The tres leches cake was also to DIE for. Recommend getting appetizers to split as well (the 4 of us devoured them haha). Service: Food was so fast, even on a busy Saturday night! Ambiance: Such a cute store inside. Not much seating, but we sat by the bars which worked out fine. There is a good ambiance of Latin music inside, it's bright and colorful, even though it's small. Definitely recommend coming if you're ever in Revere Beach!!

Good Mexican food is hard to find in the Boston area, so hopes were high. Ordered delivery which was really pricey via ubereats (they're not part of Uber one). First the good, they have some tasty dishes, which carried the whole meal: Their namesake dish, esquite Mexicano was delicious. Super creamy, just enough tang, cheesy and addictive. It was my first time trying this dish so I was surprised they use canned/frozen corn. Horchata was delicious, nutty and refreshing, perfect amount of sweetness. The tres leches cake was phenomenal. Perfectly moist and sweet and tasted freshly made. The not good: The birria tacos were the best of the tacos I tried. Really delicious and the best birria I've had in the area. Unfortunately, it was a tiny portion for the price, $14 for 2 tacos and consume, that's $7 per taco and they're small. Also, they didn't have nearly enough cilantro and onion. The bad: The rice that came with the taco plate was undercooked to the point of being hard and crunchy, not pleasant at all. The carnitas tacos were dry and flavorless. None of the tacos had enough cilantro and onion. The mole chicken tamal was super dry and salty; a sad tamal. Lastly, the full menu is not available on ubereats.

We walked into a small, unassuming space where the focus is squarely on freshly prepared food made with bold, authentic flavors. The dining room is modest and functional, with a counter and a handful of tables that give it the feel of a neighborhood taquería rather than a sit-down restaurant. The energy is practical and welcoming, with the open kitchen allowing us to see the tortillas being pressed and the meats being grilled fresh behind the counter. The birria tacos are the signature order and the dish that defines the menu. We ordered a few and found the tortillas crisped up on the griddle, the beef tender and well seasoned, and the rich consommé served on the side for dipping. The combination of the savory meat, the crispy tortilla, and the deep, slightly smoky broth made each bite feel layered and complete. Other standouts include the adobada tacos, which had a good char and a subtle spice that built gradually, and the lengua torta, with tender tongue layered between a soft roll and topped with fresh ingredients. The pozole was hearty and comforting, with a broth that carried the flavor of the hominy and meat without being overly heavy. The tamales, chicken flautas, and well-seasoned rice and beans rounded out the menu, each arriving hot and freshly made. The pickled onions and house salsas added extra flavor, and the horchata was a popular choice to pair with the meal, its cinnamon sweetness cutting through the richness of the dishes. Service was friendly and welcoming, and the restaurant maintained a relaxed neighborhood atmosphere that keeps people coming back. Despite its modest size, the kitchen moved efficiently, making it a reliable option for both dine-in and takeout. The staff checked in at the right moments and kept the pacing of the meal comfortable, ensuring that even when the small dining room filled up, the experience stayed smooth. If you are looking for authentic Mexican food in the Boston area, Taquería Jalisco stands out for its consistently flavorful cooking, generous portions, and menu built around classic recipes rather than modern interpretations. It is the kind of place where the food speaks for itself, and the simplicity of the setting only adds to the sense that you are eating something made with care and tradition.

Thankfully, I noticed it before my child could consume it, but the situation could have been much worse. Immediately after finding it, I called the restaurant twice and received no answer. Since I couldn't reach anyone by phone, I went to the restaurant in person. I wasn't looking for a refund or any kind of compensation--I simply wanted some accountability and reassurance that the issue would be taken seriously. The person who appeared to be the owner was dismissive of my concerns. Instead of addressing the possibility that the object came from the kitchen or investigating the matter, he suggested that maybe someone had dropped it into the nachos while eating. When I explained that it looked like a screw or nail and reiterated that my child could have swallowed it, the concern was largely brushed off. Finding a foreign object in food is alarming enough, but the lack of concern and accountability afterward was even more disappointing. Customer safety should be taken seriously, and I left feeling that my concerns were not acknowledged or valued.

We also had an issue with our check being run in cash, which none of us carried. They came and asked us to pay in cash versus with a card and we had to explain that we don't carry cash. The issue was resolved, it just kind of confused us. The place was quiet for a Friday but it was a nice atmosphere.
