My husband found this place and we both agreed that we would have our family vacation here. we booked a month before and all the cabins were booked. we were all able to book a tee pee for 2 nights and a cabin for 2 nights. The grounds here are so clean. they have like a thousand workers constantly picking up trash and gardening. this is the cleanest camp ground i have ever seen and i have a camping resort membership in the states. They have 2 regular pools, one with a diving board and a slide, a smaller pool, a wave pool and a water park for the little ones. you have to be less than i think its 4 feet tall to go in the water park. i loved that because there werent teens or older people being rough alongside the little ones. they also have paddle boating thats included. you can rent horses for an hour tour or quads, zip lines and canopy tour for an extra cost. When we checked in, it took like 45 minutes. it didnt seem like everyone knew what they were doing. my husband paid for the 4 nights when he booked the vacation, however, upon arrival we were told it would be 30$ PER PERSON PER DAY just to be at the campground. i dont understand why that just isnt included when you book your nights stay. its stupid. camping in the tee pee was ok. ill post pics. there is a grill and the tee pee has mats to sleep on but you bring your own bedding and blankets. there is a bathroom with showers and dressing rooms near by and they have hot water. depending on when you go, you may want to take a fan. there is a hiking trail that leads to the tee pees and while we were there we did see several people from the trails come down to check out the tee pees, even open the, to see inside which is not cool because people rent them! there are not locks, you can only tie them closed. i did have to tell some teens that those were being rented and they cannot just open someones door. they do have a worker come up and stay for a couple hours throughout the day. but they may want to put up a sign that although you can take pics by the tee pee's you cannot just go and open them with peoples personal belongings inside. the cabins were clean and had 1 bedroom with 2 bunk beds, a bathroom with shower and toilet, a main room with a sort of futon, i will post pics. there are 2 sinks, lighting but no ceiling fan so it does get hot during the day. make sure you bring chairs,sun block, a fan, charcoal, pots/pans flashlights, knife, radio, umbrella, and regular camping stuff. there is no restaurant inside the grounds but they do have fruit stands, a chicken stand during the day. my husband went outside and to the left, there are meat markets close by and they will marinate the meat for you if you like. there is no laundry mat inside either. we did find one across from the calimax. you have to bring your own detergent but she will wash and fold your clothes for about 5$ a load. if you can do the zip lines. even our kids did it and they were begging to go again. its pretty pricey but you do 5 of them i think. at they pool with the slide they have a dj and dancing its pretty cool. the wave pool has a dj also. if you want to stay here book a cabin in advance. you will have fun! oh, you can take your own quads! read more

We went on their Canopy Tour- 5 ziplines and 5 bridges! Definitely worth the trip from Ensenada. Bring cash! Didn't have and paid a little more for using a card. Our entire family loved it. Guides were friendly and super patient. They have free lockers to stow your bags, but if you bring your camera/phone, they will take pictures of you along the way. Wish I would've kept some $5s with us to tip the guys. Once you get on the 4th zip line, you don't see them again. They also provide water to you at the halfway point. We got on a bus from our cruise ship that cost $4 pp RT. That company can sell you tickets from their depot. They accept CASH ONLY. So be prepared. $55 pp gets you your bus RT, Canopy Tour, and La Bufadora. You can add on horseback riding for $20 extra. But, if you don't head out early, you won't have enough time to do it all. Las Cañadas is about 45 minutes from Ensenada. Canopy Tour takes at least an hour if you go at a moderate pace. La Bufadora is approximately 40 minutes from Las Cañadas. read more

our visit to las canadas campamento rounded out a fabulous family weekend! we started with 2 nights in valle de guadalupe...then 2 nights in ensenada. so day 1 in ensenada we checked into our hotel and headed down here. A friend recommended this spot to me and i'm so glad she did!!! we as well as our teen kids had a fabulous time!!! we did the zipline experience...we were able to pay with credit yard (yay!) it was all super duper fun. I told my sis about it and we are planning on making a bigger family trip....maybe camp here and experience more of the facilites. It seems that the cruise ships do excursions here...other folks we met were here on excursions ...and our tour guide asked us what cruise we were on (we weren't...we drove here from home)..haha! My point of mentioning the cruise is that if you're nervous about communicating...most everyone here spoke excellent English =) I guess also if you're worried about safety...cruise ships aren't going to send their passengers to an unsafe place. I wasn't concerned about either, since we are regular's in Baja...but I understand that some may like this assurance come check it out! have fun read more

First time visiting Las Cañadas Campamento and probably not the last!! We stayed the long labor weekend with family and friends on the tipis and loved it. I'm very picky of where i camp or spent the night in. but these exceeded my expectations. there are also some cabins, but the entire park it's designated for tent camping that we learn that you don't need reservations and are WAY cheaper then cabins or tipis.. park was clean and well maintained bathrooms well kept. same for the pools. They have tons of employees and ALL were nice and kind everywhere. You can bring as much alcohol you want just don't bring glass bottles. We did zip lining at night and it was awesome!! You can also bring your atvs or just rent them there. Overall a great experience Thanks to all the staff for making it memorable!! And for giving us the space we needed. read more

Perfect family retreat! Bring a tent and set up camp or rent a cabin if you prefer. You can also stay at one of the teepees. There's ziplines, hiking, live music, horseback riding and then some! Lights out at midnight, so you are rest assured a good night's sleep. There are bathrooms and showers throughout the park. However, I would suggest family bathrooms/restrooms. The lines for the female restrooms/showers are double than at the men's facilities. That would really help with the long lines. Also, why are the floors inside the bathrooms and the access ramps always wet? The slippery surface could cause one horrible accident. I almost suffered one myself! read more

Buy a day pass and go early in the morning. We have two teenagers and came at 10am, left at 3 and they were begging to stay. Best employee ever said folks, get to work here- you have so much to do ummm we did. Can't even list what is available but the wave pool is a huge hit, the paddle boats all free with your admission- we did extra zip lines can't be beat. Everyone is friendly. The chicken stand is delicious and can easily feed a family for $20. Wish we had stuff like this in the states - like a KOA but way better. Like beyond. Absolutely love this place. We went last year & rented 5 cabins for our group. We could of easily shared some as they sleep 6 & we only had 3 per party. Nevertheless we had a blast! There is so much to do from zipline, kids pool, adult pool, wave pool, a lake, horses, atv rentals, etc.... We just went back last weekend & decided to sleep in tents. We had a large group so we had a great time. I personally enjoyed the cabins better since they have their own bathroom but they do book up very fast so I would recommend making reservations at least a couple of months in advance. Speaking of bathrooms.... there's plenty of them all over the camp & they are kept extremely clean! The park is kept very clean too. They are very organized & know who's coming in & out at all times so no staying after hours if you didn't pay . The great part about camping here is that they have a seafood food stand, fruit stand & a store incase you don't feel like cooking you definitely will not starve. I love how there's also music groups that walk around for hire. We hired a group who played for us for about 2 hours which made the evening more fun. read more

This campground is EVERYTHING!!!! I normally don't go camping AT ALL, but this place is sooo much fun that now my family and I come once a year for the kids AND adults to have some fun. Son and I went to this place during our 4 day Mexican cruise. We did the "canopy tour" which consists of zip lines and walking bridges. For the two of us it only cost $44.00. The workers speak English and made our tour very enjoyable and easy. I highly recommend hiring a taxi ($15 per person) and going to this place if you are on the Carnival cruise. It is WAY better than the zip lines the boat tries to sell at Catalina Island. This tour isn't offered through the boat, so you're on your own. I highly recommend it. I would not recommend getting any of the utvs because they are way more expensive and you can't use them for what they are designed. You'll end up paying for features you can't use because the speed limit is 10km/hr any where you go even on the trails, just get golf cart instead. I rented the utv Pioneer and got kicked out 10min into the rental without refund because I made a wrong turn and ended up the hill. The girl at the booth gave vague instructions and I kept an eye out for a sign or something that said "do not enter", but I only saw arrows which made things very confusing. Yeah In my opinion the utv rentals are not worth the money because they cost more and your are not allowed to use them on the hill; you can pretty much just use them as a golf cart to drive around the camp. Not sure about this but I think security was shaking me done for a bribe. read more

Like other reviews before me, this ended up being our excursion for the day when we got off our Carnival cruise. Reading the reviews on Yelp and TravelAdvisor made this place seem perfect for our large group of 20. We found someone in town who took our group here to zipline and took us back to the dock for somewhere ~$50 USD. Mind you, this was about an hour drive away and included in this price was the option to stop where we wanted. I think the typical price to just zipline is somewhere around ~$20 USD so I think the pricing was fairly reasonable. On to the zipline experience itself! This was actually my first *real* experience with ziplining. To put things into perspective, I am deathly afraid of heights but when in Mexico... might as well zipline, right? I'm glad I did though because this place was awesome. You're not allowed to bring almost anything onto the zipline itself, so they offer a free locker at the start of the zipline. Something that I wish I was made aware of beforehand is that there are 5 different ziplines and 5 different aerial bridges. Each zipline is separated by these aerial bridges and of course, each aerial bridge has varying difficulties. They were all pretty physically demanding and at the end of the day I was pooped. The ziplines in between each bridge was a nice break, though. Couple of things I really appreciated were the free ice cold waters around zipline 3 or 4, and the fact that there's always a staff member or two to assist you for each section. Pretty sure I wouldn't have been able to conquer my fears (somewhat) if they weren't there helping me. All in all, this was a great group excursion that was both unique and affordable. Ensenada is best known for its port, its tourist trap of a downtown, Mexico's premier nearby Guadalupe wine valley, and being home of the oh-so revered baja style fish taco. But not many are aware that just 20 minutes south of downtown is the most amazing, family-friendly, glamping meets-water park and outdoor adventure oasis, Las Canadas Campgrounds. I've visited these campgrounds three times over the past 5 years, and the experience keeps getting better. Entrance to the campground is $25 per person (children shorter than 40 inches are free) per day and this gets you access to a nice, grassy campsite, 3 pool areas including a kids pool, a gorgeous wave pool, paddle boating on a serene lake, a water slide on the side of a large hill, playgrounds, and much more!! For an extra fee the kids can ride ponies, you can go horseback riding, go on a ziplining and suspension bridge adventure (this experience is phenomenal and merits it's own review), and ride atv's. The fun and amenities don't stop there-- Las Canadas has an open air amphitheater with live musical entertainment on weekend evenings, there are also food (rotisserie chicken meals, ceviche, fish tacos), ice cream and pan dulce stands, convenience stores with food, drink and all of your camping needs (tents, blankets, kitchenware and more!). There is a 200 inch LED TV set up on the 2nd floor of 'El Granero' one of the convenience stores AND at the Ampitheater for special televised events. On our recent trip, we joined hundreds of campers as Mexico battled Brazil in a World Cup soccer game Here is a rundown of key information: NO RESERVATIONS CAMPING No reservations (RIP Anthony Bourdain) are needed to camp at Las Canadas. At the park entrance, pay for however many days/nights you'll be camping, and go off off to choose your campsite. Most campsites are in grassy areas with shade trees. All sites have 4 electrical outlets, running water, and a bench. During the summer, pay for 2 nights of camping and you get an additional night for free! NOT A CAMPER? STAY IN A TEEPEE OR A CABIN Perched on two different hills overlooking the campgrounds, you can stay in a simple cabin or a teepee. Reservations are required. Accommodations are bare. You'll need to bring your own bedding, towels, etc. ZIPLINING AND SUSPENSION BRIDGES ADVENTURE (AKA Canopy Tour) If you are ok with heights and are up for a 1.5 hour adventure, you absolutely must try the Canopy Tour. For $25 you'll cross 5 suspension bridges (none have complete planks) and take 5 zip lines across the pristine lake and other picturesque areas of the campground. The staff are accommodating. They provide a quick training prior and are with you along the way to demonstrate how to cross the bridges, etc. The process is completely safe. I've done the Canopy Tour 3 times and each time, everything ran smoothly. You can't beat the price for such an incredible experience! POOLS AND HILLSIDE WATER SLIDE Cool down in the various water areas at Las Canadas. There are 4 distinct pool areas-a kids pool, a pool with slides, a Mayan themed pool, the newly added wave pool, and a hillside water slide. The kids pool is perfect for children 4-10 yrs old. There are tons of slides, water squirting everywhere and even a large bucket that fills up with water and falls on one of the main slides periodically. The kids pool theme is complete with a pirate ship, dragon and other kid friendly sea animals. The pool with slides is for older kids and swimmers as there are deep areas of the pool. Next to the pool there is a large jacuzzi that can accommodate 25+. The Mayan pool is adjacent to the pool with slides. This is the smallest of the pool areas with a draw towards tweens and adults more than kids. The wave pool was added in 2017 and is nicely done. The waves are generated on 15 minute cycles. The waves are rough! I wouldn't recommend for small children or weak swimmers. In the summer, the wave pool is open until midnight. At night, the pool is illuminated with tons of colorful lights. There is also a live DJ at this pool. If you love water slides, the 'tobogan' is tons of fun! You literally walk up to the top of a hill and slide down to the lower part of the hill. Staff are at the top and bottom to help you on and off the slide. RESTROOMS AND SHOWERS There are at least 4 major restroom and shower areas throughout the campgrounds. The restrooms and showers are cleaned thoroughly every morning and maintained throughout the day. Water pressure is decent in the showers and warm water is abundant. EXCELLENT SERVICE Staff are stationed all throughout Las Canadas and are easily visible as they all wear bright orange polo shirts. My friends and I went on a cruise to Ensenada for a bachelorette party. The future bride really wanted to go zip lining. If you're on the cruise, I highly recommend NOT purchasing the excursion through the ship. Once we arrived downtown, the excursions were available for purchase for half the price. The zip lining was at Las Canadas Campamento. We were able to do five different zip lines and crossed 5 hanging bridges. One of the hanging bridges was SO CHALLENGING and definitely not for the feint hearted. I liked that they ease you into it. The first hanging bridge was pretty easy to do. The first zip line was not to high either. You get a little taste of what you're getting yourself into. The second hanging bridge is the hardest. A few of the girls gave up on the hanging bridges after this one. Moving the carabiners in the middle of the bridge to the next section was also a little difficult. It's a little scary, but you can do it! You can also skip the hanging bridges if you would rather hike. I would recommend trying some of the bridges. They ended up being very fun. We asked if it was possible for us to zip line together and for a few of them they let us go at the same time. I wasn't able to bring my phone, but some of the girls brought phone cases that they could hang around their necks. I thought those were very useful. Overall, very fun! Definitely good for a first time zip lining experience. It probably wouldn't be as cool if you have zip lined somewhere with better scenery. This place was beautiful and amazing! Was on the Carnival Cruise and at our stop at Ensenada we had plan to come here. Getting there was the hard part because the price to zip line was $21 something but the transportation back and forth was the tricky part. The tour bus was gonna cost us $50-$55 each (there was 3 of us) for ziplining and the transportation back and forth. After walking around figuring out the best deal we decided to go with the taxi and that was $50 for all 3 of us back and forth to the camp then we paid the zip line there. Overall it only cost us $37 for the canopy tour (zip line & hanging bridges) and the taxi ride! The drive was about 22 miles away from the main area in Ensenada. The zip line and bridges were 10 altogether and some of the bridges were challenging but still fun!! The tour guides were really friendly, the park was well maintained and the equipment was very safe and secure. I can't wait to go back! You cannot beat the price at all. read more

Has many options for food and has a store that sells ice and firewood on top of basic necessities you might've forgotten, they even sell tents. First time zip lining. A good friend made reservations for us to go on this while we were vacationing in Ensenada. We paid around $32 per person which was reasonable for zip lining through 5 launch platforms. The canopy tour was a part of a larger amusement park which included ATV's and a water park along with a campground and a small petting zoo. Great place to take your family. It is crowded and parking can be challenging as there are no solid pavements just parking on dirt roads. Maneuvering around the parked cars can be challenging. There are two entrances- one for the campground and one for the amusement park. When we checked in, we were informed that we had to exit within 2 hours from the time we check into the zip line registration desk otherwise we would be charged $140 US for the use of the rest of the park. We prepaid this amount for our party of 8. So Tip#1: if you plan on only staying for the zip lining, watch your time. If you go back over your allotted time, you will not get your refund! Tip #2: have at least one person in your party speak Spanish otherwise communication will be challenging. Directions were in Spanish and only a few of the staff spoke English. Tip #3: if any of your party has bad knees, bad shoulders, any recent injuries, pregnant, any heart condition, you may want to reconsider. Although the zip lining was what we expected-exhilarating and a lot of fun, what we didn't expect were the hanging bridges in between. Even though the bridges added a little excitement to the tour, some were narrow planks and would sway side to side as each person attempted to cross. For those that didn't want to attempt the bridges, there were alternative steps alongside but one had to climb up quite a number of steps to get to the higher platform. Tip #4: bring a water bottle you can hang on your neck or on your body. It gets hot as you ascend and you get sweaty. The tour does provide cold bottles of water but it was at the third platform. We were really parched by then. One of our friends started getting dizzy and we had to try to get her quickly to the next spot for the water. During hotter months, this may be a problem as people may pass out from dehydration and the heat. Tip#5: You are not allowed to bring your phone on the tour although many brought it anyway. You run the risk of dropping the phone or breaking it if you tuck it away in your pocket. You are strapped with ropes and harnesses and you really don't have a free hand to take pictures while you zip line but some people were still able to. Bring your phone but know you assume the risk. Tip #6: Wear closed shoes. It gets dusty up there and you re hiking and climbing and trotting along narrow bridges so sandals may not be the safest footwear. Tip #7: Have fun! A must while vacationing in Ensenada. We went to Ensenada for three days and visited this campground for a day. We are a family of four and just me and my fiancé paid for entrance which was less then 30$ US dollars. We did 4 attractions. Splash zone for the kids was fun for my older son that could do the slides by himself. Adults are able to go in but I couldn't take my 2 year old on any slide kids only. That was the only bummer of the day the we couldn't enjoy the slides with them. Pedal boats. There was no wait we all put on clean life jackets and spent a good 40 minutes pedaling the kids and watching people zip line. No complaints Zip line. Paid about 26$ US dollars for me to do 5 suspense bridges and 5 zip lines. Since our kids were small me and my fiancé had to take turns which we wished we could of gone together but First my fiancé went he came back so excited saying we couldn't leave till I tried it. I was honestly scared. They make you sign a waiver then they get you into your harness. I wish I would of got the workers names that helped me out because they were ALL so professional and so nice they made me feel less scared then what I was. So once my harness was on we climbed up a couple of latters I was terrified by the time I was up there but 2 workers do the whole hike with you. One goes first then he walkies the other guy that hes ready and they send you off. I don't want to give away too much because surprise is part of the thrill. I will say that they are amazing they even offered two small Costco waters after a part of the hike which was really thoughtful. I was nervous to go by myself with out my fiancé but the workers are so professional I had to crack some jokes to ease my fear which they helped with. A true experience of a lifetime. I'm seriously recommending this place to all my friends and family. Last the wave pool. The wave pool was amazing we all got to enjoy the wave pool together as a family no restrictions here. We ended up buying a donut float at a stand so my son could relax in the waves it was worth every penny (6$) Pollo stand was delicious totally do lunch there Bathrooms all super clean they are everywhere and they have shower stall too. There a little market at the entry I didn't enter but my fiancé bought us drinks there super affordable Las Cañadas was super clean they had ALOT of workers cleaning up trash and at every attraction helping. Every worker we encountered spoke English and were super nice and helpful. Next time we will be camping there now we know how the park runs. read more

This has been our favorite family trip so far in Ensenada. Great family experience both for the kids and the grown ups. Clean environment and they are on top of the restrooms being sanitized also trash cans all around, showers always had warm water. DO NOT COME HERE. THEY ARE UNPROFESSIONAL & THIEVES. If I could give this no stars I would. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE EVER. We came to Ensenada all the way from Los Angeles to visit family & come just for this place with 11 PEOPLE IN A CAR so excited and eager to experience the water park with my family and ended up with the most unprofessional experience I've ever encountered. My mother previously purchased the tickets the night before SATURDAY August 7th at 11:30PM keep in mind the water park is open from 7AM-6PM. After the purchase my mom realized that the SYSTEM put the date of the tickets for THAT SAME DAY for SATURDAY AUGUST 7th mind you this was a purchase of 11TICKETS. My mom quickly tried calling them to let them know that the system automatically reserved the date for the same day which makes absolute no sense because the water park CLOSES AT 6PM & the tickets were purchased at 11:30pm at night !!!!! No answer from the business. We called multiple times and even the next day very early at 7am when they open. Still no answer. So we decided to take the hour drive to the park in hopes that they would resolve this horrible situation that was ABSOLUTELY NOT OUR FAULT. And at least change the date for the day it was supposed to be. We get to the park and speak to the MANAGER. This man was SO RUDE AND TRULY EMBARRASSED US in front of all his staff and the park visitors. We tried to tell him that the system automatically put us for a date when the park was closed already and he responded to us by saying "no that's not true the system doesn't mess up the people need to choose they're reservation date so that cannot happen" " I know this because I've been working here for 2 years and I've experienced many things" as if we were lying about it ?!!!! We came at him in a professional way and he ended up screaming in our faces saying "but do you guys have a reservation for today tho?" repeatedly talking over us and not letting us explain what happened. SUPER UNPROFESSIONAL AND EMBARRASSING. It was like he just wanted to argue with us because he didn't want to be wrong ! Eventually he was telling us "if you guys don't have a reservation for today then leave already" & threatening if we don't leave "we will regret it". I honestly cannot believe what I just experienced this place is completely unprofessional as we were leaving the staff members were laughing at us. SO EMBARRASSING! Hopefully we get our money back!!!!! read more

Ok so honestly this is the best place to camp! I went with a good size group and we were able to find a nice spot to set up camp! We went to all pools and the wave pool is such a fun spot for the whole family! My daughter and her cousins loved loved loved the kids play land! Everything about this place was super clean, bathrooms were clean, and pool areas were clean! Zip lining was sooo worth it but prepare for a workout! We even conquered a hike to the top! Saw a concert there on Saturday! The had little convenience stores to get some last minute things if needed! Absolutely loved this place! Going to come back next year! read more

Super fun zip lines and suspension bridges. Our guides were really awesome and made sure we were having fun and safe. Our lead guide was Brandon and he was amazing. He made the tour fun and offered to take a lot of pictures during the tour. I worked for a guiding company in the states for years that did zip lining and this company has this tour dialed in really well. I never felt unsafe and the gear is all top quality. I would recommend this over the Bufadora all day long. We actually took a taxi from the cruise ship and saved a lot from signing up on board the ship. read more

We took an Uber here from Hotel Corel and Marina. It was worth the drive over! Me and my wife spent most of the day here. The zip lines were fun, one of the guides took my phone and ended up taking great photos of us crossing two of the bridges (tipped him $5) the walk up to the flag is beautiful. The peddle boats were fun and included with the day pass. If you plan to spend the whole day their take your swimsuits but we will definitely actually be staying there in a cabin for a few days when we return. Staff was real friendly. read more
