We came in for breakfast since we was in the area. I decided to bypass looking at Yelp reviews and went in by how busy the parking lot was. Big mistake! The food was half decent for my plate. I ordered the migas and coffee. Do not order the coffee or tea. I ordered the coffee and it was like it had been sitting there all day. The tea was the same. My wife ordered the chillequilles. She was extremely disappointed. She wanted menudo, but that was sad as well, even being "freshly" made. She sampled and said it was edible only with a bunch of lemon juice, and decided to pass. Food was delicious, authentic Mexican food with belly filling portions. Extremely fresh and the tortillas were hand made. Service was great on a busy Sunday morning. Server was managing all tables well considering our table of 9 had multiple checks with everyone ordering so many different foods. Her service was excellent and all with a smile. The dining area is small but the staff handles it so well and everyone is working to make your experience the best possible. Their priority is the drive thru when there was no one else dinning in for breakfast. We needed up only getting one taco that was ready from our order which was potato and egg taco, which was not even good. I don't know why people complain about the prices here, the tacos are huge, you can tell they are homemade tortillas, they use the perfect cheese, and if you complain about a $5 a piece taco maybe you should cook at home more. Came here for breakfast while visit family. Initially ordered 4 tacos but the waiter warned they were big. I decided to start with two and go from there. I had the carne guisada with cheese taco from this place around 11am. That was the only thing I ate throughout the day and around 4pm I started feeling nauseous and had stomach pain. It's day three since I had the taco and I still have nausea, headache, stomach pain and cramps. I went to the doctor yesterday and it is FOOD POISONING. Another one of Seguin's taquerias in a former Sonic drive in. I can still see the drive up bays from the aforementioned. I entered and was greeted by an 8 yr old Latina girl who proudly mentioned that her aunt owned the place. Cute. Furthermore, they had these desserts on the counter--pizza-sized crackly pastries of some sort with cinnamon on them--and the little girl volunteered, "we used to have samples so you can taste them." Was here for a barbacoa taco only. unlike other places that sell their barbacoa tacos for about $1.99, here they are $2.99. But, instead of a taco on a 6 inch tortilla with about 3-4 ozs of meat--these could be described as super tacos because the tortillas are about 10 inches, and there is about 8 oz (half pound) of meat. So instead of 2 tacos for 4 dollars, you get a super taco that will fill you up for $2.99. The taste: this is the cleanest, non-gamey, and most flavorful barbacoa I have tasted to date. This is all meat with no fillers (fat, veins, corn flour). I almost didn't want to use the delicious green salsa they have here except to wet the edges of the tortilla, which by the way were soft, freshly griddled, and, tasteful. I like El Taco Tejano's barbacoa, and this place is set up just like it (old dairy queen, drivethough, order at the counter and sit down), but with these super tacos and that delicious barbacoa, I think I may have found my hangout for B A R B A C O A. read more

Seriously, if you're an incoming freshman at Texas Lutheran, and an upper classmen doesn't tell you to go to Las Palmas, question whether or not this person is your friend. If they tell you another breakfast taco is better, ridicule them relentlessly for having awful taste. Las Palmas is unsuspecting, in an old Dairy Queen on Court Street. Don't that fool you. Also, just go inside and order your tacos. The drive-thru is notoriously slow. Just order two. The only person I've ever seen eat three of these beasts weighed 260 and dropped bombs. You might weigh 260, but you probably don't drop bombs...just get two. They're $1.79 each, but they're HUGE. Let's start with the tortilla. These things are life changing. They make the whole taco. Eggs, perfectly fluffy, not runny and not overdone. Bacon, huge piece(s) of crispy bacon to provide a nice salty crunch amongst all the fluffiness. Cheese... This isn't 'real' cheese. I'm not sure how exactly it's constructed...probably in a taco physics lab somewhere, but it's melted deliciousness melds all the components together in perfect unison. Put a dollop of red sauce on every bite. It's pretty hot so I wouldn't recommend a full on slather, but a nice drop before each bite is just what the Dr. ordered. Look, I hype these things up to everyone... way past the point where they should be overrated and nobody is every disappointed. On Friday and Saturdays they're open 24 hours... Don't drink and drive, but by all means have a sober friend take you after you get a solid buzz. After midnight it is acceptable to alternate one bean and cheese taco for one of your two bacon, egg and cheese tacos. I can't recommend or discourage any of their other menu items because for the last 9+ years, I think I've only ever had those two tacos. Ordinarily, I venture out and try new things, but in this case... if it ain't broke (and it's not), I'm not fixing it - or changing it. Added bonus... the owner (who has rocked this joint for 16 years) *just* got it back full-time after her ex-husband was operating it for approximately 8 months. And she eats the WHOLE thing. Being away from Texas, I gotta say - I love stopping in here whenever I come back. On the weekend they're open 24 hours. So you can go to SA, Austin or San Marcos or wherever really, get hammered, come back to Seguin, and eat some good Mexican food to take the edge off the buzz and inevitable hangover. This place has really gone downhill. The prices keep increasing and the portions getting smaller. Customer service is a joke. Rude staff and instead of taking care of customers it's more important for them to play on their phones. The owner is never around, and is unwilling to discuss complaints. Doesn't return calls and doesn't take action on valid complaints and concerns. I guess she's too busy shopping, going on vacation and buying new trucks. At this rate her business will be hard pressed to continue any measure of success. Worst Mexican food that my wife and I have ever had...and we've had a lot of Tex-Mex and authentic. I'm not being overly dramatic. The cheese enchiladas were filled with what appeared to be Velveeta and were just a greasy, soggy mess. The crazy taco was just okay. The shell to the crispy beef taco was burnt and the meat was similar in texture to Taco Bell's. We won't make the mistake of wasting our money at this establishment again. We were asked our drink order before even sitting down with a baby, which no high chair was offered. I grabbed it myself. Ordered coffee....still waiting on creamer. requested chips and salsa (it was 10:30 am) waitress said they probably didn't have any. I've had my food messed up multiple times but I kept coming back because of how conveniently close this place was to me but the last 2 times I was given store bought tortillas because they ran out and I was never given any notice before I bought the food. The last time I went the tacos were not only wrong but they were fake tortillas again and when I went back and asked nicely for my money back the owner came from the Kitchen and brought the whole staff to the front to make a point that the tortillas were real when I was told by 2 staff members already that they were fake. In town for the Pecan Festival, a city ambassador told us Las Palmas has the best breakfast tacos in town. And so we went. They serve their breakfast tacos all day and there are several options. I chose one Las Palmas taco which had egg, cheese, potato, bacon, maybe more. It was divine. Someone definitely made that flour tortilla by hand recently as it was a dream. The taco was big, more like a small burrito; my husband ordered three because we are used to the miniature version in Dallas and he finished two at best. It is a simple place, lots of take out and drive through activity along with the dining room. People were nice and though our server doesn't speak English our Spanish is rudimentary, we had no trouble communicating. I almost got the pancakes because they looked awesome and the customer eating them looked really happy, but I look even happier now post taco. read more
