I paid Ms. Alomair $90 plus a 20% tip ($108) for a haircut that resulted in a technically flawed, uneven "Christmas tree" shape. The hair flared out past my shoulders on both sides, and the layers on the right were significantly longer than those on the left. Our explicit agreement was for the same classic, conservative cut without a fringe, removing approximately 3 to 4 inches of length. As an attorney who routinely wears her hair up, maintaining a neat, manageable style is a strict professional necessity. I returned for a correction. Ms. Alomair refused to analyze the dry structure of her mistake, ignored the clear structural errors, and defensively stated she "didn't know I had any curl"--treating her own technical failure as my fault. After re-characterizing the shape as a "pyramid," she proceeded to cut my hair wet. She shockingly took another 4 inches off the length and repeated the exact same structural mistakes, leaving my hair completely uneven and severely compromised. During this second appointment, Ms. Alomair repeatedly insisted that I should wear bangs because it "would make me look younger." I finally agreed to a microscopic trim of less than 1/8 of an inch--just enough to appear as clean new growth. Instead, she deliberately stood between me and the mirror to obscure my view, completely disregarded my instructions, and cut a heavy, two-inch-deep horizontal fringe ending above my eyebrows while wet. When I questioned her, she claimed she would "lighten" it, but instead used texturizing shears to cut short, random side strands without discussion. When I stated that these pieces looked unkempt on a woman my age, she laughed and dismissively commented, "It's just hair, it'll grow." When I asked her to stop removing so much length, she was highly dismissive, stating "no one looks at length" and claiming I just wanted an "old-fashioned Jaclyn Smith haircut." She then applied a heavy, non-salon mousse that she brought from home, proudly showing me that she could blow-dry my short hair to stand straight up from my head to mask the underlying shape. She then charged me a second full fee for this failed correction. Upon brushing out the stiff styling products that evening and washing my hair the next morning, the full extent of the damage was revealed. The cut was a complete disaster: an asymmetrical triangle shape with a heavy, blunt chunk of a fringe, and side strands near my ears cut so short they could not even be tucked back. For the first time in 50 years, my hair is too short to be secured into a functional French twist. When I texted her explaining that the structural flaws remained and requested a full refund for both appointments, she completely ceased communication. She has since disregarded the formal bank disputes filed through USAA. Save your money, your time, and your hair--avoid this stylist entirely. Allie was truly amazing she spent so much of her time with me answering all of my questions even though I'm sure she had other clients but she really cares and you get that when chatting with her she also really helped me nail down my skin regimen and I cant find enough nice things to say about her and also Dr Maddox who also spent some time with me and really did a great job. Between them both they helped me really feel better and made a plan moving forward and I didn't get any sense of them being pushy they were very supportive, the treatments were great as well I felt like I left actually having my face worked on.
