Las Playitas II has closed. Re-opened under new name. LP went downhill, maybe new name will help.

Good food at a reasonable price. Really like the chips and salsa. Only $5 for a taco with beans and rice at lunch. Good service and clean.

Our order: 1 Jack Daniels & Coke = $6.00 2 Kids Juice = $3.98 2 Mac & Cheese = $13.98 (my daughter had two servings) 1 Kids Grilled Cheese = $5.79 1 Patty Melt = $9.99 1 Slice Possum Pie = $3.99 Service was on the slow side both times. The food is reminiscent of Cracker Barrel. The ambiance is similar too, although, Mae's has many old photos of historic Eureka Springs which I adored. We all shared a piece of possum pie which is a famous layered dessert of Arkansas. I'd never had it, but was dying to try it. Highly recommend. The sweet two little old ladies beside us asked about it... There is a small gift shop with local items on display such as jewelry, books, and several foods in jars. Not sure if I'm a raving fan just yet, but it's a good go-to restaurant if everything else is crowded. They do close a bit early, though. First thing I noticed is that the menu I was given had a hole in it, and an employee's child was running around the restaurant bothering the guests. The birthday girl ordered crab legs with the lemon pepper sauce: mild. Very soon after she started eating, she noticed that the sauce was not mild. She found it to be very spicy. After awhile, she told the waitress it was too spicy, and she asked for melted butter so she could add it to the sauce and make it less spicy. But it was still too spicy. Then we called the waitress over and told her it was still too spicy. Instead of taking it back and giving my friend a new order, the waitress kept defending it, as if her talking about it being mild would make it mild and thereby change my friend's experience of it being too spicy. The waitress brought my friend another bowl of butter, but by that time, my friend was no longer enchanted with the meal. As we continued eating, all the staff were clattering around, making a racket, moving chairs and even mopping up the floor with a disgusting pan and mop while we were still in the midst of eating. This spoiled my friend's birthday. She said that she would not ever come back to this restaurant. My experience of the food was great. I asked for moderate spice and I liked the flavor and the spiciness. But I was not impressed by the staff. They should have taken my friend's food back and given her a fresh, unspicey meal.

The food used to be great, which is why we came back, but this visit was incredibly disappointing. The seafood smelled old the moment it came to the table and tasted rancid. It honestly made us question how fresh the food actually is. The drinks were also obviously watered down and lacked any real flavor. What made the experience even worse was the service. Our wait staff barely checked on us the entire meal. Drinks were never refilled, and instead of paying attention to tables, the staff spent most of their time standing around the bar talking. It felt like customers were an inconvenience. After mentioning our experience to others, I realized we are not the only ones noticing the decline in quality and service. I have heard similar complaints from several people recently. I have also heard concerns that many of the glowing reviews may be coming from friends and family rather than actual, unbiased customers. Very disappointing because this used to be a place I enjoyed and recommended. Unfortunately, I will not be returning unless major changes are made.

However, the first table they sat us at had the very large plush arm chairs. Which you sit and sink all the way to the floor. The table was at our chins. We asked to move and were reseated. But if they were busy, would not have been an option. We had great and attentive service from Tim. The scallops were divine. The pork was OK, but the apple relish made up for it a bit. Brussels sprouts cooked perfectly as vegetable of the day. We were too stuffed to try dessert.

Entrees came out around 10. My wife had the filet and I had the ribeye. They looked great but were terribly undercooked, so we had to send it back. Didn't really want to because we were eating so late, but it was that bad. Then the recook took so long we just had them box it up. However, the Brussels sprouts and garlic mashed potatoes were delicious. The staff were super nice. Maybe because they were taking shots back behind the bar where they thought we couldn't see them? lol Anyway, wouldn't recommend this place. I can see why it was so easy to get a reservation close to Valentine's Day.

This was great since we are staying in a hotel! This is a really cute spot in Eureka Springs. Not too far outside of downtown. There is parking but not a bunch so it stayed pretty full. We decided to share. We got a dinner salad, summer rolls (not fried here) with shrimp, and the avocado curry with chicken. They do have fried rolls but they call them spring rolls here. I'm used to spring rolls being the rice paper and not fried. They have both. The spring rolls were very good. The peanut sauce is a bit sweet for me but still good. You get 4! The dinner salad was plenty for both of us. I'm not sure what the dressing is that came with it but it was way too sweet for us. I don't think it was a Ginger dressing which I thought would be their house. We would have preferred another dressing but otherwise enjoyed the salad. The avocado curry with chicken was very good. I never know what spice level to get. Some places are too mild and others are hotter even at low levels. My partner doesn't like a lot of spice. I couldn't decide if I should go with mild at 1 (on a scale of 1-5) or go with 2 because I do like some spice (but not so much I can't taste the food). The really nice woman up front said, we can do 1.5 so I said, yes! Well, I guess I am in Arkansas... ha ha. I will definitely ask for 3 when I'm back again. I couldn't taste any heat. Otherwise, the avocado curry was very good. Unique for me. I had not had avocado curry before. Had a bunch of large pieces of avocado! We would definitely go back to Thai House when visiting again. It's one of the only Asian restaurants I have seen in town.

Great recommendations and when the special we ordered was sold out we were able to change the fish for the same prep. Started with a blueberry margarita, which was tart but excellent. I like grapefruit (I peel it like an Orange and eat the wedges without sugar) so right up my alley. Even my wife (who doesn't like grapefruit) loved this drink. Had the Ceviche app. Really good. I am kind of a ceviche expert (have been eating it and a similar food called kelaguin all over the world) and this may be the best we have had in the States. We shared the lobster ravioli and a pecan crusted red snapper (the monkfish was sold out) and both were great. Ravioli was exceptional. Three pieces, shrimp and perfect sauce. Lots of lobster in the filling. The snapper which again was the substitute for the monkfish was light with a more subtle flavor but was served with really good mashed potatoes and broccoli. Unfortunately the ravioli came out first (had to change the fish so slight delay) so the strength of the ravioli flavor would have been better as the second shared entree due to the subtleness of the pecan crusted snapper. But really that is not a complaint. Tight rooms, packed with tables and people. Even so not too loud to have a conversation and everyone was super nice. We will eat here again next time we visit.
