Each treatment takes about 5 minutes and while it feels like a warm rubber band is being snapped on your skin, it is not painful (waxing hurts more) and you can see immediate results. Laser Aesthetic Center is very professional and while you are there- you can look over all the other treatments that you may want one day, Botox injections, Juvederm, Chemical peels, vein treatment, and pretty much anything else you might want to look your best. Usually there is a pricing deal so if you go- ask about it as their promotional rates are usually about half of their posted rates. And if you are lucky- you may be able to find a Groupon that will give you the 6 treatments for one area for around $130! Call well before you want to begin the actual treatment as you will need to stop whatever hair removal you are currently doing for about 6 weeks to allow the hair to fill the hair follicle. Last January I started on what I will call "The dolphin project" because I got a terrific groupon for Laser Aesthetic Center. I was a tiny bit anxious when I went the first time. I was early so I calmed down a bit at the McDonald's right across the street. OK, I can do this I told myself as I crossed the street and entered the building. The office really calmed me down - it is very peaceful with a sortof leather library feel in the waiting room. For that appointment and the next 4, I had Yazmine who is just a terrific tech. She was so professional and competent and put me completely at ease. Completely at ease is no small trick when a laser is is zapping sensitive areas but she did it. Does it hurt? Not really hurt, you are just pretty darn aware that it is happening and that you have paid for this annoying sortof zap. But it's over quickly and no aftereffects at all. For the last treatment, I had a different tech who was also superb. Once I had occasion to call the office and the manager was so accommodating, it really impressed me. I also got reminder calls and it was easy when I had to change an appointment. It's been about two months since I completed this stage of my project. I have been interested in laser hair removal for some time now and have seen the mixed reviews while doing my research, so when I saw Groupon was offering a deal, I clenched my jaw and hit the purchase button. I want permanently hairless underarms. After I purchased the Groupon, I called LAC and the receptionist was very friendly and explained to me over the phone what I should expect at my first appointment (which would also include a consultation). You can schedule appointments online, which I found to be really convenient--as soon as the next operating day. That's good for me, because my schedule is very busy and hectic, so not having to plan too far ahead is ideal. When I got into the treatment room the tech, Yasmine, explained to me what I'd experience during the treatment, and what kind of results I should expect. She said it would feel like a hot rubber band snapping your skin. Let me say this: IT IS PAINFUL. For me, it felt more like a liquid magma hot rubber band snapping my skin! I had to ask her to stop a couple times, and each time she turned down the intensity of the laser a little bit. She asked if I had a low pain tolerance, and I didn't think I did, but I guess so... I even started to sweat a little bit, from enduring the pain, haha! So far I have had two treatments out of the six my Groupon supplies. On the 2nd treatment, I used a different tech, Amy, who said since the skin in my underarms was slightly dark, she was going to use a different laser than Yasmine did. She also explained to me that there are a lot of nerve endings in the armpits, so it's a more painful area to laser than others. That made me feel less like a whimp. On the 2nd treatment, since there was less hair, it hurt less. I commented that it hurt less this time (thinking that it might be due to using a different laser) but she explained the zapping is the laser distroying the hair folicle. So the more treatments you have, the less painful it is since there's less hair growing. So far, after only 2 treatments, I have seen a dramatic reduction in hair growth. In fact, I noticed a difference after the 1st treatment, but it takes about a week or so to notice. I haven't shaved in over 2 weeks and the hair is barely visible unless I get right up onto the mirror. I have a couple stragglers of my normal/thick hair holding out on me, but the rest looks like baby hair--very fine and short. Even factoring in the pain, for me, it was completely worth it. (But I couldn't imagine getting this treatment on my bikini area...) The pain is only for that instant, while you're getting zapped, it doesn't linger at all, there's no residual aching or the like. I've read reviews of other laser centers where they already had 10 treatments and the hair was still there, or they were having a hard time making an appointment over the phone, and I'm thankful that my experience here wasn't like that at all. One--ok two--negative things I'll say about this place is the gross, cracking leather couch in the waiting area. It looks about 100 years old. And #2, while the techs were knowledgable and answered all my questions, they weren't necessarily friendly. Both of them seemed kind of snobbish. I know I used a Groupon, and I'm not spending as much money as other clients paying full price for the same service, but that doesn't mean I should be treated differently. I purchased a Groupon for laser hair removal in 6 sessions. My first couple of sessions were AMAZING. Excellent service, clean facilities, and really nice people. Then around my 3rd treatment I suffered a minor burn. I was like no biggie, it's lasers it happens sometimes. It was painful but healed pretty quickly. Then on my last session I got HUGE burn on my arm! Worst part is it wasn't even in my underarm area but on the front portion of my arm! It's so ugly and very visible. I contacted them right away once it started showing up to see if they could advise on ways to make it scar less and was told that someone would contact me.....and then no one ever did. I was so disappointed and had been raving about this place to my friends but took it all back after my last session. EDIT: As soon as the doctor saw my post he contacted me right away to see if I was ok and asked me to come in any time so he could take a look at the burn. He was willing to open his office specially for me and he continued to check up on me to see if I was ok. The initial lack of response was due to miscommunication but since then they have really done their part in making sure I was taken care of. If you want people who genuinely care for your well being this is the place to go! Definitely recommend it now! read more

Woha are we talking about the same place here? I am surprised at all the amazing reviews. When first entering this place it reminds me of a doctor that accepts HMO... just one word weird. The waiting room is dark, dingy, and all the cracked leather couches look like they have been sitting there for a good 20 years. Its just not a clean modern place i would ever trust touching my face or body with a laser. The reception was less then friendly. I went to get a chemical peel the girl performing was also less then friendly. The peel burned more then usual (I have had them before) and I got almost burn marks in certain places (that ended up healing fine but it was odd) that has NEVER happened during any peel I have ever had either. Less then desired results, looked horrible and scabby for 2 weeks then saw no improvement after it healed. Would not recommend. This place is def. a pass for me... you get what you pay for. read more

I have a lot of ingrown hairs on my cheeks so my dermatologist suggested that I do laser hair removal. After reading the reviews on the Laser Aesthetic Center I decided to give it a try. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. They did a combination of laser hair removal and peels to smoothen out my skin texture and to remove the ingrown hairs. The treatment hurt a little bit but it was well worth the money. After 7 sessions I am happy to say that I no longer have an ingrown hair issue and my skin is in much better condition. read more

Staff who are not too interested in talking to clients (the phone will ring and ring or someone who is "working remotely" during regular business hours picks up but doesn't have access to records or patient information) and if you do get someone, they always have to call you back. I called 2+ months ago to make an appointment for today (I am 45+ miles away from this place) & when I called yesterday to confirm my appointment they said that they cancelled all the appointments for today because there weren't enough people on the schedule - mind you - I NEVER received a call & someone would have to call me back. I scheduled a consultation at the Laser Aesthetic Center for the removal of a small tattoo on my wrist. The employee I spoke with (who I later learned was not experienced in tattoo removal and happened to be the owner's wife) provided me with information on the tattoo removal process and based on her evaluation of my tattoo, she gave me a quote of $150 to have it removed. I was pleasantly surprised with this quote and agreed to have the first treatment done in that same visit. The employee took me into another room where the laser was located and handed me over to a technician who was able to perform my first laser treatment. I'm in the medical field and I was surprised that I was not asked to sign any sort of consent form before I received treatment but I didn't think much of it because the facility seemed clean, the staff seemed friendly, and the price was unbeatable. After the treatment, the first employee who I spoke with asked if I was also interested in learning more about laser hair removal, which I agreed to. As she was informing me about the laser hair removal process, she began telling me about how much it costs. She informed me that underarm hair removal is around $90 per session. At that point, I realized that there may have been some miscommunication. I asked her for clarification about the pricing for tattoo removal and she told me tattoo removal is $150 PER SESSION. At that moment when we had both realized there was a huge miscommunication, the technician who did my treatment walked in asking me to sign a consent form for the procedure that had already been done. I refused to sign and explained that I was given false information and that it was very unprofessional to get written consent after the procedure had already been completed. The staff members were not apologetic and instead, were very defensive. I ended up leaving the office without having to pay for my treatment and I was told I would get a phone call to hopefully resolve the situation once the employee spoke with management. I received a phone call a day or two later and the employee apologized and said that the company would honor our agreement to remove my tattoo for $150. I had two more sessions and at my third session, the technician told me that I would have one more "free" session for a total of 4 sessions for $150. I was taken aback by this because my tattoo is still far from being removed. I expressed my concern with this and told her that I would have never had the first session done if I did not intend to get the entire tattoo removed. The response I received was, "You're getting three sessions for free, we never do this. The person who did your consultation was not experienced in tattoo removal." In fact, I did pay $150 to have my tattoo removed which is what was agreed upon and it is not my fault that this company has employees who are consulting customers about services that they do not have accurate information about. I have never been contacted by anyone in management to resolve this issue and I have a tattoo that is still very visible. I absolutely do not recommend this company. read more

Heard of laser hair removal but wanted more information. Met with Amy who discussed some items with me then had my first treatment that day. Had three treatments thus far and seems good as far as I'm aware. Amy is fast and gets to work. She makes sure to ask many times if you need a break. Amy is always on time. Think at most I had to wait maybe five minutes. From start to finish and back in my car takes about 20 mins which is great when I don't want to spend all day there. read more

I came here on recommendation of a friend - as I am very hesitant where I go for any procedure involving my body. I had never had laser before, but was tired of shaving/waxing. Everyone is very professional, knowledgeable, polite, and makes it truly a good experience. I noticed results right away -- which I was suprised about given my coarse dark hair and dark skin. I did not have any of the awful after effects that I'd heard about from laser hair removal (redness, itching, rashes, etc). I have about 6 months of treatments left - but I highly recommend going here. I will likely get additional treatments from them - very professional, clean, prices are good.
