This is our go to spot whenever we're in downtown Norcross! It is some of the best Mexican food around! The service can sometimes be a tossup but the prices & flavor are worth it! Plenty of parking right beside the building too!

We came in through back entrance. We were greeted immediately and everyone was very helpful. The bartender made room for us to sit at the bar. Chips and salsa came and the salsa spicy and good. The bartenders name was Maria Gabriela and she was friendly and personable. I got a strawberry margarita and my husband a Pacifico on tap. The margarita was delicious and refreshing made to order. (Didn't come out a pre mixed machine). I ordered the enchiladas verdes it came with rice and beans. My husband ordered the chorizo sopas. The food came out fast very fast! I was nervous how fast it came thinking it was pre cooked. It was not. The food was phenomenal tradition Mexican. The spices and sauces used were amazing. We had enough to take home and have it for a second dinner while we were in town. Seating inside and outside. On the back deck people were enjoying food and it was dog friendly. We would 100% recommend.

Today we stopped in for some appetizers and margarita to kick off National Margarita Day tomorrow. Coming into the restaurant we was greeted with some beautiful employees and the gorgeous decor of the dining area. Our waitress Ms. Osama G, was the best. Ms. Osama was very attentive to everything. We asked if they offered Margarita Flights at this time they don't offer that chose. But little did we know Ms. Osama went to the manager Mr. Jammy and told him we was interested in flights. After eating the mouth watering complementary salsa and chips, queso cheese, elotes and sipping on our perfectly made Cucumber Margarita and Pineapple Margarita. And getting some salsa and elotes togo. We was approached by Mr. Jammy. He mentioned that Ms. Osama told him about the flights. After asking how was our food and being very professional and hospitable Mr. Jammy said for National Margarita Day they will offer flights. But later on it will be a menu item. So, you know I will be here for that. Y'all I hate that we couldn't try more menu items, we was killing time before going somewhere else. Also, let me mention Zapata has a patio dining space in the back along with extra parking if there isn't any parking in the front. Zapata is a hidden gem of downtown Norcross. It's that neighborhood secret hangout spot with fantastic food, drinks and company. With that being said I truly and highly recommend this place to you. Oh! And I will be back tomorrow ٩(‿。)۶.

I continue to discover new favorites at Zapata. Excellent margarita selection with infused tequilas - Serrano and strawberry are yummy. Créma de poblano soup, molcajete, queso de morales is a delicious indulgence (share with a friend). Sombrero bowl with shrimp was so generous, became a second meal at home. Fantasia olmeca, the list goes on. We hardly ever wait to get seated and service is quick. One of my go-to's for authentic Mexican.

We loved this place! The bartender was super kind and helpful. He talked to us about the town and surrounding area as we were visiting for a weekend. Relaxing atmosphere in historic downtown. The drink selection is good and our food was just perfect. Very flavorful and filling.

I enjoyed my garlic shrimp dish and we enjoyed our time there. The service was also great and the ambiance was chill.

Loved the margs selection! For flavored margs, they infuse their tequila with the flavoring for at least 2 weeks. So if you don't like sweet margs, would def highly recommend a flavored skinny marg! I had my glass lined with tajin and it def hit the spot. Also ordered a variety of their tacos, they range about $5 per taco. Came with a side of cilantro, onion and lime for you to top yourself. A side of beans or rice comes with their combo - I chose beans and while it looked delicious, it tasted extremely salty (and I like salty foods lol). Service was great, they have a handheld ordering/payment machine so everything is quick and straightforward. Ambiance is great as long as you don't mind your neighbors being pretty close to you - tables are pretty close by each other. A baby sitting next to our table in her high chair literally tried handing me her cup. It was cute hahaha. Def a place to try if you're ever in the downtown Norcross area! Parking can be tricky on their peak days and hours since it's shared with other stores/restaurants by the strip. There's a combo of street parking and parking lot parking, so just drive around and you should be able to find a spot.

We were able to visit this establishment in Atlanta during quick weekend visit. They have seating on the patio in the back, and this is where we had a our lunch. They didn't have any drink or lunch specials, and the food was okay. Our service was good, and I had no complaints of our visit. Overall, not a bad option for a quick lunch or a night out for drinks.

Such a great spot! It's small but packs a punch. I got the enchiladas and they were so delicious!! My husband got sopas and I was eating them more then he was, I loved it. We got some margaritas which were fairly tasty. We tried the papa's appetizer and it was really good also. I definitely recommend this place if you've never been. Our server was also super friendly, he checked on us regularly and made our experience even better.

Wow! Let me start off by saying I DO NOT give 5 stars out like candy. As a foodie I expect food to always be cooked to perfection! So because of that when food is cooked like it should be I don't automatically give the restaurant a 5. Zapata exceeded my expectations so they get 5 stars! We had margaritas and I the waitress told us that they were made with homemade syrup. We tried the blueberry and pineapple. The blueberry was not to my liking but OMG was I blow away by the pineapple flavor. It was not too sweet and didn't taste like the average overly sugared margaritas I've had before when you ask for a flavor. Oh and it had the right amount of alcohol ;). Next we had calamari for an appetizer. The helping was very hearty (we took half home). They were crisp, fresh, seasoned to perfection, and the jalapeños was a great addition to give it a Mexican flavor. For our main We shared a shrimp molcajetes. The waitress said it was one of their signature dishes and The table next to me ordered one and I was intrigued by how it was served. The sauce was seasoned well and a complete bowl of yumminess. My husband wasn't a fan it but he couldn't deny the flavor was very good. Our wait wasn't too long for a Friday night. But as it got later there was a bit of a wait for others. And we had excellent service. I appreciated the waitress telling us we should wait to order our main until after we get our appetizers. I realized after that they give big portions. We will definitely be back to explore more of the menu.

First, I just want to say, I am a Mexican food lover/enthusiast. I am giving my very honest opinions on the dishes me and my boyfriend ordered here. If you want good Mexican food, go somewhere else. We both got the 3 taco combo with beans. I ordered the al pastor, steak, and chorizo. Al pastor tasted like what dog food smells like. The steak...I don't even know how to describe how awful it was. I had to drench my steak and pastor tacos with salsa to finish it. I didn't take a bite out of the chorizo taco at all because the meat tasted like ground beef with chorizo ground seasoning or something. The tacos alone are $4.50/ea. The beans were horrible and had hot dogs in them. Not sure if I have ever had hot dogs in my beans. I could not finish the beans for the life of me. The $10 elote is corn from the can. Who do you think you're fool'in?? Not something I liked either. There are so many amazing taco spots around Gwinnett, please do not waste your time and money here. Don Pedro is literally down the street off Buford highway, which is much tastier and affordable than Zapata. You guys should be ashamed of yourselves for serving this kind of food. SMH. Face palm. I can only compliment on the service, but without good food, how can they even make any money?

My friend and I attended the fireworks show at Lilian Webb Park in downtown Norcross, and we walked around downtown Norcross exploring the booths. We wanted to get something to eat, and she recommended Zapata Tacos because they were so good. We went into the restaurant to get carry out for the tacos to bring to our spot at the park to watch the fireworks. The hostess was very professional and friendly, and took our orders. She told us our orders would be 15 minutes each and welcomed us to have a seat while we waited for our orders. Everyone was kind and pleasant towards us. The ambiance was very nice and classy for a Mexican restaurant. It was packed and busy, which is a good sign for a Mexican restaurant. Our orders did take 15 minutes each, and we checked out with the host. I ordered the Taco combo of three tacos and beans. My taco choice was two pollo tacos (chicken) and a pastor taco (marinated pork). I took the bite of the pollo taco and it was amazing! It was hot and fresh and grilled to perfection! The chicken was cooked to perfection and the flavor was excellent. The sauce for the tacos was very spicy, but very good. The marinated pork taco was just as good, and had great juicy flavors. I was very impressed with the beans. The beans were excellent and just prepared the right way. They were not too salty and tasted wonderful. Probably the best beans I have had in quite a while. Zapata Tacos was excellent and if I were in Norcross again, I would definitely come back here and dine inside for dinner. The tacos are fantastic and a great value for your buck! You have to go to Zapata Tacos and Tequila bar for the tacos! The margaritas are excellent as well!

"There's something magical about rooftops. You feel like you're in 'Mary Poppins."…read moreGeorge Clarke There really is something special about being on a rooftop on a perfect summer evening, and it's great to have it right in downtown Sugar Hill. I would like to say I planned the perfect date, but as some of the best things in life, this was just an impromptu visit to cap off an already great evening. Outside of being on the rooftop, the bar itself is upscale yet approachable, service was fast and friendly. Being a bit of a self engrandized home bartender I'm a bit critical when out of my home lab, but their Smoked Old Fashioned wasn't bad. ("Wasn't bad" really means very good.") While I don't love the prices and hate paying a cover charge, when you throw in live music, a great vibe, and a view, I can't really complain. The owner made an announcement that whoever tipped the band $10 would get a free drink, and since most drinks were over $15 I thought that was cool on many levels. Will definitely be back to The Rooftop!

We walked around and finally ran into a waitress who told us to sit anywhere we wished inside or outside. The only area festive was inside a closed igloo and no heaters were on outdoors which was just a tad too cool for me despite the super nice weather that day. It would have been so to sit outside but without the warmth of the heaters we headed inside. We placed our order and explained we were just there for a pre-dinner drink and wanted to check out the venue so we didn't leave our tab open but we were quickly served the fabulous taking drinks on their menu(s). The Old Fashioned was on the regular menu and the Russian was on their seasonal tabletop menu. Server was very nice and took photos for some ladies we met. The only reason I can't give them a 5 star is they claim they are big on hospitality but yet we were not acknowledged upon arrival. Many restaurants and even some retail stores have a way to ensure they say hello/welcome immediately when you enter and without a hostess - the mindset should be that the bar or wait staff have a way to immediately say hello or welcome so those who have never been feel welcomed as well as those who frequently come. It would be nice to have a more festive decor for the holidays but that didn't affect my review; just a statement to say that the entire Sugar Hill area was pumping and themed with the holiday spirit then we walked in the only area decorated was not even accessible nor was it offered as an option to enjoy.

Some of our food came out cold or lukewarm, which was disappointing. Even our sodas lacked flavor as it seemed to be mostly carbonation (there is only one free re-fill with sodas). The most damning was the portion compared to price. The spring rolls, pictured in this review, were two rolls cut in half and priced at $13.95. The service is also underwhelming. The amount of parties in the restaurant in relation to the availability of our server did not leave an amazing impression.
