Located in a upscale strip mall the store front isn't much to see. Stepping inside, colorful tables and chairs like many other Mexican restaurants. However, the are tiled "roofs" which lend the inside to remind you of Al fresco dining. We had the chorizo and cheese dip, it was served on a cast iron skillet which keep the cheese dip-able the entire meal. Chips were fresh and hot, just needed a bit more salt. The enchilada-chicken- with red sauce was very good. The red sauce was so dark it appeared as a mole' sauce. The chili rellano was also good- perfectly dipped and fried. Fajita quesadilla was filled with cheese. Would have like to see some peppers in with the onions but overall it was tasty. What was exceptional was the homemade spicy salas which is an additional charge but so worth it! Beware- it is called spicy and rightfully so! Overall the meal was delightful and the food was good. Went there Wednesday evening . My enchiladas were really bad ! I was offered a take home box , I laughed at the waitress . Why would I want to take them home ???? To make the dinner worse , there was a young lady there , sitting at a table by herself . There were as many as " SIX " staff standing around talking to her at one time . I have to believe that every staff worker working last night , stopped by her table to shot the " Bull " with her . I have been coming to Las Margaritas ever since it opened and it's always one of my "go-tos" when I'm in town because the food is so reliable, but I'm giving three stars because the sub-par service is also reliable. Las Margs has never served me food I haven't enjoyed. Everything is always correct, cooked to perfection, and tastes the exact same every time. I've never turned anything away, and it is also very fairly priced! With that being said though, the service is always lacking. The people up front seem bothered every time we come in and most (because some have been amazing) servers carry that theme through. I usually have to ask for refills after the server has come by our table multiple times and once your food is delivered we only see our server when we flag them down for our check. Like I said, the food is always great so I always come back, but don't expect stellar service while you're here! read more

So my wife and i wanted Mexican Food on date night and since I haven't eaten Mexican since moving to florida we went to Las Margaritas. The decor is beautiful, colorful and detailed. The theme is Mexico with that Spanish roof, music, Futbol on tv and smell. We were seated immediately and ordered our drinks first. The soda is a great size and every visit comes with fresh tortillas and salsa. The food was delicious and the only reason its 4stars and not 5 is because i agree with other reviews, the service could be better. It took them 15 min to get my check. I was about to yell out "Would someone take my money!" Anyway we are definitely coming back and want to try out there lunch special. read more

I like that this place is in a very popular shopping center across from my favorite store home goods -- the chips and salsa are delicious and the place is brightly decorated and cheerful -- i went there with a ladies group most everyone seemed to enjoy their lunch i got the tamales and was very disappointed and would never get again -- i have eaten here before so i have had better meals and choices in the past -- i would eat here again although there are other Mexican restaurants in my area in Citrus Co where i don't have to drive as far to dine at -- if i am in the area shopping would stop in again but not my top favorite place its definitely a been there done that rating read more

OMG! This place almost literally killed me TWICE! Be careful if you are allergic to nuts bc they put them in sauces Willey nilly with out telling you! And once you are suffering and in the midst of your allergic reaction, the owner and the staff act like nothing is wrong. I have been to the Gainesville location many many times, but this was my first time at the Ocala location. There is no outdoor seating like the Gainesville location, but it still works. The decor is the same, and the food quality is effectively the same as well. I chose the four item choose-your-own from the menu, ordering a burrito, enchilada, taco, and pork tamale. I really need to remember that some of these items come with a mole sauce, which I am not fond of in general. No big deal, scrape off the majority of it and it isn't that bad. Note, I am not saying that the mole is bad... I just don't like mole sauce in the first place. All of these were quite good, and very filling, particularly for under $10. Before these items arrive, you always get a bowl of chips and salsa. I have always loved the salsa that they have at Las Margaritas, but it seemed like the salsa they had in Ocala was a little more bland... not enough cilantro in it. This is probably to cater to the customer base, which is a much heavier retirement community who can't seem to deal with heavy spices. We're new to the area and we wanted to eat good for a late-night dinner. This is as late night as Ocala gets lol, but this restaurant exceeded our expectations! From the moment you walk in the colorful traditional Mexican art and architecture shines, on the tables, the seats, the walls. Very big and spacious restaurant. Carlos was our server and was extremely kind and helped recommend great choices. The food, KILLER! We ordered the chorizo con queso as an appetizer, and it filled us up pretty quickly. The Mexican cheese that they use in a lot of their dishes..... fire. Our entrees included the enchiladas Mexicanas and quesadilla fajitas. Pretty big portions, absolutely delicious. They were not shy with filling up the quesadilla with loads and loads of steak!! I was surprised that this place didn't show up under the "restaurants in Ocala" search results. It's a hidden gem and underrated in my opinion. For a family-owned business with only two locations, Ocala and Gainesville, they operate a beautiful establishment. The food was awesome. Excellent quality in taste and a large serving size for the amount paid. The restaurant is BEAUTIFULLY decorated. I want to thoroughly explain why three stars so there is no misrepresentation of the business's quality. My girlfriend and I chose Las Margaritas as our weekly date night location. The restaurant is relatively new to the Ocala area and we thought it was time to give it a try. When we arrived it was clear that the restaurant was packed with the nightly dinner crowd. We were immediately greeted and told it would be about 10+ minutes before we would be seated. The hostess told us we were welcome to have a seat at the bar until our number was called. There was a decent wait time at the bar. Several employees and bartenders walked past us, but none of them took our order nor did they acknowledge our presence. This was a little odd as the bar was not packed. We ordered a couple frozen house margaritas. They were very delicious and came in at only $6. We closed our bar tab and were led to our table. Before I start this part, let me say that the waiter was very new and in training, so I can understand why this happened. When we were originally seated, two waiters approached our table to take our drink order. I'm assuming one was training the other. The next time we saw a waiter, it was only the new guy, and that continued the rest of the night. After our drinks, things got a little rough. We had to ask a different waiter (because we hadn't seen ours for a while) for chips and salsa, which is something you're supposed to get when you sit down. When our actual waiter came back, he took our food orders. We both had to repeat ourselves three times, and when we received our food the order was still wrong. We didn't make a big deal out of it because we knew our guy was training and regardless the food was still incredible. Once bill time came, things got really complicated. We closed out our bar tab at the bar when we were called to our table, so it was surprising to see the drinks added to our bill for dinner as well. I mentioned this to the waiter and he just kind of sat there like he didn't know what to do. I even pulled out my receipt. Eventually the other waiter from the beginning came over and took our receipts back to fix things. However, it still wasn't over. When the waiter came back, he explained to us that instead of voiding the entire check he just refunded us the cost of the margaritas. No big deal, that sounds perfect. To make sure she understood, my girlfriend repeated the process back to him. A nearby manager overhead and came to our table and spoke to my girlfriend like she was 5 and couldn't understand basic math. Finally she said she got it and they left us alone. Going full circle, this place has major potential. The food was fantastic, and the restaurant itself is beautiful. It's in a perfect location with a Barne's and Noble and Starbucks basically next door. It's just new and they are still getting into the swing of things.
