I went for breakfast burritos about four times in a month. I had the handheld to-go burritos for 5.99 as well as the smothered ones in-house. Thought they were of the best breakfast burritos I've found in Lakewood or the Denver area. I shared this find with friends and family. One day, it was not as good. Las Fuentes has been a wonderful part of my neighborhood for many years. It is the place to go for lunch/dinner or a margarita after a long day. The waiter always makes me feel welcome, & the meal is always good. Is it a grand restaurant? This little gem is so close to home, I could walk but, I'm lazy so, I drive. I've been here a few times and have always had a great experience. The salsa and chips are consistently fresh and keep me wanting more. Thin and nicely salty chips are my favorite. Today I had the special which was a potato, bean, and green chile burrito with two eggs. Nicely seasoned and plated dish that I devoured with the delicious green chile. The breakfast menu is fairly extensive and has something for everyone. For lunch and dinner the menu grows and you have beer, wine, marg, and tequila options available. I have yet to try desserts here but, they have the usuals on hand - churros, fried ice cream, flan, and sopapillas. Beware of the date of older bad reviews as owners and employees come and go in any restaurant.. We eat there a couple times a month, usually take out, but Sunday we sat in. Place is going downhill. Ordered a tamale dinner. Paid $14 for it, got home and it's one tamale. Poor tamale was just chillin by itself the whole car ride home. When I called the store, they said they only charged me for one tamale. I would have to come back and pay for another tamale. But they would give me the rice and beans for free. We live nearby and go here a couple of times a month. Depending on what time of day you go, you may have a different experience... In the evening we've always had a pleasant experience with friendly staff and delicious food. In the morning, that's rarely the case. The manager that works in the mornings seems to constantly be frustrated about something and openly angry sometimes. Despite the convenience of the location for us, I find myself constantly asking why I keep going there in the morning and putting up with him. I don't think there's a better breakfast burrito in our vicinity, but the negative attitude of this employee inspires me to keep looking. read more

Cute family owned business. Their green chile is the best!!! WAY BETTER than santiagos and the quality is the better. The servers are always friendly and they always keep our glass full and salsa and chips refilled. Did I mention their salsa is delicious and fresh?! I recommend everything with green chile. We hadn't been to Las Fuentes for several years when we visited a couple of weeks ago. In fact, the last time we visited, they had fairly recently moved to this location and hadn't been able to negotiate a liquor license because of their proximity to Green Mountain High School. I don't know when, but they did successfully negotiate that at some point. They weren't busy the night we visited, which was good because the parking lot has an odd configuration and not a lot of capacity. There is street parking if the lot is full. When you walk in, it feels familiar - like you've been there before, even if you haven't. Simple but comfortable, friendly service with wait staff supporting each other such that diners are well attended to. It feels like lots of other family-operated, neighborhood Tex-Mex restaurants you've been to. So too the menu - large, and again, familiar - the expected array of tacos, burritos, enchiladas, combinations and specialty items. Everything we had was good, portions were ample and prices consistent with their competitive. Does Las Fuentes distinguish itself in memorable ways? Not really. But it feels welcoming, friendly and comfortable, the staff are pleasant, and the food and value are good. That kind of familiarity definitely works for me. read more

I came here a few days after the renovation from Burgers Plus was complete, and was unimpressed. The salsa that came with the chips was watery and bland. The beans and rice with my lunch special were thrown on to the plate on top of one another, and my burrito was lukewarm and crunchy, as if it had been sitting under a heat lamp, which I'm sure it had - from the time I ordered it was maybe 90 seconds until my food was in front of me. Since other reviews indicate that the food is good now, I may give it another try. But with the excellent El Jimador just down the street, I may not. read more

Ordered 5 bacon breakfast burritos for pick up about a month ago, one with no eggs. Total cost was $25 and I left a tip. Got to my friend's house and not ONE breakfast burrito had bacon on it. Four were just eggs, hashbrowns, cheese, and green chili, and one was just hashbrowns, cheese, and green chili. Messaged the company on their website but still haven't heard back. I think the burritos would have been pretty good if they had the bacon on them, but paying $25 + a tip for five breakfast burritos without bacon is pretty steep. read more

We ate here for the first time on May 5, Cinco de Mayo. Their liquor license is active now. It was crowded as expected and they had some wonderful specials. The waitress was friendly and a bit overworked but we were in no rush. The chips were tasty, not greasy, and the salsa was delicious. We had the chili rellenos without the cheese on top...unfortunately, the chiles were stuffed with cheese. It was the only thing close to being dairy and meat free on the menu. Although it tasted good, I am lactose intolerant and had a stomach ache later. I also had the churros which were nicely crunchy on the outside but undercooked in the middle. This restaurant would get a lot more business if they had some healthy dairy and meat free items on the menu. Yikes. Had a terrible experience here. 1. When we arrived,the restaurant was extremely busy and it took forever for them to even ask us what we wanted to drink, and they failed to bring us our chips and salsa during the ten minutes. We had to wave the servers down to get service, which was clearly due to the fact that the servers were understaffed and overworked 2. We finally got our drinks, and I was super disappointed when I tried the house margarita which was nothing more than cheap mixer, mixed with terrible tequila. That being said, I tried my boyfriends michelada and it really was incredibly delicious. 3. Now as to the food, my Chile rellenos came out burnt. While advertised as crispy, let's be honest: crispy does not mean coming out a dark brown due to the fact that they fried the crap out of them. They were almost inedible. Unfortunately due to all of these factors I will certainly not be returning to this establishment which is a bummer considering how close to my house and how much my family once enjoyed this place. I came here after a recommendation from a neighbor and I was really disappointed. The food was bland and the ingredients didn't taste fresh. I had a burrito and the tortilla tasted/felt stale. My wife was unimpressed as well and, honestly, she's easy to please. Nothing was innovative, it was just run of the mill mexican food executed poorly. The service was very slow. To top it off the decor/atmosphere was awful. The inside wasn't changed enough from burgers plus which wasn't changed enough from whatever was there before Burgers Plus. The outside of the building is painted offensive vile colors that made me almost turn away before I got to the door, probably because my wife pointed out that they chose baby poo brown and another color closely resembling excrement. To make matters worse the restaurant has a horrid obnoxious led blinking sign that screams lowbrow. If you are looking for value go to Burrito Express If you are looking for great Mexican food try Tequilas Family Mexican Restaurant, where, by the way, you can get a great margarita (unllike Las Fuentes, which can't serve alcohol). One of our favorite places to eat! Great customer service. Food is very good! We had a Birthday celebration and had 20 people in our party, they were so accommodating and service was excellent!
