I went here to have my Irish Setter work boots resoled. I generally just replace the boots, but the soft factory bottom (this boot is made for hunting, not construction like I use it) allows them to wear out every 3-5 months and they cost $200 to replace. I decided to pay $125 for a flat-bottom sole and am very happy with the workmanship, quality, and comfort of the replacement. I've been taking shoes here for two decades. Not only do I regularly have soles and heels replaced, but the owner actually remade a pair of Rockport sandals. There were thrashed from being worn in and out of salt water for 30 years. The owner recommended against remaking them because it would be too expensive. How honest is that!! I insisted because the charge was less than half the cost of a replacement pair. I'm glad I did because I ended up with what looked like a new pair of Rockport sandals! So very pleased. Rather than discard two pairs of expensive flip-flops with loose thongs, I asked if they could be repaired. Again, I walked out with shoes that were like new! Not only is the owner an expert craftsman, he is also friendly while remaining professional. Camarillo is soooo lucky to have Las Posas Shoe Repair! I went to this shoe repair about three times too many. The first two times I had him put a 1/2" lift in my tennis shoes, which requires removing the outer sole, inserting the lift, then replacing the sole. When I would turn over the shoe, there would be a small hole in the bottom. When I asked him about it, he said he was not perfect. I like to give people the benefit of the doubt. So, I went a second time. Same story. (I have had this done in the past at Red Wing Shoes in T.O. and that guy is an artist! Flawless work.) Then I went a third time to resole some old boots. I had just polished them a week before and did not notice any other blemishes. Upon picking them up, I noticed tears in the upper portion of the boot. Since he requires payment up front (I'm not sure that is legal), I could not get my money back. He claims that the tears were already there. After I returned home, I tried to unzip them, and noticed that the zipper had pulled loose at the side. He must have noticed that because I brought them to him unzipped. So he damaged the zipper, as well. Oh, and he's very "friendly," quite a distraction from his work. Do not trust this guy! Any reputable shoe repair will advise if the shoes are too worn to be worth resoling, so either he looked the other way when he noticed they were too damaged or he damaged them. He does not take his reputation seriously. If he really wanted to make this right, he would refund my money. He's not versed in customer service. I recently went to Red Wing Shoes in TO for some other shoes. He takes a week because he has so many orders but he's worth the wait. Red Wing Shoes is an artist at shoe repair, and he does not charge upfront because he's confident in his work, unlike Las Posas Shoe repair. If Las Posas Shoe Repair really wanted me to come again, as he said in his response, below, he would refund my money, so his words are empty. read more

The owner of the shop assured me that he could fix it, but when I picked it up he made it into a Franken purse which I could no longer use. And of course all repairs are paid for upfront. I asked he the next day if he would atleast refund me half since he ruined the purse and he would not.
