We came here on a Saturday evening which probably isn't the best choice because man were they busy! Tons of people waiting in the lobby and outside. They said it would be about 20 minutes which isn't bad at all considering the amount of people that were there so we were fine waiting and made our way to the bar, which we were lucky to find one spot at the end for Ben's Mom to sit down at and we stood behind her. The bar service was fast and offered up their 2 for 1 beer to Ben and 2 for $7 wine for his Mom. I will say that if you are waiting for a table, being in the bar when it is busy is probably not the greatest idea because they just call out numbers and though we were on the end closest to the lobby, I didn't hear one number being called out so after so long we had Ben go stand in the lobby until we were called. In total I think we waited 30 minutes. Once we got to our table we got some chips and salsa and then our server found his way over to us and asked about our drink order. The service was slow with him and I am not just saying that because they were busy but him himself just worked as if there wasn't any rush with anything our entire time being there. Not sure if that was just his way of not wanting to turn over his tables more to not have to deal with more people or not but I watched other servers flying around the place and tables that came after ours get up and leave way before we did. The menu is huge! They do have everything in one so for lunch items you'll just have to pass over that part. I ordered the Burrito Deluxe, Ben the Steak Fajitas, and Ben's Mom did the create your own combo (3 items) with two crunchy tacos and refried beans. The food came out pretty quickly after the order was placed (food runner) and Ben's fajitas were sizzling hot. Ben's Mom dove into her tacos right away so I couldn't get a picture of those but they came out nicely in a taco stand so that the ingredients didn't fall out. My burrito came with rice and refried beans and was topped with sauce, cheese, sour cream and lettuce. My first bite took me back to my favorite Mexican restaurant back home in Michigan so I was instantly a happy camper. The the price point of Ben's fajitas ($15) he got a lot of food. His steak had good flavor and there was enough for 5 made fajitas, 3 of which he ate there and took the stuff home to make 2. This is the worst restaurant I've ever encountered in my life. I ordered the super Fajitas meal , mind you it was 8:45 when we walked in, but we ordered two of those which are 25.00 a meal. One came out sizzling like it was supposed to, for my friend and one had no sizzle which was for me. We also ordered fish tacos, that were Luke warm. Also the food was very over seasoned. Also when i bit into one of the fish tacos, it felt like I bit into shattered glass on one end of them. It definitely made me spit the food out into a napkin because I felt it was something wrong. Never did they bring out chips and salsa to the table until asked once the food was pretty much done because everything else was unsatisfactory. We didn't receive silverware to start even after we ordered appetizers, which were the chicken nachos, also very dry! After the waitress served the food, she went and sat down and ate her meal at the end of the night, like she was in a lunch break to only get up to check on us after she thought or felt we were done. I promise, I can't make this up! so if that's how an establishment values their customers, I would rather never go out for dinner again. I Do Not Recommend this restaurant to my worst enemy. I left there as well as my friend with a bad taste in my mouth about eating there. And too be honest I can't get over the idea of eating the fish taco that felt like I chews on shards of glass. I honestly and still cringing inside thinking about it. I never once asked for a refund, or complained about the service, because I don't like confrontation. So this isn't about a refund at all. I prefer when I go out in my spend my money that I work hard for that the quality is there and hospitality goes hand and hand. I ordered the chicken enchiladas, and the menu said nothing in the way of toppings. It came with cheese sauce and mole sauce. Because a have a deadly anaphylactic peanut allergy, I asked what was in the mole sauce, and was told it contains peanuts. This needs to be listed on the menu. If I had eaten it without asking, I could have lost my life. Listing it on the menu could save someone's life. When I asked for a new one without the sauce, it wasn't very seasoned and quite dry. read more

We are back for another visit. So far, the service is, unfortunately, more like the first visit. Slow. Given, it's a Friday night, but it's a little slow. However. The food was very good. The twins polished off their quesadillas and taco salad and my wife made a valiant effort to eat the burrito deluxe. I had an enchilada with ranchero sauce that was tasty. ******** I think we're changing the name of this place to "Las Senoritas" instead of Las Margaritas - mainly because we always come here with three females and there are three huge paintings of women right inside the door (see photos). We had a 20-25 minute wait on a Friday night (it was less if we sat outside), which wasn't too bad, I guess. We ended up sitting under a huge horse painting which was perfect for the local "horse Capitol of the world" designation. The girls did a great job confusing our waitperson, changing from a kids menu item to an adult (only way to get chicken with your quesadilla is to order from the adult menu) and a single soft taco went to a taco with rice and beans to a taco salad. While we waited, we did what most people do - we people watched. There is apparently a severe mirror shortage in Ocala, Florida. All I'm gonna write on that topic. Our food was pretty much what we have come to expect: flavorful and almost exactly how we wanted it. The quesadilla was supposed to be without tomatoes and onions - they got the tomatoes part right but apparently they filled that space with EXTRA onions instead. The taco salad looked more like the size of a side salad. The chimichanga was good and a fajitas were good. A little disappointing, but we made for it by getting ice cream after we left the restaurant. **************** A return visit on Saturday afternoon (3:30ish) and while the food is ultimately good, the service continues to be a challenge. We finished two baskets of chips before we ever had napkins and silverware - and even then it was only because I asked for it. My grande burrito was good, however my wife had the fajitas and we had to wait for the tortillas and ask for them twice before the poor woman could even eat! ********************** It's really sad that the service continues to be such a challenge, because the food is really good. Another early Saturday (5ish) dinner with the family. Our waiter was so completely inattentive, we were not even sure he was our waiter. He sort of took our drink order and when we asked for some queso, he brought out a mostly melted bowl of queso that I had to stir until the rest of it melted. But, did I mention the food is great? I selected this place because they have a good amount of outdoor seating and I had my dog with us so we figured we could sit outside with the dog however for some reason this is the only place on the planet who won't let you have your dog at the outside seating. They might want to rethink that. Minus one star for that pet unfriendliness. We were seated outside and they came I immediately to dump chips and salsa which was nice and they kept it for as much as we wanted, the service was good the food was quite good but none of the busboy spoke any English which is moderately annoying. This place was located at a mall where we stopped in to charge. Wasn't super hungry but we had a bit of a road trip ahead. I ordered the fish tacos and they were very tasty. They provide chips and salsa for the table. I thought the salsa could use some more lime juice, cilantro, salt and jalapeños. We sat outdoors and it was nice until someone started smoking. Thankfully the server told them that it wasn't allowed. The one star came off because they allowed a dog on the premises. I don't want to eat near anyone's smelly animal. So the soda was huge. However the fajitas tasted a bit bland, I was expecting authentic Mexican spices and flavors but was let down. However we did come at a very busy time, so maybe it was just the rush in the kitchen that was the reason for the under-seasoning. After reading other's reviews I went here for lunch at about 11:00 am on a Saturday. I was seated immediately and a waiter came quickly to take my drink order, then my food order when he brough the drink and chips and salsa. The chips were fresh and the salsa was very tasty with lots of cilantro and fresh tomato solids. It was not spicy hot. I ordered Enchiladas Rancheros off the lunch menu, consisting of three cheese enchiladas with Ranchero sauce and a layer of pulled carnitas on top, as well as some lettuce on the side with a scoop of guacamole. The Enchiladas had plenty of filling, the ranchero sauce was quite good, and the carnitas were moist and tender. My family and I (of 7) came on a Friday night and it was packed but we were sat pretty quickly. I didn't have a lot of expectations because of the 3 stars on yelp but was surprised. The chips they served right after we sat was still warm and their salsa was very good. It had a nice kick in the end and you could taste all the ingredients because they seemed fresh. The food, despite being very Americanized, tasted good and thankfully was not overly salty. I ordered the chicken taco salad and the hubby ordered the burrito. I showed her my phone because I had not hung up yet and I wanted them to see the amount of time I had been holding. This may be our first and last visit. I would not even give them one star if I did not have to. We just moved to the area and Mexican food is my favorite. They lost a potencial repetitive customer. Very good Mexican food. My family recently moved to Florida from Southern California and have been greatly disappointed in the Mexican restaurants we have so far found. Las Margaritas was a very pleasant surprise. We stopped by for weekend lunch. My wife ha the Chicken Fajitas, my daughter the Steak Quesadilla and I had the Enchiladas Suizas. All of our meals were well prepared and delivered much quicker than we expected. The meats were well flavored and cooked, marinating meat seems to be unusual for local Mexican restaurants. Great sauces and nice presentation. Looking forward to returning and sad that their only other location is Gainesville. read more

We've dined here a handful of times and it has always been a very good experience. Right off the bat i have to say the dessert, the flan was the best ive ever had! So rich and caramel creamy it was heavenly delicious. I would drive across town battling traffic and ocala crazy drivers just for the flan... it's that good! The food was sooooo delicious i even ate threw refried beans and rice... and beans don't usually agree with me but i was on a culinary roll. My wife loved the beef tacos and shared some plantains with me, but i was already quite full at this point. Then i remembered the flan! I thought i could squeeze a couple bites in and take the rest home. The flan was quite large compared to servings from other places so i was thinking dessert now and later. Didn't turn out that way. I ended up eating the whole flan right there and was busting at the seems. But my smile was a permanent fixture the whole ride home. I ate so much for lunch it carried me through dinner. I think im going back for flan to bring home. Gosh it was that darn good. All in all this place is great. A Mexican utopia right in the middle of ocala. And there's plenty of shopping stores right around it if you want to walk off your meal. Highly highly recommend. I was fine sending it back and waiting. I was more taken aback by the waiters attitude. HE ordered the wrong meal and was quite obvious with his attitude that I was somehow the problem. This is my first two star review ever. We came to Las Margaritas on a Tuesday night. They have indoor and outdoor seating. We chose to sit inside as it was a hot day. The waitress came quickly and asked for our drink orders. We had some questions about their margaritas which she answered but she did not offer their happy hour special or explain it. We decided upon a pitcher of the house margaritas, $28, for the four of us. You will see by the picture that it is intended to be a beer service pitcher with the metal freezer core. The appearance is deceiving because the pitcher looks large but the core displaces much of the beverage. Then to our dismay the pitcher was also filled to the top with ice! We barely were able to get four small glasses of margaritas from it, and when it was time to pour a fifth glass, it was so watered down you could barely taste any margarita. When our server returned, we explained how we had never seen margaritas served this way and what a deception it was. She offered no resolution or explanation but smiled and nodded. We then asked her about the happy hour special. She told us then Margaritas were two for $9 so we ordered four at a cost of $18. The individual margaritas were not only a much better value, but we're not iced down. Our meals were average in taste but did come out in a timely manner. The portions were not overly generous, average at best. We are accustomed to receiving beans and rice with any full-size dinner at restaurants we frequent, but this was not the case. My husband's four enchilada dinner did not include any extras. He ordered refried beans on the side at a cost of $3.50. The best of the four dinners was the carnitas. The pork serving was generous and had an authentic flavor. The menu specifies only two slices of avocado with this meal and you will see by the picture that is true. The restaurant itself is decorated nicely with colorful furniture and decor. It's somewhat loud because of the tile floor. read more
