I know you can add as many salsas or sauces as you want on your burrito/bowl, but for some reason, the DoorDash app only lets you pick two. So I called the restaurant and asked if they could add their cilantro lime salsa onto my bowl. The woman on the phone was super rude right from the start. I explained that the doordash app was wrong, and she even admitted they don't control it. If she knows the app is wrong, she should've just added the extra salsa like I asked. Instead, she argued with me, got an attitude, and then hung up on me.... over a simple request I canceled my order right after that. If you can speak to your customers like that and hang up on their faces, I'd be scared what you'd do to my food. I won't be ordering from here again, and I hope others are aware of how poorly they treat customers over something so small.

T L D R Decent burritos, friendly staff. Walking distance from the Amtrak depot. L O C A L E : What was once an area teeming with factories and trucking terminals in the 1960s is now a center for biotech companies and even Pixar. Tucked between the Powell Street bridge over the tracks and a 76 Gas station is Best Coast Burritos. parking is available right out in front. T H E F O O D : Like most taquerias, walk right in up to the counter pick your burrito, and they load up that giant tortilla as you watch. I ordered their shrimp and carne asada burrito, and they were not shy at all about loading it up! The large-ish shrimp is pan fried right up on the spot and tasted awesome inside the burrito. The rest of the burrito itself was alright but maybe it's because of too much stuff inside. Carne Asada inside was ok, nothing to write home about. Next time, I'll go a little lighter on the sour cream and guac. Horchata is on point. Plenty of small tables and metal chairs inside to sit down and enjoy your meal. They have other selections too like tacos, so maybe that next time. 3.5 stars!

I'm confused how I didn't leave a review on my previous visits. I'm not in the Bay Area often but this is a spot I try to stop at if timing is right. I grew up in San Diego so I'm a burrito snob Highkey lol. The California here is pretty good. Tried an asada taco before. Just tried the Korean burrito which I really enjoyed and the Jamaica drink. It's easy to miss as it's located next to a gas station in the same lot. Service is fast, staff is friendly, and it has some nice wall art decor to add to the aesthetic as you eat. Not the BEST BURRITO ever but STILL DANG GOOD!! I recommend trying beat coast for sure

Love how they cook your burrito fresh!!! The Korean Burrito is my favorite, but I would do half the orange sauce (sriracha mayo) and half green hot sauce.

The California Burrito w/ Carne Asada

We needed an easy takeout option for lunch since we were working from home that day and we defaulted to getting a burrito! We wanted to try something different than usual, so we went to Best Coast Burritos, which specializes in San Diego style burritos. We ordered a California burrito which had carne asada and fries. Overall, it was an ok burrito but felt pretty one-dimensional in flavor. We wish we had asked for some kind of salsa on the side to add a bit of acidity and freshness. I also wish fries were crispier, but maybe that's not a thing for California burritos!

Going to a restaurant called best coast burritos, your expectations will be super high. Well, I was very happy that they did, in fact, have some of the best burritos. I built my own burrito, and I kept in vegetarian. I did add the Sriracha sour cream to the burrito for a little razzle dazzle, and it was good! It has a nice kick to it, so if you don't like spicy, then of course don't get something with a spicy sauce in it! Also, I judge burritos/taco spots by their chips. First, chips don't come with it and is ordered separately. However, it's certainly worth the add on! They were not stale, and I had a hard time trying to stop eating them! This place is very clean as well! They kept the food counter clean and the dining in area was also clean. Definitely coming back.

Surf and Turf Burrito - pretty big! I finished the whole thing for lunch and needed to food coma
    Annabelle H.

I tried the surf and turf burrito because it looked interesting, and I was surprised it was decent! Their asada is pretty yummy and so is their shrimp, so it seems like they're using fresh ingredients! I probably wouldn't order the surf and turf again though because I think I prefer them separately. Also, because the burrito doesn't include beans, and I know proteins are expensive, it kind of felt like I was eating a rice burrito with some shrimp and meat. So if you do want to try this one, I recommend adding beans for $.50 for a more balanced carb burrito with beans and rice. Because their proteins were tasty though and the salsa was also quite delicious, I'm sure their other burritos are promising, so I'd like to try more! The tortilla around the burrito was also yummy and crisped nicely. Can't speak to the ambiance of the restaurant since I ordered delivery but it came quickly, so it seems they have quick service during lunch!

    BCB Super Fries
    Joan A.

3.5/5 TL;DR: I recommend the California burrito. The BCB fries are good albeit a bit limp, but maybe hold the sour cream. I came here on a whim after wanting to try it out for years. I once saw a picture of someone's burrito from here and was so jealous I bookmarked it but then didn't try it out until this week. I got two tacos, the California burrito, and BCB fries. Getting everything on the burrito and fries included guac, whereas everything in the taco did not - guac is extra since it isn't factored into the price for those. Since the food is made to order in front of you the service is really quick. I was a little confused when they asked if I wanted rice and beans in my taco (which was $3.95 by the way). No because that's an abomination and also the tortillas for the tacos are already so small there's no way to make it all fit and still get enough meat. So I got carnitas tacos and asked for salsa, cheese, and a little bit of sour cream. A little bit of sour cream ended up being two huge dollops that I had to scoop off later. Really it's my bad for wanting sour cream in my tacos. For the fries, same thing - but I do have a picture of those for reference. Next time I'll skip any sour cream. The burrito had al pastor, the tacos were carnitas, and the fries had carne asada. All three were well prepared and flavorful. They're medium-pricey for tacos and burritos. The location is a bit hard to get to depending on where you're coming from. While the food itself was good, there's so much competition I don't think I would go out of my way to come back.

Located next to a Chevron, there's a few parking spots available for 15 minutes use for pick-up orders. Came on a Wednesday around 11am en route to San Francisco, and they were pretty empty as people really only came to pick up their orders and leave. Ordered the California burrito with a Mexican Coca-cola. It was a moderately-sized burrito, I ate 3/4 of it until I faced a dilemma- do I stop eating now when I'm full but have a measly 1/4 of a burrito leftover which isn't satisfying as leftovers, or do I eat that last 1/4 piece that will make me feel uncomfortably bloated? Eventually I just gave the leftovers to my boyfriend to eat with his leftover 1/4th to have the perfect amount for his next meal. Overall it was ok, the carne asada meat bits were small and a bit sparse, and I would've liked for the tortilla to be more toasted and a have more of a crisp texture. Service was quick and the cashier was nice, as she was able to open our bottle of coca cola for us. It was a bit pricey for a mom and pop type of place, but it's probably to offset the cost of being in a prime location next to a gas station?

I pulled in here never hearing of it and found one of the great breakfast burritos of all time! Get the Korean beef in the breakfast burrito, you'll be glad you did! And I always get it with refried beans and a side of sriracha cream

I ordered steak nachos and somehow got nachos covered in rice, barely any meat (if any at all), and a laughably small portion for the price. On top of that, they were made with the same stale chips. Sinceramente me molesta haber gastado dinero aquí. No regresaré.

We ordered the duck carnitas, summer tamales, and kids' quesadilla, along with the roasted beats and a strawberry agua fresca and horchata. The hearty masa in the tamales had a the texture of hand ground corn and was substantial enough to warrant chewing though. The beet -- tender and flavorful in itself -- was paired with a nutty, spicy mole like a thick paste, bright with its herbs. The agua fresca was a summertime blast of fruit. Yes, yes. The prices on the menu are $5-10 more than the menu on their website. It's a nice dining room, but very loud and the piped-in music makes it worse: I couldn't hear what my date was saying across the table. We started with the smoked trout tostadas. This is kind of ceviche style, and they were delicious. These are "street taco" sized tostadas by the way. The portion was OK but for $20 it could've been a bit more substantial. The duck mole: the duck was nicely unctuous and cooked amazingly, but very salty. The mole had the consistency and taste of hummus. Needless to say it was thick, gloopy and tasted only of cumin. The little salad on the plate was plastered in it. The grilled swordfish Valencia style was just an overly sour salsa verde with a couple chopped green olives with the fish sitting in the watery liquid. The salsa had a kick, but tasted mostly of lime, it was also cold. The swordfish however was grilled perfectly and the portion was great--for $35 I'm glad it was. Beans and rice seemed an overly salty afterthought, and if you don't want beans, too bad, it's served in the same bowl as the rice. The service was almost non-existent--no one checked in on us or asked how things were; there seemed to be only one person taking orders in the dining room and three-four people running around. Our appetizer plates sat in front of us for 15 mins, so when the entrees arrived the runner had a hard time clearing the table and simultaneously putting down the entrees. We didn't see our server again until the end when she gave us the check. Suddenly the charm came on when the tip came up. I appreciate what they're doing, but for that price point there are far better options.
