I just had ice cream next door and I wanted to try their tacos so I ordered two shrimp tacos. Ordered it to go, but ended up eating there. It was delicious! I had the regular tacos and the shrimp was super flavorful. Each bite was heaven.

If you like vegetarian burritos, but charged for a meat burrito, this is your place. There's nothing worse than overpaying for your food and and having a horrible experience! Ordered 3 burritos, 1 carne asada and 2 al pastor burritos and got served rice burritos with almost no meat or beans. Went up to the cashier and told her about the meatless burritos, and she didn't say or do anything to make up for the shortfall. Poor customer service and poor food quality. Don't know how they have such a high rating when they lack it all. Avoid them at all costs, try another food truck instead! I honestly would give no stars!

Las Cabanas is tucked away on MLK Jr Way a block away from University Ave. Parking is a little challenging but you can always park on Hearst and it's definitely worth a visit. The staff is friendly and food is prepared promptly after ordering. I'm obsessed with their Baja fish burrito which you can get it grilled or fried, and upgraded to a super burrito. The garlic cream sauce is addicting and tasty, plus the fish is always fresh and succulent. I also love the avocado & cilantro salsa. I honestly think about this burrito at least once a day!

Literally love this taqueria! They got tons of options. But if you aren't getting the fried Baja Fish taco here you are missing out. You can have the option to have it grilled or fried. Both are good but its soo good fried. The steak fries are pretty yummy i love how they have a big portion and all the ingredients are really fresh. The chorizo breakfast burrito was perfectly packed to me and it was delicious. The only downside is their tortilla chips taste stale. I miss the freshly fried chips. The cashier was nice and my food came out at a reasonable time. There is plenty of seating with tvs around and i love the art work and vibe inside. I would definitely recommend coming to try this spot!

I just got churros from the truck at College and Haste. They are excellent. They are NOT premade and hardening under a heat lamp. They are made and piped with a dulce sauce with a side of even more awesome sauce. They made me happy the whole time I ate them. Nothing else mattered. I wish I hadn't eaten dinner before. Their food is even better than the churros! Real, excellent fare without the Bay Area prices. These guys are awesome!

So ordering online was a little weird. I couldn't order singular regular tacos and as the only option was 4 regular tacos. I also couldn't get the free Baja taco they had on the website because there was no option to add it to the order. I didn't mind getting 4 tacos but I wasn't sure if I could split the meats up. In the end, I just added in the comments 2 tripe and 2 cabeza and that worked. Both of the tacos were amazing and had a ton of flavor. The cabeza tacos though were so tender. The meat was fatty and literally melted in your mouth. The salsas that came with them just enhanced the tacos. The burrito was heavy, filling and well worth it. Chips were also included, but I don't know what they came with. It's decently big inside with about 20-30 seats and you order at the counter. Staff is nice but I don't think the cashier understood what I was talking about when I was talking about the online stuff. Parking is terrible, there is no dedicated lot and it's just street parking if you can find some. Overall the food was amazing but ordering online was a little confusing since some options aren't available. I'll probably be back because of the tacos were really good and they offer a wide array of meats.

    Really good!

Got the super nachos! The food was good and the service was great. A very humble restaurant that any Latino can feel at home in.

Solid burritos in Berkeley, and great location. No fuss, easy ordering, you get a number and they bring the food to you! Self-serve salsa bar (2 salsa cups per person). Personally loveddd their chips, were a bit thicker and I could tell they were fried fresh. The burritos were totally the highlight here. Usually I don't feel the need to comment about tortillas, but these were so good and the fajita burrito had grill marks which I loved. Carbs asada was great, bit mixed on the pollo asado... texture was a bit rubbery and the flavor was almost Asian. Not in a bad way, just a flavor profile I'm not used to in Mexican food! We also ordered two salads as a lighter option, and they were just okay. The taco salad shell was crispy and flavorful, but most of the inside was just lettuce, wish there had been some rice to bulk it up. The shrimp salad was very plain. That said, I get that salads aren't usually the move at a Mexican spot. Go for the burritos!

It was kind of dead when we came, it made my sister question why I chose this place. Then a huge rush of people came after us and it was so full that there was no seating. This place was popping and seemed to be the place to go for a late night munchies. You can order with the cashier or they have a kiosk to the side that helps the line move along. I ordered the Baja Fish Fried Taco and my sister ordered the quesobirria de res, both delicious. The churros are a musts. This place really satisfied our hunger.

This was our first visit here. We had high expectations for it. Sadly, parking was a nightmare. We circled around for about 15 minutes until we figured "let's just park in the Trader Joe's parking garage" (which is not permitted). Anyways, friendly staff. But for the price, I have to say the food was mediocre. I ordered two shrimp tacos ($8/ea). And I counted only 4 little shrimps on my taco. The rest of the taco was loaded the veggies as pictured in my photos. More vegetables than shrimp which is highly disappointing for the price. My boyfriend ordered the quesabirria combo & he liked it, but again way overpriced. Not to forget-- you get a small little boat of chips when you order at the counter. They were stale! For getting there at opening-- we expected them to be fresh chips out of a bag at least not sitting out. We probably won't be back. We really wanted to enjoy it, but not this time around. :(

I was very disappointed in the drink itself. It was too sweet and very light matcha flavor. My friend also had the same drink and agreed. I asked the staff if they can add a bit more matcha, but they said it would be an extra charge. Fair, but for a known matcha place, my expectation was high. I expected to have more matcha in it. Ended up adding more when I got home. Probably won't get plain matcha latte again. Picture attached - milky green.

We had been to Tarocco for lunch and figured we would ask them for a quote, too. My daughter warned me that the owner is trying to be an "influencer" on Instagram and posts photos of herself in crop Tops so I should beware, but that's fine by me. We called to get a quote and had a discussion. After we gave the owner all of our information, she told us she wouldn't give us a quote unless we came in person (?!) Which is weird because this isn't how restaurants work. Typically for events restaurants will give you a quote via phone or email for the sake of convenience. We had gotten 3 quotes already from other restaurants via phone. Making us drive 45 mins just to get a quote is a total waste of time. Especially if we can't afford it. So my daughter called again, left a VM explaining we couldn't come in person due to time constraints, and again asked for a quote. No reply. We waited a few days and called again. No reply. Finally we got a voicemail from the owner saying that she didn't like my daughter's attitude ?!!! Apparently you're not allowed to ask this restaurant how much they charge for events unless you're face to face. This lady has absolutely no idea how to run a restaurant. We took our business elsewhere and recommend that you do, too.

The food always looked really good, but for whatever reason I always ended up ordering from somewhere else. Well, I finally did it. I finally ordered from Cali Alley, and all I have to say is, why did I wait so darn long? Door Dash was having a 2-for-1 deal on the Cali Alley Burger, so I ordered one of those (and got another for free) , as well as on the small mac and cheese, so I ended up with two of those as well. I got fries as he side for the burgers and saved the second burger and mac and cheese for the next day. I also bought a small side of veggie fried rice for lunch later in the week. OK, let's start with the fries ... wow. Super crispy. Don't know what they do to them, but I think I almost ate all the fries that came with one of the burgers before I even touched the burger. The fries seemed to have a coating like some fries do to make them extra crispy on the outside. Whatever it was, it made them so good, I couldn't stop eating them. I was almost too full for the burger. But who are we kidding? If there is one thing I am good at, it is eating more than I should. The burger, which is described on Door Dash as "char grilled, fresh ground brisket and short rib burger, served on a toasted brioche fun with crisp lettuce, tomato onion marmalade and garlic aioli" was thick and incredibly flavorful. I couldn't stop eating that, either. It was that good. I ordered it medium, and it was pretty pink, but it was sooooooo flavorful, and all the toppings worked well together. I didn't get any cheese on it because I wanted to try to burger by itself and not mask it with cheese. I might try adding cheese next time, but honestly the burger is so good, I almost wouldn't want to cover up its flavor with cheese. Oh, I almost forgot. When you order on Door Dash, you can opt to have them include a small side of their chocolate-chipotle bbq sauce, and I highly recommend that you get it. It's a really interesting flavor and is good for dipping the fries in. I didn't try putting it on the burger, but that might be good, too. The mac and cheese was OK. It's important to note that I enjoyed the flavor but it is more of an eggy consistency than a saucy mac and cheese if that makes sense. It has a nice kick of black pepper, which I liked, though. The vegetarian fried rice was also fine but could have used a little salt. All that to say, don't be like me and procrastinate, get the Cali Alley Burger and fries ASAP.
