Jaime's is definitely one of the Mexican restaurants I trust. Service is solid but what I trust the most is the food quality. I'll admit, I have had not so great meal once before and yet it wasn't horrible in any way. The Grilled Chicken Breast (Pollo Asada) dish I had the past Friday was indeed nowhere near disappointing. Although the meat wasn't super tender, the overall flavor and seasoning on everything was simply just right. The portion (not to mention) was generous as well (they included 4 pieces of corn tortillas for me!!) The ambiance is that of the family-owned old-time diner feel; some may say it's a bit outdated and yet I can easily call that "old-fashioned" in a good way. I have never found it dirty or messy ever. It's a bit out of the way for me (from my DTC house) and yet I choose Jaime's if/when I see fit. My good friend who lives only a few minutes from it cherishes this place. I love this place! My mom and dad introduced me to this place years ago and it is still a favorite! Their food is very good and the people that work there are so polite and friendly! It is decorated well and always so clean, very impressed! My dad, who isn't much of a drinker, always orders a frozen concoction because "they know how to make them right"! Jaime's has been a favorite neighborhood restaurant for many years, and our family has been loyal customers. We understand that prices have gone up everywhere, and most people expect that. What's disappointing isn't the higher prices, it's the decline in customer service, smaller portions, and the feeling that longtime customers are no longer valued. My elderly mother recently dined there with seven friends. They requested separate checks and were charged $1.50 per check, along with a large-party fee. While those fees are posted on the menu, no one in the group noticed them beforehand, making it an unpleasant surprise. Even more disappointing, a fly landed on one woman's burrito . She politely asked for a fresh replacement, but after waiting a long time, the waitress insisted she had asked for it "to go" and argued with her instead of simply making it right. Everyone at the table heard her request a replacement for the table. On top of that, menu prices have increased at least twice in the past year, while portions have continued to shrink. Friends who used to eat here once or twice a week have stopped going because nearly $20 for four tacos without beans or rice simply doesn't feel like a good value anymore. Loyal customers helped make Jaime's the neighborhood favorite it became. I hope management remembers that, because great customer service and appreciation for longtime patrons are what keep people coming back. read more

No matter how good the food tastes the upcharges will turn your stomach and turn you off. I ordered tacos and was given a small lime for four tacos I asked for another lime and was charged...$1.50! For limes! I know costs are up but to nickel and dime something you can pick up at the store for next to nothing. And if you are going to charge $4.50 for a pop there should be refills offered and one should. It have to ask someone to refill the glass So there are plenty of other places and we will be going to them. Sorry Jamie good food doesn't cover up the extremely bad taste this left. Food is good, but the service was terrible. The gal when we ordered a to go order was snappy and had a bad attitude. When we got the order it was wrong and asked to get it fixed. The gal huffed and fought us on what we ordered. We asked to speak to a manager and even the manager had a bad attitude. The managers excuse was "you know the younger generation doesn't do customer service". That tells me you don't know how to manage you people. We ordered food to pick up this morning and my tostada didn't have salsa and my posole didn't have the bread I requested. I called back and the young gal was rude and told us she has to look at the cameras and would call me back (no call back as of yet). I requested to speak to Jaime and she said no and hung up. To begin, I called ahead to place a reservation, but they do not take reservations. Once I arrived they put my name on the list and I had to wait in the entry vestibule for a while until a seat was available for my party. 3 stars. Staff: The waiters and hosts were all very polite. And made sure my drinks were full. The customer service is worthy of 5 stars. Ambience: This location is good for family meals, dates, or meals with friends. I would not suggest this location for formal events. 4 stars. Bathrooms: The men's was clean and had no trash on floors. The women's had trash on floors that needed cleaned. Between the two, worthy of 3 stars. Food: I love Mexican food and everything here tasted very authentic. Endless chips and salsa. 5 stars. Conclusion: This restaurant is great if you want authentic tasting Mexican food. The staff was nice. My girlfriend and I had a romantic dinner tonight and this restaurant was a great choice. Our server was excellent. He was friendly, prompt and efficient. The food was fantastic and the fried ice cream was perfect. We really enjoyed the atmosphere and the decor. There was plenty of parking and the parking was well lit. Being on a date as a same sex couple can often draw negative attention but this place didn't even notice. Which is the way we like it. Our bill was absolutely reasonable and our sever earned every dime of the 20 dollar tip. This place is only a mile from my house and I'm surprised I've never been there before. Really love this local spot. With so many great Mexican food joints in the area, it's a tough choice when it comes to Taco Tuesday or a Friday date night. But Jaime's always delivers great food and friendly service, so we keep coming back more and more. Most recently, we came in Cinco de Mayo. It was a popular spot that night and there was a long line to check in an an estimated 20 minute wait (which I don't think is too bad!). But we found spots at the bar and started chatting with some other local folks that said they come to Jaimes at least once a week! We ordered some margaritas and started with chips and salsa. Nothing beats a good chips/salsa/marg combo to kick off your meal. My fiancé ordered the birria tacos and really loved them! My go-to is usually the fish taco plate or the potato tacos. This night I ordered the fish and they were as good as ever. But as I write this, I'm fed thinking bout dem potato tacos. Yum. They come in a nice, crispy corn tortilla shell and I usually top them with the salsas that Jaimes provides. We've preferred for pickup several times and the food is always equally as good as when we've ordered sit down. That's a huge plus for us! Especially on days when you just want to eat in the comfort of your own home but want the convenience of someone else cooking for you. If you're a local, I would give Jaime's a chance to be your go-to Mexican food restaurant! They have a vast menu of food and beers/cocktails. You'll know that this is an authentic Mexican place when the staff speak Spanish and have futbol (soccer) on the TVs in Spanish. I came in for lunch and chose their Super Burrito with medium spice. For medium spice, it was quite spicy! Now I can't picture good Mexican food served bland. I have to get some degree of spicy with it. The chips and salsa were an excellent starter. Jaime's is a little neighborhood gem. I like coming here for breakfast. I get tasty eggs and potatoes and most meals come with a side of delicious green chile. I like that there's an option to pick mild or medium heat on the chile. The medium chile packs a little heat but not so much that it's not enjoyable. I mix it with potatoes to give them a little extra flavor but the potatoes are full of flavor on their own. I ordered a smothered burrito which was full of eggs and potatoes and smothered in green chile. We also ordered the Jaime's special which comes with 2 eggs, toast, potatoes, ham, bacon, sausage and a side of green chile. This meal pretty much covers everything, tastes good and satisfies your hunger. They have a very large menu and also serve up tasty cocktails. read more

Met by Friendly service, the restaurant feels outdated, chips served were cold unlike most other restaurants, the waitress said they don't have the chip warmer equipment, the salsa is more like tomato sauce. I ordered the suggested popular #4, in appearance it looked very good, unfortunately the plate served was bordering cold, room temperature at best, nothing worse than cold beans, all food blended flavorless to the point you could not tell the difference between items. Nothing here is fresh nor made in house. I would not recommend nor would I consider giving a 2nd chance even if a different plate, it's that bad. read more

Giving 2 stars because I know their food is great. Otherwise would be a big fat ZERO. Came Friday dinner rush. Was waiting to put my name on the list as they were on a wait. Someone cut in front of us, and put their name on the list before us. Whatever. But after waiting 25 minutes I asked where we were on the list. Hostess said next in line. 2 parties were seated before us though, so after 30 minute wait, we left. Went to Fiddlesticks. Got served right away. Big mistake coming on a Friday night.
