotten one of these and a po'boy sandwich and it was a good size (what was inside). Not sure if they're cutting down on portions, but a french dip at Arby's is better in my opinion. There was so much bun compared to meat. There was one employee who really made it special for my Mom and me. It was Tristen. He was cleaning tables and we talked with him about what the back of his shirt said. He has such a delightful personality and attitude. When I needed to-go containers no one else in the work area paid any attention to me. As if I was invisible. But when Tristen saw me he came right over and quickly helped me with what I needed. He made our day! read more

I loved this place, the food was amazing. I got their combo deal for $13 which includes an entree (I got a marg pizza) and side (I tried the lobster bisque). Both were great, and very fresh tasting. Great quality for the price point. The lobster bisque was actually a lot better than some that I tried at a Tampa Seafood restaurant. There is lobster meat in there, and the pizza was cooked to order. I'll definitely be back soon! Cakes are also made in house which is admirable. read more

Newk's. First time. Wow so many choices! Well I decided on the Newk's Q. What is that? Well it is chicken, bacon, swiss,Swiss, signature white BBQ sauce on parisian bread. Excellent bread toasted. Great tasty sandwich. I picked coleslaw as a side and there were a large amount of choices of drinks. Unsweetened tea for me in a Newk's Cares cup highlighting ovarian cancer. That shrimp avocado salad with Greek dressing was the best thing I've had in a long time. I had it with the pizza which I added mushrooms to and that was really good too. I like that it's not too much crust, but the sauce almost tastes sweet. The staff was really accommodating for our group, which I appreciate. Although this was the most crowded I've ever seen this place, it was not too loud and we were able to have a productive discussion about this month's book. First of all, I love the food at Newk's. It's ALWAYS good. The Newk's Q (sandwiches and pizza) is amazing. I also think you get good value for your money. But I have to shout out the service at the location on Butler near Phillips highway. Every time I've been there the staff are friendly and helpful. On my last visit, Megan and Ashley were especially attentive. I hadn't been in a while and they helped me with my rewards. I was also hoping to get a table with an outlet so I could work and they were quick to clean one for me. Super helpful and nice. read more

I've always had Newks catered in at work but have never been to an actual location! I had no idea about their free breadsticks and crackers. They never brought those to the caters, odd! I enjoyed the Newks Club and the Chicken Bacon Club. They are warm sandwiches that you can pair with a soup, salad or side of Mack n cheese. Very yummy, food was fast and everyone was super friendly. We were looking for something somewhat healthy for dinner and stumbled upon Newk's. It's similar to a Panera or Corner Bakery I think - counter service soups, salads, and sandwiches. With the extra addition of pizza. We liked it much better than any Panera ever and about the same as a Corner Bakery. Basically it was good eats. I got the Newk's sandwich with chicken and white bbq sauce. The white bbq sauce here is unique and different than anything I've ever had. I liked it but it didn't taste like bbq to me so it was totally not what I expected it to be. So if you've never had white bbq sauce like me, know that it doesn't taste like regular bbq sauce at all. The Caesar salad on the side was average. My fiancé got the bbq chicken pizza and I think he made the better choice - it was by far the best thing on our table. Super tasty bbq sauce and well cooked chicken with red onions. So yum. We are definitely going to be looking out for more Newk's locations in the future! read more

Whenever I go to the Southside of town near JTB I like visiting Newks Eatery for lunch. Even though it's busy, I have not had to wait to0 long to get my food. It starts at the cash register where you place the order, they then hand you a number to put on your table so they can deliver your food. While I wait for my food I munch on their free thin breadsticks. Look out though, if you are counting calories, it still adds up. They also have free shredded cheese, croutons, peppers and pickles. If you call ahead for takeout there's a separate cash register for that. My usual go to is the Grilled Salmon Ceasar with Gorgonzola cheese, pecans and the Southern Salad with chicken salad grapes, pecans. They have so many items to choose from that next time I really must try other items and not limit myself. They also have beautiful looking desserts which I will try next time I visit. The staff is friendly, efficient and always get my order right. The only negative is the parking and traffic around this area. They share the parking lot with a Sushi and a Chicken Salad restaurant. Lunch time parking is quite a challenge. This does not stop me from coming though. I'll be back to explore the menu. read more

My wife loves their pizzas as they are always crispy and flavorful. I recommend to ask for the salad dressing on the side and never fill up on the free bread sticks. This restaurant is easy to find. It has a new vibrant look from the outside and the inside. The parking lot is a bit small. The only flaw on appearance I have is it kind of looks like a grocery store to me from outside. You will need to make sure you come in the correct door. One door is where you order at the register and then seat yourself. The other door is where you pick up online or call in orders. We made the mistake and had to walk across the restaurant to get to the correct register. The food we had tasted well prepared. The Mac n cheese did taste like it came from a presence barrel. The sandwiches had a fresh made texture. If you are in the area for any recreational reason and want an affordable lunch for yourself and or family we recommend this place as a must. read more

My boss ordered takeout for the office from this location. It's pretty cool that they have a website that they can set up for group ordering where each person can click on the link and add to the order individually. Our boss then went over to Newk's when our food was ready. I ordered the Ultimate salad, a regular salad with 3 kinds of meats: chicken breast, bacon and diced ham. I added olives to it just because and picked raspberry vinaigrette dressing (Don't judge me). It was amazing and more than what I could eat all at once so I just quietly grazed on it in the course of 2 hours while working at my desk. So far, I've never had anything I didn't like from Newk's and with so many locations I'm hoping that they will stay in Jacksonville. I'll keep coming back! read more

This Newks is brand new and running smoothly! I came for the soft opening and tried a few things and everything was great! Service: was friendly and helpful, even while still training Food: Delish! Everything we got was really good! I'm sure the help of all the corporate trainers and managers there helped to make sure everything was coming out correctly but I was really impressed how good it all was...especially the pepperoni pizza! They seem to cook the pizzas fast and really hot and it kinda crisps up the pepperoni and it's just so good! Store: nice and brand new! My colleague and I attended Newk's' training tasting Thursday at noon. The whole training experience was flawless. We were welcomed with a personal greeting. The counter server knew the menu and made recommendations. We ordered the grilled steak and received our meal within 10 minutes even though the place was packed. I love their sandwiches. Hot and toasty! We had enough time to enjoy our meal and get back in time for my conference call at 1 PM. The dining room was unique and inviting; vibrant yet comfortable. The restroom was attractive, well-stocked and clean. Newk's' staff has definitely taken a pledge to provide us with a great dining experience and they lived up to their pledge. Two thumbs way way up! Nothing special Black n blue salad had deli roast beef instead of hunks of steak. This would have been ok if it was in a Cobb salad. They talk about rare roast beef but what came was well done. A side of Grilled Salmon was way over cooked & dry. The mushroom soup had a big glob of flour in it. The only highlight was their Mac & cheese was some of the best I have ever had. read more
