I finally got the chance to try this place out, and I am so glad I did! Las Delicias is the perfect name for this restaurant because the food is definitely delicious. My husband is Guatemalan and I am Salvadoran, By birth we have pretty high expectations for all things pupusas and longaniza related. Las pupusas de loroco y las de revuelta (had to bust out the Spanish here!) were perfect and not greasy at all. Loroco is a Salvadoran flower bud that tastes kind of like spinach when cooked. Revuelta is a mixture of minced pork, beans and cheese- the trifecta of tastiness. As I said, both were excellent and reminded me a lot of how my grandma and aunts make them. In addition to the pupusas, we orderd yuca frita (fried yucca root) and sweet plantains. The yuca frita came with fried pork chunks that were killer! The only thing I would add is perhaps a side of mojo for dipping. Instead, I used the complimentary salsas and was perfectly happy. Not everyone likes to dip their yuca, I happen to be a dipper. The sweet plantains (platanos maduros) were just how I like them- lightly fried and not soaking in oil. You also get a healthy portion for the price. At the end of the night, my husband and I ate like kings and still had food left over to take home. This feast cost us the hefty price of.... $27. Yep, just $27 total for the BOTH of us for six pupusas, yuca frita, platanos, and soft drinks. You can't beat the price! Need I mention that this place is BYOB? Yes. Hell yes. So not only is the food tasty and cheap, but you can also bring your own booze which makes the deal even better. Looking over the menu I noticed they had virgin margaritas. Perhaps they will let you bring your own tequila? I know most BYOB places only allow beer and wine, but it couldn't hurt to ask next time! They also have michelada mixers- all you have to do is bring your own beer! In summary, this place is great. The food is tasty and on point with what Salvadoran and Guatemalan cuisine should be- delicious, inexpensive, soul satisfying food. read more

Really good. Our other Guatemalan restaurant closed down and we found this place by accident. My kids were so excited to see their favorite dishes on the menu they jumped up and down. We spend time in Guatemala each summer so I think we know good food and this place delights. The servers are also very sweet to my kids. It's a weekly stop for us. read more

Everything I've had here is great! I don't tend to like Guatemalan restaurants because it never tastes as good as my mom's food but this is the closest it'll probably get. Even she likes it! The soups are my favorite, a bowl of comforting, amazing flavors; go and have this on a cold day in winter (though I'll probably eat it all year long). The pupusas are good and I have tasted my family's plates and have been good. I recommend you go and try the Guatemalan and Salvadorian food on the menu. read more

Not really sure if I would give the pupusas five stars as the other reviewers have. I didn't find them to be special. I've had much much better. The masa is kind of dry, almost tasted like cardboard, the cheese is very good, it's good quality. The cabbage slaw is great! The decor is not special either. Even though it's not an old restaurant it gives the appearance of being so by their outdated tables and chair, and "decorations". One side has unified tables and chairs, while the other side is completely mismatched. The service is nice, it's very homey. Perhaps I'll give it another try for other dishes, but I won't go out of my way to eat the pupusas that I was so looking forward to tasting after reading all of the reviews. The prices are good, very affordable, the service is fast, but then again I tried it on a slow night. Las Delicias has good food and service, and i'd definitely return. Ever since El Tinajon closed i've been looking for a replacement, and their menu has all the Guatemalan specialities that El Tinajon had and more, namely Saladorean pupusas. Chips were fresh and warm, the green salsa was very tasty. Guacamole was ok, not much seasoning. For an entree, I tried the hilachas, which is a type of stewed beef in sauce. The sauce was tasty, but the beef was a little tough and stringy. I'd try something different next time, the menu is very extensive and I hesitate to review based on one visit. The dining room is modest but comfortable with bright decor and a mom & pop restaurant atmosphere. I'll definitely return for more specialty dishes. read more

Terrible customer service. I made a phone order, they said 15 minutes, I got there in 20 minutes and told her the name on the order And she was going to give me the wrong order and got rude when I was telling her that's not what I ordered. Then she asked for the name again and she was looking at the tickets and said "oh I was going to give you the wrong one." She started packing mine really slow and I said I needed to go put more money in the meter because the order wasn't ready by the time they said And she said "yeah go ahead" nicely, but as I walked away she loudly said "this isn't McDonald's fast food." I'm not rude so I went to put money and came back and got my food and didn't tip but I didn't say anything to her. There food is good but I won't go somewhere if they're rude. read more

A friend and I tried this place for the first time today, and it was delicious! Lots of choices to choose from on a easy to read menu (translations for each item) and it's sectioned with little flags for regions such as Guatemalan, El Salvadoran and Mexican. Staff was attentive and extremely friendly and welcoming the moment we walked in. I pulled up Yelp in the restaurant to find what plate was shown in the pic, and the waitress had a hard time recognizing what was depicted. But the manager noticed and rushed over to help and was able to inform me of EVERYTHING in the pic!! It was the plate for 2 and that's what we ordered. GREAT CHOICE! Steak had large portions and was tasty and full of flavor, Guacamole was yummy, and the pork chops were delicious!! Veggies were grilled to perfection as well. We will definitely go back soon! Next on my plate will be the beef stew because it sounded great and looked great when the table next to me ordered it! This place is a disgrace. I was there at an event and the owner Claudia was very rude to our whole table. This has not been the first time she has done this. The food was terrible. She does not know how to treat customers. If you do not like a lot of people in your establishment then you should not be in this business. With that attitude you are losing a lot of customers. I stopped into this little restaurant for lunch while my car was being worked on down the street. They have a really interesting menu of central american food. I had the papusas lunch special. I'd never had a papusa before, but these were delicious! The service was very kind and friendly and the prices were so reasonable I almost felt bad paying so little for such a large plate of food. We hosted a party for 20 at Las Delicias for a group that traveled to Guatemala together to spend a week at Nuestros Pequenos Hermanos Orphanage and some additional days sightseeing. We were looking for "authentic Guatemalan food", and everyone commented about how the food was even better at Las Delicias than what we experienced in Guatemala! We started with pupusas, which I can describe as a stuffed homemade thicker tortilla, served with a sort of cole slaw and a jalapeno sauce. So delicious! We could have made a meal of these! We followed with pepian, which is a labor-intensive chicken stew-like dish with potatoes and green beans with a side of rice. The flavors were great! Dessert was like a stuffed doughnut, with the dough made with bananas and the filling made with chocolate, cinnamon, and get this, black beans! You have to try it to believe it. The service was friendly and accommodating, and there was even live entertainment - a crooner singing some favorites in Spanish. BYOB also makes it appealing. They will provide wine glasses and a bottle opener if you need it! We will be back! read more
