Very nice and friendly staff. If you are unsure about anything, ask away and they'll try to explain or describe anything on the menu. I decided to go for a carnitas burrito. Oooooh, wheee, this was a big fat bomb. Couldn't finish it in one go, so saved half for another time. And held up really well after being refrigerated for a day, then air fried the next day to heat up. Carnitas were chunky and tasty. Rice was well seasoned. Salsa verde rocked. Most authentic Mexican food in Cherry Hill by far. I've been to several places in the area and most of the time I am disappointed by high prices and dry, bland meat. This place is the exception. Carnitas and barbacoa are juicy, tender, and have deep flavor. I wish I could have gotten the cabeza, but they were out of stock today. I'll definitely have to come back to try it. read more

We happened to come in on their 5th year anniversary and unintentionally got a great deal on top of the lower prices. Food was extremely fast. I had my usual taco craving and decided to look for a place that was close by. I searched and found La Nova. I'm not sure how I ever missed this place before since I used to frequent the area a lot when I lived in CH. Anyway, I found La Nova and planned my visit there. Parking was plentiful, so I found a spot close to the restaurant. Upon entering, I was greeted by a warm, friendly young lady who handed me a menu. I quickly reviewed the menu and decided what I wanted to try. For my appetizer I tried the nachos that came with queso fresco and refried beans. For my entree I went with the steak and chorizo tacos, rice and beans. The nachos arrived quickly. They were delicious. The refried beans and queso were perfectly paired and the hot sauce provided by the restaurant was soooo good. It gave me the right amount of heat and flavor together. A few mins later, my tacos, rice and beans arrived. My tacos were completely packed with meat, just the way I like 'em. The chorizo really elevated the flavor of the beef. The refried beans actually accentuated the flavor of the rice once I mixed them together. The sides were good, but the highlights of my experience were the chorizo and nachos. I think La Nova has a solid foundation and is a staple for those seeking to have a traditional Mexican meal in Pennsauken. I would revisit the restaurant again if I were in the area. read more

Looks like a dive but the food is VERY good! A BYOB joint with a low maintenance appeal but expansive menu. Our server was very sweet and patient. We had big plans to get nachos and the tacos but were super full after the nachos. We really enjoyed it here and would come back if we make our way back to Jersey. read more

We stopped here on a Friday evening in July for tacos after reading some of the reviews. The reviews were spot on. We each had orders of 3 tacos. My husband had the Bistec y Chorizo (Steak & Sausage) and I had the Birria (brisket). Both were made to order and delicious. I also had a Horchata and my husband a Mango Fresh water drink. We also had an order of chips and freshly made pico de gallo. Everything was delicious, the service was prompt and courteous. In terms of ambiance, it is a taqueria, so it is very casual, but they do provide table service and serve on china plates with silverware. We would definitely come back if we were in the area. These are tacos of the flavor and quality we have had in California where we used to live. read more

LaNova was a surprise for our party of three. We were expecting a larger place but don't let the fact that it is a "hole-in-the-wall strip shopping center kinda restaurant. The minute you enter you are draped in the wonderful aromas of true Mexican food. I just knew we would love whatever we ordered! There was non-stop take-out & deliveries. I pretty much closed my eyes & pointed to something. I could have been happy with a number of items but I was delighted with my. Beef & chorizo tacos. Amazing birria tacos! Perfectly cooked steak and very flavorful jus for dipping...every detail is done just right.

What a hidden gem. It's close to my work so I eat here frequently. After first time I had it, I was hooked. I haven't had anything bad here yet. My go to is El Pastor tacos on flour tortillas and the shrimp tacos are a close 2nd. Always hot. Always fresh. The restaurant is small but clean. Staff Is friendly. It's a simple dish that's easy to make but easy to screw up and this one checked all the boxes the cheese was fresh, the lettuce and Crema Wonderful, the crumbles of Cotija, delicious, and the salsa Rojo y Verde tasty. Oh man, giving South Philly a run for its money. Came here for lunch last week and the the birria tacos. Fantastic. Tacos were nice and crispy, the consume actually wasn't that heavy and was absolutely delicious. And best of all it had a decent kick without any other salsa needed. Of course they gave you the salsas too if you want but I was fine without them (who knows how spicy those are...). The meat was nice and tender and the quantity of food was great. This is the spot ya'll. I apologize for the lack of photos, I just devoured the food! I moved here from California and had yet to find a Mexican Restaurant that delivered that same home style comfort and flavor that I miss so much. First visit we ordered chicken burritos for delivery-- they arrived timely, still hot and pretty neat--you can't help the bottom of the tortilla getting a little soggy when transporting it, so that is something I took into consideration when ordering a burrito to be delivered. It was still absolute fire! So good I ate half for breakfast the next morning! Next I went to pickup some tacos and their Monday Special: Molotes (I got Tinga--Chipotle Chicken) Tacos were exactly what I wanted--great flavor, fresh, and ready when I arrived for pickup. I have never had a Molote so I didn't know what to expect aside from my google search. It's basically a fried tamale filled with your choice of potatoes, shredded chicken or chicken tinga. The Molote was huge and I would definitely order it again, but probably to eat in-house since it's soft and fried, I wouldn't recommend it for delivery--it's meant to be eaten immediately out of the fryer. It'll probably reheat in the toaster oven just fine though. If you're wondering where they pack the heat in New Jersey, it's on La Nova's salsa verde. I LOVE spicy so that wasn't a problem for me, but be warned that it creeps up on you. Great flavor! I'll be a regular. I would love to see them expand to an even bigger location, because this is off the beaten path a bit. Try them out, boost their reviews and let's patronize this business and let's keep their doors open. Rave to your friends to try them out too! Five stars! read more
