We were there for yard yards and yards and yards sale last weekend and we're so pooped after bargain hunting all day that we decided to pop into Mei's for dinner. The place is clean and quite in a converted house and the staff were nice and friendly. I made the mistake of ordering a sushi roll that I did not notice was deep-fried. To me that just makes it fish and chips and that's not what I was looking for. Totally my fault for ordering it without paying attention and asking for it to be served fresh but the flavor was definitely off, very fishy, so I'm not sure that I wanted it raw either. I will say that the child's portion of orange chicken was very good and the egg roll was pretty delicious, but my friend could not eat her dinner because it was so salty. We had our Valentine's Day dinner here and it was super tasty. The restaurant was cozy and smelled amazing upon entering. Appetizer: stuffed avocado. It was a great blend of crunch bc of the breading and creamy avocado with seafood blend. Rolls: Firecracker, crispy Mickey and volcano. We opted for all deep fried as I'm pregnant and have to avoid raw meat and fish. They were so. GOOD. The firecracker was my favorite bc the shrimp tempura. I really really do like this place. They have the best hot and sour soup & the steamed dumplings are great .You will want to take some home. The sushi is fantastic. I would definitely recommend the Tuna Taki with a little sake. Andy, who owns the restaurant is a great guy. Very funny. His staff is just as great. Dude. I've tried a few sushi spots in Eureka and this takes the cake. Excellent service with a friendly staff, this little hole in the wall offered a LOT more than you'd expect. With a pretty extensive menu and something to appease any diner, this quiet little sushi hut lived up to every expectation. I don't remember what the sushi roll I ordered was called, but man was it delicious! Assembled and drizzled with eel sauce to give the impression of a spider, the presentation was so fun and fanciful I almost didn't want to eat it! As far as size goes, most sushi spots require me to order at least three rolls to walk out with a full belly. Here? Nah. One did the trick. I felt like a bloated tick stuck in the spiders web after I finished. So full I could barely move. Prices were more than fair, the food was soooo good even my wife didn't complain, and the service was top notch. What more could you ask for when dining out? Can't wait to go back!!! read more

Great location, service, and food. Went here w my wife on vacation. Sat on the patio and it had an excellent view. We got the complimentary miso soup. It looked great but was too salty. We ordered an off menu recommendation called the Lance Armstrong and a bento box w teriyaki shrimp, general Tso chix, spicy tuna roll. The box was overall good but the teriyaki shrimp, it just lacked character. The roll was well, too much. Yes, I heard it was literally every fish and sauce but it lacked cohesion and direction. It was just a kitchen sink dish. The drink we got with saki as alcohol on magarita didn't ink was well balanced and excellent. Place is worth a shot. read more

I am asian and grow up in Asia and I have a good judgement on asian food, and this is good quality asian food. A great mix of japanese, chinese and etc. The service was great. The ambiance was relaxing we sat outside in the patio and have a nice view of the back. Overall chill setting. The deep fried sushi was my favorite because the flavors and the size. I also got the bento box but it was just ok, the general chicken I was not that impress. The children lo mein was awesome my son is picky but he finished the plate clean. My husband enjoyed the spicy pork that he ordered. A bit pricey if you order more than what you need but average price for good asian meal. I would highly reccomend! read more

Annual trip visiting artist mom of my boyfriend. Love this little growing town. Been wanting to try this place out. Wowww coming from California and living half time in Dallas, so impressed with the quality and cleanliness of this restaurant. The staff are young and attentive. The service is good this we had a really great experience here. Pricing is fair. Love the complimentary soup when dining in. It's the little things that adds value and people like myself is very appreciative of it. We had a local diner gave us the awesome tips. Be that as it may, I regret not taking photos I had the seaweed salad, excellent, the Sashimi plate..it was described on the menu as 7 to 9 pieces..I left it to the chef's discretion as to choice, and I got not 7, not 9, but 12!!!, lovely pieces!! Also included was a complimentary bowl of soup. Your choice of egg drop, hot and sour, or wonton. I left with my sushi craving thoroughly satiated. Highly Recommend. read more

Parking is problematic here like everywhere in Eureka but it's worth it for the fresh sushi. We love their miso soup and the wait staff is always very personable and friendly. It has a relaxed dressy feel perfect for a date. I wouldn't suggest a big party here although they are able to do it the restaurant is small and popular. I have eaten here with kids and they have equipment to handle it but I wouldn't say it's especially kid friendly due to small dining space. My kids have grown up in restaurants and are well mannered but it has a soft ambiance so their energy can get loud quickly. Take out has a side door so you can call an order in and pick up without leaving your car which is awesome too! read more

Little ambient Chinese restaurant with friendly service, food was disappointing. Wife had the California roll which was big but dry. The egg drop soup was different as well with big slices of onions in it. Main course wife ordered the generals chicken with lo mein; which I ended up eating due to my order of beef broccoli having mushrooms (allergy) chicken was flavored okay and tender, noodles were bland, no flavor, fried rice wasn't good either.
