One bite was so gross. Opened and saw this burned potato filling

I was excited to try this place. We ordered a quesadilla. It comes with lettuce, cheese, Cueritos, and avocado slices. The dough was raw in the middle :( My son had a beef tostada. Same toppings as the quesadulla plus beans. That was really good. The actual tostada is crunchy and it doesn't get soggy before you're done. The tacos dorados de pala were NOT GOOD! The potato was burned and the shell tasted like it was left in old oil. We do not recommend it.

Omg so good. I was around the corner at the DMV for like 3 hours (I'm never moving out of Cali…read moreagain...) and waiting in the line for vehicle inspection when I said, let me get some food and wait instead... So glad I found Mar Y Tierra!!! Everyone was sooo nice to me even though I had a hard time remembering "sesenta" briefly (when I think in Spanish now, Japanese comes out... it's funny but it's a problem lol) and even though I'm a gringa with a basic order. I just got 1 shrimp & 1 fish taco both with avocado and a jamaica. When I tell you I ate these like I had never eaten food before... Shrimp was incredibly tender and wonderful. The fish was huge, flaky and crispy and juicy. Honestly I ate them so quickly they could've been made of liquid. But they were sooo delicious!! They included extra sauce and the green salsa wasn't too spicy for me which I so appreciate! They also included 2 limes for one of the tacos which made me think someone really loves me today :') I would definitely come back here anytime and try more things on the menu! Very very delicious!! Thank you for the delicious food and taking care of me today!!!

So fresh, the cabbage was excellent and it's a loaded taco. They did not disappoint! The shrimp taco especial was just as outstanding! I got it grilled and it did it was on point. Just a heads up before you go, there is no seating. It's a standing-room-only setup with barrel tables throughout the outdoor space. You order from one of the trucks, find a place to stand, and enjoy your food. The atmosphere felt lively and authentic, making it part of the experience. Service: Service was quick and efficient despite the crowd. There was even someone helping direct parking, which made arriving and finding a spot much easier. Food: The complimentary consommé completely stole the show for me. It was rich, flavorful, and packed with chunks of seafood. Every bite had a deep, savory flavor with just the right amount of spice. It was honestly my favorite thing we tried. We ordered the Gobernador, the Negrita, and fish tacos. The Gobernador was loaded with shrimp and melted cheese, creating the perfect combination of rich, savory seafood flavor. The shrimp tasted incredibly fresh and was cooked perfectly. The Negrita was another standout, piled high with shrimp, sliced avocado, and topped with an oyster that added even more fresh ocean flavor. It was served with tostadas on the side, and every bite was packed with bold seasoning, fresh seafood, and great texture. The fish taco was good and made with fresh ingredients. My bf and I are big foodies and have eaten a lot of fish tacos over the years, so we're probably tougher critics than most. While it wasn't our favorite item of the meal, it was still enjoyable, and the Gobernador and Negrita were the clear standouts for us. While the prices are a little higher, the quality, freshness, and portion sizes help justify it. Overall, this was a great experience from start to finish. Between the flavorful seafood, and generous portions, it's definitely worth coming back again.

We were initially aiming for the crispy shawarma however only Mira Mesa and La Mesa does it. So I guess that's next on our list! The wraps were unexpectedly big! This is probably the biggest wrap I ever had! Generous with meat and veggies. Their wagyu egg rolls are definitely must have! Falafel fries is really good too! All of these perfectly paired with their garlic sauces. My favorite is spicy lemon garlic! The staff are very knowledgeable about their menu. Not really an ambience since there's not much as far as a dining room. There are a couple of cocktail tables where you could eat. After ordering online at 20:20pm, my estimated pick up time was 8:39pm and got the order at 9:03pm. The cashier informed me their chicken is taking a while and added extra time to the wait. It probably would've been faster if they weren't so backed up. I ordered the Wagyu beef and chicken shawarma plate for me and my wife to share. I added 3 falafels and pita bread on top of it. The food was still fresh when I got home 15 mins later. Everything was good and just enough for us two. Also, I'm not sure why there's a range of where they may be located on Yelp since this is just a food truck that seems to be permanent at this location.

I ordered the chicken plate via Postmates. The picture on the app shows chicken drizzled in teriyaki sauce, it also states the plate comes with vegetables. I was very disappointed when my ordered arrived. The chicken had no teriyaki, which it desperately needed. The chicken, the rice, and the "vegetables" (it was just some squash and raw onions) had no flavor at all. If you scroll down you'll see other reviews with the same complaints. Evidently, customer service and quality are NOT their top priorities. I was not able to finish this, I tried to give it to my dog but he turned it down too. The packaging was also not secure. The staff was very gracious in the face of the huge crowd and a mountain of orders. The location is spacious with plenty of room to line up and tables to sit and eat or wait on orders. The parking was easy too which was a bonus. For food we got two orders of the big greedy with yams, greens, baked beans and the new mushroom rice. I will stress that everything was excellent and we would get this exact order again, but a few particular standouts were 1) Fried Catfish. Our favorite protein by far. It was deliciously seasoned, perfectly fried, and succulently tender, 2) Candied Yams. They were sweet, tender and nicely balanced, 3) Mushroom Parmesan Rice. We only tried this because so many of the other sides were sold out and man are we glad we did. Our family tore this side up! The mushroom parm gravy was smooth and creamy with large chunks of mushroom. Definitely a great addition to the sides list. Our family can't wait to go back and try more of what CBB has to offer. I'm really glad we did because the food was so good that we actually came back two days in a row -- which should tell you a lot about how delicious it was. We tried a few different items, including several types of tostadas and their shrimp cocktail. Every single item we ordered was full of flavor and tasted fresh. If there's one thing I highly recommend, it's the Chula Vista Tostada -- that was easily one of my favorites. The service was good and the wait for the food wasn't long at all. We went once on Saturday and again on Sunday. The lines were pretty small when we arrived, but it definitely picked up afterward. After enjoying a cold beer, I asked them to make me the Mushroom and Sausage pizza baked in a red and black wood fire oven. The pizza cost $12. The pizza was quite excellent at many levels. First of all, I was very pleased with the sauce made from organic San Marzano Tomatoes. It was light but provided a great natural mild tomato flavor. I had a great balance between sweet and acidity, both being very subtle. The pizza's sausage is made by the proprietor, Mario M., and let me tell you, he makes some grand sausage. The sausage was lighter than most and not overwhelmed by herbs and seasoning. It did have a small amount of fennel seeds, but no so much that it allowed the natural pork flavor to come through nicely. The mushrooms that came with this pizza were rendered down well from baking and were tender with a good earthy flavor. The Mozzarella was fresh and the pizza came with just the right amount. I was very impressed with the pizza's crust. It was of the thinner variety but held up very well to the pizza's ingredients. Even though it was thin and had a good light crunch, it also had very good texture and where there was some sort of thickness, it had a bit of a chew.
