Las Brisas has been in Fallbrook for ages and I think they got some new management in recent years. I ordered 4 burritos over the phone and they were ready in about 15-20 minutes. The lady at the front was nice and it seems like a chill place to eat, they also have seating outside. I used to eat here a lot growing up and I remember that the inside would have a good atmosphere. I got the Macho Burrito and it was a hefty burrito. It had good flavor and their green salsa was nice. For $18 it was a little pricy but it was on the larger side. One of the best California burritos I've ever had! I went here with two friends. We all got California burritos and all of us said the same thing. Everything was fresh and perfectly flavored, with the perfect amount of crisp on the fries and a well made tortilla. 5 Rolled taquitos for $9.99, and got a fish and shrimp burrito for $14.99. Price seems reasonable, staff is nice. Adequate parking and seating. Rip off. This was the most expensive michelada I have ever ordered in my life. They're actually cheaper in Las Vegas and in airports yet this little run down location is charging $17.24 for (1). Was it good? I mean it was ok, it wasn't worth 17.24, it was just a Pacifico. Additionally besides getting ripped off for $17.24, they also charged an additional 60 cents just for using my card. This is my favorite Mexican food in Fallbrook so far. The flavors and textures are fresh, flavorful, and feel so good; not overly salty like some other places. I ordered the combination plate #15 with green cheese enchilada, chile relleno, rice and beans. The chile relleno was almost as good as my suegra's who is from a little village in Mexico. I am usually disappointed when I order chile rellenos at other places because the egg is too fluffy, dense, dry or something is off. Not here, this was so delicious and authentic. Perfect! I also love the salad garnish to color the plate and add some good nutrients to the meal. The service is welcoming and quick. They give you chips and salsa to eat while you wait. The place is very clean, tidy, comfortable, colorful, and they play nice music at the perfect volume. And it's not the radio or TV with commercials like other places. I've decided to see who in Fallbrook has the best Mexican food. I'll try one cafe/food house/ restaurant each Sunday until I've eaten at each one. Todays review is Las Brisas, bcz they were actually open for breakfast I ordered what I thought was a machaca plate. W/extra onions and cheese. The menu posted said "desayano" (breakfast). No where did it say "burrito". I received a burrito; good sized. Taste was bland, little actual meat in it (mostly eggs). Disappointing to say the least. I rate their Mexican food as 2/5 stars only. But, they were actually open T 0800. Seems Mexico and in Fallbrook have forgotten how to make good Mexican food. Another restaurant next Sunday. Stay tuned. Definitely a new favorite of mine!! Their Mexican food was amazing!! Very authentic! I love their open salsa bar options and the chips are complimentary. Seating is available inside and some tables outside. Parking can get filled during rush times. They have lots of options!! I got the 1 enchilada and 1 taco combo plate that came with rice and beans. So so good! The chicken enchilada with green sauce was so good! And my husband loved the California burrito! Very filling. I also love that they have horchata and jamaica to drink. So refreshing! What's good in Fallbrook!? Las Brisas Taqueria! Not too busy. Easy to get in and out of with decent parking. Their food is muy bueno! The place is clean and serves up delicious food at reasonable prices. Their burritos are better than most I've had throughout San Diego County. Their house made chips are thick and crunchy. My only problem is that they are too big for the mini cups of guacamole that they provide... bummer. I suggest dining in but take out isn't bad either. Plan to stick around here since their salsa bar is worth a visit or two. Unlike some taco shops that I've been to, their sauces have flavor and the right amount of hotness to them. If you're looking for a place to eat in Fallbrook and don't want a burger, fried chicken or sushi, this is an excellent option. You can thank me later! Terrible service. While waiting patiently for my order (three separate items) I attempted to get some salsa from their self-serve salsa area. Two of the salsas were completely empty. I watched the cook prepare my order. She seemed confused. When she handed me my order, I asked if everything was there, reminding her what my items were. She nodded. But just as I was about to leave, she stops me, looks in my bag and the items, says something in Spanish and then proceeds to take out two items then replaces them with two other items. I understood it as her correcting a mistake. Again I asked if everything was okay. She said "si" When I got home, I discovered she'd given me a wrong item. After calling the restaurant and speaking to their cashier (who fortunately spoke fluent English), I was told to return to the restaurant. She said the cook would have my correct item ready when got there. The drive to and from the restaurant is about 20min each way. When I get to restaurant, she hadn't even started on my order item. When I write a review for a business, I'm very honest about the food, the service, and of course the ambience. This restaurant was recommended by a customer my brother-in-law drove for here in Fallbrook. So, this evening, my family and I decided to go ahead and try the food from this restaurant. My brother-in-law called in the order, and when we got back home with the food, the order was wrong so, he called the restaurant and told them that they gave the wrong food on one of the plates. They told my brother in law to come back to the restaurant and pick up the correct plate, which was a fajita plate with chicken and beef. The food was awful, number two the presentation was awful number three this was not a fajita plate and it did not have any chicken as requested. It was carne asada meat mixed with bell peppers in the middle. They put lettuce with raw onions on the left side of the meat and they put fries on the right side of the meat. The two compartments on the top they put a small spoon of rice and a small spoon of refried beans. One of the requests is that the tortillas to be flour but instead it was corn. When my brother-in-law arrived at the restaurant, he said the reason the first order was wrong is because it was a new person handling it. So if this was a second mistake in the same evening, same customer who are they gonna blame now. As far as the service awful service according to my brother-in-law, the ambience was not all that. The floors were dirty and presentation was not that well. So here's the worst part, I started eating my food, and as I dug into the refried beans a bit down and there was a sharp object of some sort that poked my tongue and poked/cut the inside of my mouth. I immediately grabbed a napkin and pulled the object out. I have attached a picture and it is basically a thorn of some sort with many sharp thorns around it. I'm always a little skeptical about ordering Menudo from any restaurant since they always water it down and some really dont taste great. But I will say that this place surprised me. I was absolutely in shock bc it tasted similar to my mother's recipe. That being said this will definitely be my spot for Menudo. So went here on a limb after grocery shopping. The chorizo breakfast burrito was on point(only 1/3 of it shown). If you just like meat and eggs then maybe not for you. This had also beans, potatoes, white cheese, salsa, and onions. Unlike most BF burrito that have that stuff it is usually too much potatoes and beans... this one was perfectly balanced where it was a potato here and there and the perfect layer of beans. The rolled tacos... had some that where beef and some chicken. These are likely pre hand rolled but never frozen. They are topped with sour cream, white cheeses, lettuce, and Roja salsa. Supper yummy. The salsa verde is one of my favorites this one was on point more depth than most and a little spice but not where it overpowers what you eat. I will be back here for sure! I don't get why people think this place is good food wise, it was pretty bad. Also a taquito isn't a taco, there's a difference between the two. The service woman behind the cash register forgot to give my aunt a water and never said hello or thank you for coming. Service wasn't that good either.
