Honestly I had high hopes because I liked the one in Cumming, but the biggest downfall here is service. It all started with a Grubhub order where a menu item that is apparently not available anymore is still on the menu. Instead of say calling us to see what else we may want they sent plain chicken and rice. We were like what is this? So we called them when it arrived to ask about it. They said to request a refund from Grubhub and then Re-order the same menu item and it would be done correctly. So we did that and an hour later the exact same plain chicken and rice shows up. Now we're starving and our food has been wrong twice. So, my fiancé calls and the manager said they don't have that item on the menu anymore. Well, why does it let people order it then? No real answer. He said to request our money from Grubhub and that we could come in to the restaurant for a free entree which was nice. Our other food? Two taco salads that were relatively bland (one had a hair in it too so gross), a side of pico, and cheese dip. None of it was good. My fiancé goes in to get said free entree a few days later and they were super difficult about it. The service was subpar, and then they didn't want to stick to the agreement. And they even had our name written down on a paper at the register so there's no excuse. We will stick to the one in Cumming or go elsewhere. read more

I eat here a lot due to it being really close to home and convenient, especially when I'm running out to grab a bite to eat with a neighborhood friend. It's a popular spot amongst residents living nearby because options are a bit limited in the immediate area. This is your standard strip mall Mexican restaurant. I've always gotten good service and the food has always been consistent and it's good. It's not going to knock your socks off or the best thing you ever tasted but there's something to be said for good and reliable. It would be kind of nice if the inside were a little more cheery. The problem is I don't eat here often enough. Everything is delicious! The staff is great. I have met the manager / owner. He is so much a part of the community they sponsor a team. Last night I tried the across the border salad. Across the Border Salad Grilled steak, chicken and shrimp, served over a bed of lettuce with onions, bell peppers, fresh slice of tomato and your choice of dressing. There was a ton of protein in there and every bit of it was great! They also give you a big bag of fresh chips and salsa. They have a bunch of locations but keep it feeling like a family spot. Let me tell you about this place. Not only do we get greeted by the friendliest staff and always a cheerful atmosphere but when something goes wrong they take care of you two fold. My husband and I moved to the area 3 years ago. Often going almost every Tuesday. The staff recognizes us as we pretty much order the same thing each time. Laughable but true. The manager always offering his special salsa for us. Well today was just a takeout day after driving 7hrs home from vacation. Go in and someone had mistakenly paid for our dinner and walked out the door with it. I said, no worries I'll just wait in the car if you guys can make it again. No big deal at all. 10min past and out comes the manager with not one but two orders of the same stuff. He said don't worry and to have a good night. He wouldn't let me pay for it. I offered again as I walked back inside and he refused. I did tip them as this was not necessary and was very happy to wait for my food to be made again. 10/10 service and hospitality every time. We arrived on the late side of the evening and were warmly welcomed. Micheal was an enjoyable server and familiar with the menu. A friendly, kind young man. We ordered the steak fajitas which were delicious. The skinny margaritas smooth and zesty. The guacamole was perfect. Loved the warm environment and wonderful folks there. There is plenty of capacity, as the restaurant enjoyed great success and snagged the adjacent retail space for a tasteful expansion (a few years ago). They take good care of large parties, even when they are spontaneous. Las Palmas does a LOT for the community, supporting/sponsoring school teams and events. We love the Cumming location. Visited the Canton location mid afternoon on a Sunday. Only a handful of other customers. Our server disappeared, and we had to ask another server for chips. Ordered a second round of drinks. After finishing our meal we still had not received them and had not seen our server. Asked another server to see about them. He brought two of the three drinks over. Manager came over and we explained situation. He seemed to be annoyed as he said to us "she's working"?? He proceeded to sit with 3 other employees who were rolling silverware into napkins. Our server finally appeared with third drink and apologized saying they had no bartender so she had to make drinks. Here's an idea...the 3 employees and manager sitting and putting silverware in napkins with no incoming customers...why not show some care for the diners actually in the restaurant???? read more

I've been here twice. the first time we dined in, and our experience was interesting... we wanted a booth and they told us they don't have any but didn't really give us the option to just wait, so i asked if i could wait for one and got a sarcastic remark back ( my girlfriend has autism and it stresses her out being in the middle of a restaurant ) , after we wait the 10 minutes that they made seem like we were holding them up we got seated. we got to our seats and our waiter started out normal and nice but then chose to ignore us after our drinks. we're quiet people so i don't think we said anything to upset him, but i genuinely think he only came over to order our drinks and food, any other time i had to wave him down. i had to ask for extra plates, napkins and refills due to him not wanting to come over. we finished our meal which was very appetizing then we got our check, we paid cash but they didn't haven any change in anything under 20 bills but just make it seem like it'd force us to tip bigger.. our second experience we decided to order take out since we live right across the street. we get there and check the food and one of the items was wrong it's not too wrong to where i wanna wait and make everyone else food cold. so I take it and I get it home and it's completely undercooked and the burrito was hard as a rock. I called and they replaced it with another freezing cold burrito with the smallest amount of FROZEN cheese on top. weird experiences. This is some of the best Mexican food we have ever had. I am a picky eater when it comes to Chicken. I don't like bones or fat or veins in my meats, just totally grosses me out.
