One of my local street taco spots. You can order tacos and fries, one of my guilty pleasures. You can tell it's authentic because all the Latino community is deep in here. The smaller tacos come Mexican style with cilantro and onions. They have a bar that offers salsas and other garnishes like radishes and jalapeños. They also offer burritos, soups, tortas, pastries and nachos. They have all the Mexican juices and sodas. They recently moved across the street, which is better. It has its own parking instead of sharing with the gas station. It feels more clean and it is also much bigger. I prefer to order ahead and pick up because there's usually a small wait. But you can dine in, there's plenty of seating now. This place has no frills, so you really probably won't dine in. I like Las Tortas. I have had it many times but this location... They need to figure some stuff out. Just logistically it seems like the staff were all over the place. As a take out spot I think their service should be faster but it took 20 minutes from walking into the shop and walking out with my food. For lunch, that's probably not what you're looking for because you won't have enough to even eat by the time you get it. Inside, it's just a long long hallway it feels like. Bathroom on one end, and then just echo for days and it's loud. It's just alright, but there are plenty of seating. I want to note that the food is good though. I haven't been here in a while. All this must wear a mask and sanitizing stuff going on kept me at home cooking my own food. The cooks and cashier have on actual clear type face shields with gloves so they are ready! There was a few people inside ordering but it's so small you cant do the 6ft apart so I waited in my car until it cleared. Since I ready knew what I wanted. I ordered my usual a bistek burrito. I cant believe how small it was compared to how they usually serve them. They are definitely cutting back. It was good but usually I cant finish it. It was very petite. OK, so I eat clean five days out of seven. I allow two cheat meals. Saturday lunch and Taco Tuesday. Eating this way keeps me fit and gives me something to look forward to. When I go off my routine it straight stinks to have a bad meal. This Taco Tuesday was AWESOME! I have driven past La Toarta Locas many times, even frequented the bodega next door but never ate there. After today, I feel like I have been playing myself...LOL I ordered via UberEats and had four (don't judge me) of the most filling tacos that I've had in a while. Asada, Pastor w Pineapple (INSANE), Chorizo and Barbacoa. Each came on two corn tortillas with onion and cilantro. Honestly, two tacos were enough but I'm no quitter, so I ate all four...LOL The price point was good. The delivery time was under thirty minutes and the tacos were super good. This will be my Taco Tuesday place moving forward, provided that today's performance was no fluke. read more

The food here is fantastic, but plan to take it to-go. There are only a handful of seats at bars along the walls and a couple tables on a patio. They share a building with the gas station, so do your best to reserve judgment. The tortas are out of this world- fresh bread, flavorful meats, authentic. The burrito and nachos are also fantastic. I always get chips and cheese dip, which is great, but pretty standard. The salsa bar offers a lot of variety, which my husband loves. I myself load up on the green creamy salsa, but he likes them all. I had three orders, I ordered a Chicken torta with no tomatoes and they gave me a beef torta with tomato. This chain has good Mexican food. I wish they improve on there inspection score though. I believe its in the B level. Other than that, prices are decent but it can add on if you order their sandwich and add on a few tacos. They expanded their restaurant so there is a bit more space to sit and eat in. This is truly a hole in the wall dive taco shop with scenic vistas of pumps 8-12 of the Shell station. While the atmosphere and seating may be lacking, the flavors of your steak tacos and tasty chips and salsa will more than make up for it. I've been coming here for a while now because it's next door to my gym. Located next to a gas station on the southbound side of 141, it can be hard to find. After workouts I just don't feel like cooking, not even a small meal. And although it's not the most healthiest of foods, tortas are fast , simple, and cheap. Omg... That was really tasty! Tortas are by no means a light meal and I could've taken down 2 of those bad boys. The bread was nice and soft with just a bit of that chewiness I oh so love. I ended up getting 2 different tortas which were kind of mixed up with my friends orders so I don't even know exactly what I had. I normally would just open it up to check, but I inhaled both before I remembered. The sauces and pickled veg that come with it are a must have. I LOVE THIS PLACE IS AN UNDERSTATEMENT. I've ordered many chicken tortas and pork tortas from this place for the past 6 months and I am always left satisfied! They're pretty quick with or without placing an order ahead of time. The only complaint I have is the small waiting area. Sometimes it gets really really crowded during lunch hour. Other than that, their HORCHATA is the best I've ever had! It's the perfect consistency and the cinnamon is not overwhelming at all. Lately Los Tortas has been letting me down the last 3 times I came to this location they have gotten my order wrong or they simply don't give me all the food I ordered which to me is silly as the receipt and the orders are in Spanish so how can you mess up the order?! The number 2 means the same thing in English as it does in Español. I've gotten pathetic excuses as to why they missed certain items and I don't believe the staff they have now cares about getting the orders right. We ordered steak burritos and cheese fries. I get this is an authentic place but the meat was dry and aside from a little cilantro there were no veggies in sight. I hate the bring the average of this place down, there's nothing wrong with it at all! It just didn't rate more than 3 stars to me. Yes, it's a tiny hole in the wall and I took that into account, I'm just talking about the food. Philip and I had a ground beef taco, nachos (chips with a cup of cheese sauce to pour over), and a carne asada torta. Everything was just fine... but that was it. The bread was good, the steak was relatively tender, the portions are certainly filling but... well... it just seemed like plain ol' fast food to me. And nothing wrong with that!
