The hotel we stayed in was 5-8 minutes from this gem . I made it a point to show up early as to not have to fight crowds or parking. Parking was great and the perfect number of other people there. I walked, shopped and talked. I saw some awesome things and some things I had seen before. There was live music, old guy killing it on the guitar with a donation jar. The majority of the shops were very chill, very friendly, very happy to see a new face. And they could all tell I was from out of town, all the picture taking may have given it away. I tried the le soup's chocolate and almond croissant. It was great, the owner told me it was twice baked so it was be very flaky..messy.(this man knew what he was talking about, as it was good as it was messy) The beautiful flowers always get me going because we live in California and have such an awesome variety. I live in central CA and everything I would have purchased here would have died on the way home or when I got there. (105 temperatures are a regular thing here) The 2 places that had a line 5+ people long were the coffee shop and the fresh fish place. It's always interesting to see what people are into in different people in places are into. I will probably come back when I'm in the area again and I look forward to seeing even more great things!

The vendors are incredibly kind to let you try samples of the goods. We tried Salsa, Kefir and pastries. It was nice to see a new coffee vendor Bonito Coffee that I have not heard of before and it was a tasty coffee. Lots of produce vendors there and a few unique vendors like dog chews and treats, crochet items and wooden boxes with secret drawers. One of the farmer markets you need to try on a Saturday when visiting Camarillo.

I suggested that we stop by, especially since I was hoping to start repopulating our air plants. Free parking very close - check. Full slate of vendors - mostly check. Air plant / succulent vendor? - Not this time. While that was a let down, there were other options to choose from, so we walked the the rows of stalls. Apparently dragon fruit is popular now. I haven't tried it, but this would be the place to do so. Also popular right now are many varieties of apples (three of my favorites were on hand from a grower in Tehachapi - Cameo, Mutsu, and Pink Lady), along with persimmons and pomegranates. If one is planning to create holiday decorations using national elements, this would be a good place to pick up fruits in red and orange bright colors. I enjoyed sampling several other types of apples with which I wasn't familiar. Prices are higher than I was expecting, and we're short on refrigerator space right now, so I kept purchases to a minimum this time. There was a line at the tamale vendor, so we didn't pick any up on this visit. The bread vendor had sky high prices, so I passed. For better deals, I've been able to go closer to closing time and received better pricing as the vendors don't want to have to pack up what they brought - they'd rather sell it at a reduced rate. Honey and jams were available, but the egg man was packing up; all sold out by 3 p.m. Many of the vendors are local, and some come even from the San Joaquin Valley, i.e., Fresno-area.

Vendors are always willing to answer all questions and out their products. Parking can be tricky so the lot fills up fast. No worries through as there's plenty of parking across the street. It's located in a parking lot behind the main strip and in a residential area. All street parking but it tends to be pretty easy. There's a bakery vendors that I've had a few times but they do sell out quite fast. Their fresh baked bread and sweets are one not to be missed. This visit, they weren't there in their usual section so I assume they were pretty much sold out fast. Loads of fresh organic vendors with all their goods. As it was summer, there were so many vendors with amazing tomatoes. Heirlooms, grape tomatoes and so all. Everything all looked so fresh and I'm sure it was straight from the farm that morning. Also loads of other vendors selling their homemade goods, like soap to candles to everything in between. Majority of the vendors are fresh produce so you know you'll be picking up fresh farm products. Also fresh flowers are always a must when a visiting the farmers market. Can't forget the fresh berries and fruits. Doesn't scream summer without all the fresh berries straight of the plant. Regardless what you're looking for or not, I'm sure you'll always leave with plenty of fresh things at this market. Their items are always so fresh. A must whenever I'm Ojai. It's always on a Sunday morning.

Prices are a bit more than Oxnard prices but I do think it's great to support local especially seeing the quality difference between local vendors and grocery stores. $13 for eggs still seems a bit steep for recovering from the egg hiked prices where they are now back to $6-7 in grocery stores. There was a vendor that sells sourdough breads and she was quite popular has she always had a line. Caroline's preservative jams are amazing in flavor and quality. I also appreciated that Centri Coffee was there so that I could buy some whole beans.

There are not a lot of vendors, and they change from time to time, but since I mainly buy fruits and vegetables there are always vendors that sell those and I always find what I need and more. The tamales stand is one of my favorites. Their tamales are a bit bigger in size and has plenty of filling, it is delicious! But at $5 a tamale it is pretty pricey so I only get it when I'm craving it.

Fresh produce? Always hits. Flowers? Stunning every time. Vendors? So friendly. It's the kind of place you come to stroll and leave with a full tote and very happy. Also... the food court deserves its own moment. Artisan bakery goods, fresh juice, and tamales. Do yourself a favor and stand in line, it's worth the wait. Heads up: no pets due to health department regulations. Easy to walk, great vibes, occasional live music, and feels very Ventura in the best way.

los angeles out-of-towner here, on a weekend trip with my cousins and we loved this farmers market!…read morelots of friendly vendors, very chill and open. we found close parking, too. we showed up at 11, with an hour left of the market (I believe it's 8-12?). so many different stands, all kinds of beautifully colored produce (see: purple bell pepper i've never ever seen in my life!! wish i'd gotten one to try.) I had a lovely chat with Raymond and Christine at their baked goods stand and got some gluten free treats for my partner when I get back home. The food section was lively and had fantastic tamales. Everyone is so friendly and a few booths stayed open shortly past 12 for last minute purchases. Can't wait to make a delicious dinner tonight with produce and fresh pasta we got here!
