We brought a big party in for a bit of a reunion before a funeral. The staff and management were soooo accommodating. They were friendly and answered all of our questions. The food was amazing and quick. We sat and talked for a while and they were very attentive and understood that we needed some time. I had a Quesadilla Porky. It was a fried tortilla stuffed with this beautiful pork and cheese. The pork was fantastic and the fresh toppings made for an incredible meal. My dad got the chicken fingers and was served 4 huge chicken tenders lightly battered and perfectly cooked. They were crispy and flavorful. You know when your experience is ruined by one person either by bad service? Well, it was actually two people that blew it for me yesterday. While camping in the Rough River Lake area, we chose this spot partially based on the fact that they have an outside seating area on the patio (for my pup) but it was closed off on a Sunday at lunch time. Speaking of lunch time, the lunch specials on the menu are available Monday-Friday, but are an extra $1 on the weekends. That's odd, but not the first time I'm witnessed that. We arrived just after a large group. One of the ladies in the party, arrived and placed her order after us, and finished and left before we ever received our food. Service was weird, she asked my husband if I would like a refill, as if I wasn't sitting right in front of her. My husband asked for hot salsa, but there was a delay in getting it. Here's is where it gets hairy... I watched the other server serve my taco salad and my husband's ala carte tacos to the large group. There they sat for at least two minutes. I had a feeling it was our food. Call it a hunch, call it being nosey, call it whatever. By this time I was super concerned and then the plot thickened, he picked the plates up from their table, placed it in the kitchen window visible from my table, then he fumbles through the tickets, picks the same plates back up brings them to our table. Not. Cool. Don't think I didn't say something to him either. I simply asked if those were the same dishes that he picked up from their table, he asked "is yours steak?" Good try, but I watched it with my own two eyes. I got up, walked out and headed over a couple of doors down, to McDonald's. That's no joke. You just can't make this stuff up. read more

I didn't even have Yelp downloaded but I did just to leave this review. Stopped here with my friends expecting a good little Mexican Restaurant and got the opposite. I ordered Chicken and Cheese and received a plate of very cold "chicken" with pretty much no cheese. I had to order a separate bowl of cheese dip to put on my chicken and it only took what felt like 30 mins for a bowl of cheese dip to come out. Service was terrible, our server Alex never checked on us nor did any of the others. This place was not busy at all. Every time I needed something I had to get their attention because they did not check in once. Also I order a soda that was so flat I had to ask for a water. For my meal I ordered a plate of terrible chicken with barely any cheese on it, 1 cheese dip, and a water...... that cost me $25 before tip. Bathrooms were so sketchy too. This place is the definition of mid. Never coming back, terrible service, cold food, overpriced. read more

The chicken tasted like canned chicken. They barely put any cheese on their dinners. If you want cheese put on it cause they use maybe a tablespoon you have to pay extra. This place is probably the best restaurant in town. It has as close to authentic Mexican food as you can get in this area, super tasty! I got the crab chimichangas and they were so filling. The margaritas are also great. I would highly recommend. I honestly don't get the negative reviews; especially the ones about the service. read more

If you live in Leitchfield you're better off going to El Patron. The last time I came here a few of the plates came out cold and one of the people in my party's plate had a hair in it. The staff was nice about it though. read more

We had eaten here several months ago and were disappointed. So glad we gave it another try. We had a very good meal here last night. Their cheese dip was tasty, and the chips were fresh. These guys were overwhelmed by the crowd from the eclipse, so service was really slow at first. The servers were kind but we had to wait for 30 minutes to get a menu. I will give them an A for effort though: they doubled their manpower and gave us 3 free margaritas for the wait. The food was good and so were the margaritas. The prices were reasonable. The bathroom wasn't very clean but not terrible. Not a bad place to come for a break from the WKY parkway traffic. read more

We were returning to the Louisville area at the end of a short road trip a couple of days ago (it was Monday). We planned to stop at the Leitchfield exit to have dinner and switch drivers before the last leg home. We settled on Las Palmas and very glad we did. My wife, Pat, got the Salmon dinner; I got the Chiles Pablanos dinner and we split a guacamole salad. Oh my! What a bounty. Everything was spot on. Attentive service, good seasoning, generous portions. Tasty, tasty. Just what hungry travelers need. They started us off with complimentary chips, salsa and Pico de Gallo. The chips were nothing special, but the salsa and Pico were outstanding. We ended up mixing them together. The guacamole salad had generous portions of guac, lettuce and diced tomatoes. Pat's salmon was also generous and cooked just right. It came with a small cheese quesadilla, rice and refried beans with cheese. My dinner came with two huge pablanos stuffed with cheese, battered in a traditional egg wash and covered with tomatoes, sautéed peppers and onions, and creamy cheese sauce (I do not like it when chiles are served with red sauce). These were some of the best prepared chiles I've ever had. I had to take almost half my meal home and it made for tasty leftovers! Next time we are stopping in Leitchfield, Las Palmas will be top of our list! read more

Checked this spot out Friday night. I picked the combination plate. The Chile relleno came huge cheese stuffed rich and tasty. Lots of food, left full. Cold beer to wash it all down. Service lacked and took away from the overall experience. The place is clean and roomy. read more

We stopped here on the way back from a trip to Lexington . I will have to say it was really really good. Service was fast and friendly. We will definitely stop again if we are passing through. I ordered a Ribeye steak with onions n peppers, w rice and beans . Was $13.99 ....... when it came out it was like a 20oz lol huge!! I enjoyed it . Kids n wife ordered steak n chicken nachos.
