Alert: If you work full time and have limited availability do not go to Laseraway! After having my appointments cancelled multiple times I had to update my review. I was really hoping I did not have to, because the treatments are effective, staff is in general friendly and try to help...BUT: It is so frustrating!! When we buy the treatments and PAY ALL UPFRONT they offer to schedule appointments in the future an one thinks that it is going to be a smooth process. The reality is different. Having an appointment scheduled does not mean anything. This past week I called the Burlingame office scheduled for 8/22, the next day I got a message informing that the appointment changed to another time (still the same day), I called them again to understand why, the agent offered to return to the original time scheduled. Got a phone call confirming the appointment - which I confirmed. For my surprise, the next day I got the long message (picture here) cancelling the appointment. I am seriously considering requesting a full refund of the thousands of dollars I paid upfront for the treatment. I am beyond frustrated as a long time client who was a five star reviewer and has watched and witnessed customer service disintegrate over the last 6 months . The nurses are wonderful The front desk people are very uneven- some are great, some are understandably defensive and one gentleman in particular is aggressive and admonishing. I have two packages for laser hair removal.This business has been caught at the AI technology crossroads, with generic text messages canceling appointments seen to be randomly autogenerated and an ineffective app that apparently allows users to "make appointments when no staff is available... so sorry we have to cancel/reschedule again" Live staff have committed to at least 5 appointments from April to mid July that were then canceled either right after being made, or often last minute) with some version of this text message "Hi, this is LaserAway San Carlos ( or Burlingame) clinic. It looks like you were booked when a clinician is not available and we will need to reschedue your appointment. . Please give us a call to reschedule " . I have also been asked to give scheduling parameters and told they would get back to me. My schedule is so wide open in Summer. They do get back to me, but not to schedule my appointments, to market and sell facials, botox etc. Umm, I cannot schedule the treatments that I have because you are grossly and by your own admission understaffed in terms of nurses. You overwork and burn out the one's that you have by scheduling them back to back, making clients wait until their appointment times are supposed to be over because you KNOW that you have to allow for downtime between appointments but are so overwhelmed by overselling that you cannot. Your front desk staff one gentleman in particular admonishes the clients if they are five minutes late for parking traffic, warning that your treatment will likely be incomplete/sub-par because of your lateness. They repeat in sing song voices "sorry your wait is so long. we are down to one nurse in this location so she/ he is scheduled back to back" In other words sell, upsell, get new bodies in the door,overcommit so that they cannot fulfill the appointments and commitments made, take 0 accountability, offer no recourse.. The customer is never right but they are appeased and pandered to but almost always left disappointed " we completely understand your frustration. One of our nurses is on maternity leave, but i can get you an appointment on Monday in our San Carlos location." Finally- thank you! Amazing " Alas, you know the cancellation text is forthcoming. Perhaps the act of offering an appointment was just a ruse, to get you off the phone... There is no recourse as you wait untreated, and your body and facial hair cycles through growth stages, rendering your previous treatments less and less effective. Value your nurses and your patients more than or at least as well as your sales and marketing brigade.You should understand that the timing of treatments is vital to results and efficacy of said treatments. STOP selling treatments that you cannot schedule or fulfill and prioritize the current clients/patients. Stop offering 80% off to new clients/patients and offer to refund or credit back to your loyal existing customers past appointments that have bern rendered less effective because you were unable to accommodate or schedule regular 6 week appointments. I work a school year schedule with special needs kids. My summer schedule is soooo relaxed and I have availability weekday and weekend mornings ,afternoons, evenings. I am willing to go to other locations. The fact that I have not been able to get in the door for an appointment this summer at all, does not bode well for fulfilling my significant investment. Please stop offering to sell me more services and have a manager schedule a phone call to get my existing appointments on a schedule that will be honored. Update- new site manager Emily called to acknowledge and make amends and was so accommodating and took accountability. I had been referred to LaserAway by a friend for tattoo removal, which I purchased 30 sessions of. Somewhere along the way, I reached out to a Kaiser dermatologist about my sunspots and she recommended Clear & Brilliant. Since I was already going to LaserAway for my tattoo removal, I decided to add C&B as well. (TBH my gut feeling told me not to because they are a chain...I learned the hard way.) I purchased a 6-pack and started the treatments. At my second appointment, the store manager talked me into adding Rejuran, so I purchased a 3-pack. The first session went fine, sessions 2-4 were also fine, with the Rejuran. (Albeit no real improvements visible) At the 5th session (Jan 15), she mentioned increasing the intensity, which I agreed to because I trusted her. Immediately after I left, I knew this session felt different. The burning sensation and redness lasted longer than before. Throughout the week, as the sandiness washed off (as usual), I noticed an orange/brown color to my skin creating an outline under my eyes (where she did not laser). Like raccoon eyes, but white. This did not go away over a few weeks. Now my skin looks like this. Multiple people have commented on my discoloration (at a spa for a facial and a beauty counter in Japan) and I have never felt more self conscious. My skin has never looked like this ever in my life. It will take a long time to fix and I am devastated . Please be warned. This place is fine for laser and hair removal. Do not trust them with your face. (No concealer or foundation in photo. Without fail, every single time they cancel my appointment the day before or the same day, and then the next available appointment is not until at least four weeks out. They tell you repeatedly that you need to get laser hair removal treatments every six weeks, but that is impossible because they are incapable of keeping appointments or even accommodating reasonable reschedules. I will not spend any more money here. If I need more treatments I'm going elsewhere. If you have the option to go with another provider, I recommend that you do. I started getting my tattoo removal appointments here back in September 2025 and have been consistently going since. (I'm getting my half sleeve done which always gets split into two sessions. Half one appointment then the other half 2 weeks after before waiting the usual 8 weeks to get my next session done. Plus my other smaller tattoo on my other arm). It started off really great, kind/ friendly staff that I'm really happy with but these past like 5-6ish appointments that I've had, 1 day before my appointment they're always calling to reschedule me because of staffing issues. I get it every so often but it's just gotten so ridiculously irritating to have an appointment coming up just for them to call me and tell me I need to reschedule. I had Thermage done at the Burlingame location and paid $1,200 for a single treatment. I am now over six months post-treatment and have not seen any measurable improvement. At my follow-up appointment, even staff indicated there were no noticeable results. Based on the before-and-after photos, there was no visible change. There was also inconsistency in guidance regarding numbing cream. Their paperwork stated not to apply any numbing cream, yet multiple staff members asked if I had applied it beforehand to minimize discomfort. Due to this conflicting information, I went through significant pain that could have been avoidable. When I attempted to address my concerns about the lack of results, I experienced multiple missed callbacks and was routed between offices. I ultimately escalated the matter to corporate and was informed that "rendered services are not refundable," without meaningful discussion of the lack of results or the communication issues. For a $1,200 treatment, I expected clearer expectations, better customer service, and some measurable outcome. My first time getting a hydrafacial and I decided to come to LaserAway for the treatment. Once I walked in, I was greeted by the ladies in the front desk. I checked in and sat down till the nurse was ready for me. The whole treatment only took 30 minutes and I was very comfortable. The process is very gentle and I almost fell asleep. My favorite part of the treatment is seeing all the gunk after. I wouldn't definitely recommend this to anyone that wants a clean and brightened face. read more

After moving, the closest LaserAway to me (over an hour away) doesn't even offer Thermage, so I asked to apply the remaining value toward another service. LaserAway now claims I have $0 value on my account because it was a BOGO despite the fact that I paid thousands of dollars. What's worse is the customer support. I've been passed from person to person, ignored, and told corporate would call me back "ASAP." That was over a month ago. Still nothing. I had a very disappointing experience at LaserAway. Before booking my Botox appointment, I specifically told the phone sales representative that I am extremely sensitive to pain and would need numbing cream. She told me that although they do not usually provide numbing for Botox, she would make a note of it for my appointment and had me purchase a $35 numbing service. When I arrived, I was told to wait an additional 45 minutes, which I accepted. I then reminded the front desk that I needed numbing cream before treatment. They checked my record and initially acknowledged that I had purchased the numbing service. However, after making a phone call to what sounded like a manager, I could literally hear someone in the background mocking the request and saying, "Come on, Botox doesn't need numbing." The front desk then told me they would not provide numbing cream after all, and would only refund the $35. I explained that other clinics have provided numbing for me before due to my pain sensitivity, but they responded coldly that they "don't know what other clinics do." At that point, I no longer felt comfortable receiving treatment there and requested a full refund. The issue is not whether Botox typically requires numbing. The issue is that: - a service was promised during booking, - I was charged for it, - I waited at the clinic, - and then the promise was suddenly reversed in a dismissive and unprofessional manner. No apology for the delay. No apology for the misinformation. No professionalism whatsoever. For a cosmetic medical business, empathy and professionalism matter. If I could give them zero stars, I would!!! I purchased a lip plus "free chin" package for my 15 year old daughter. I specifically asked the woman helping me if there were any age restrictions and she very clearly said no. The only requirement is you have to be 18 to get a Brazilian which my daughter was not doing so didn't impact her. I mentioned my daughter doesn't need chin laser and the same woman said we could de-couple the two services (lip and chin) and come back at any time for life to any LaserAway location. I scheduled an appt for the next day for my daughter to start her services. I get there and was told no laser work can be done on anyone under the age of 16. Also, I could not de-couple the 2 services and if I didn't want chin hair removal at the time of lip service, the price would still be the same ($1,200)!!! The same day I inquired about the services I signed up for zero % financing which I was approved for. Now I also have to cancel that even though my credit was run which probably lower my score slightly. I asked for some type of comp and the guy helping me basically said there's nothing they can do even though I was given all the wrong info by their employee! So frustrating!! Don't go to LaserAway in Burlingame. They don't know what they're talking about and none of the info provided was accurate. This is, without a doubt, the worst company I've ever dealt with, and my experience has been nothing short of infuriating. I purchased a package of Hydrofacials, and not a single one of my appointments was on time. I've written multiple reviews on this matter, but nothing has changed. They offer nothing but empty apologies and lip service, with zero real solutions. My latest experience was the final straw. I had a confirmed 4:30 pm facial appointment today. I showed up on time, only to be told they had canceled my appointment via a text message sent around 1:30 pm. When I asked why they hadn't called me to confirm I received the message, they suddenly claimed they "called and left a voicemail" -- which, of course, I never received. At this point, they've offered a refund for the remaining facials in my package. Honestly, if they actually follow through, it will be a huge relief. I've been going to LaserAway for about over a year now and my last two experiences were very disappointing. My appointment was rescheduled due to an error on laseraways end and they cannot accommodate me until a month and a half out. Come a month and a half out later I was rescheduled incorrectly for a 1230 and a 145 appointment when I was only supposed to be scheduled for the 1230 when I spoke to the person who is supposedly the customer director she did not try to help me, she told me that my appointment was scheduled by somebody else that she didn't know who it was not someone on her team. She said I could either come in at 1:45 or if I come in at 12:30 I would have to wait an hour in between my appointments because my sessions were gonna be cut in half. I can't make it in at 1:45. I'm working Mom. I already took time off to be able to be there at 12:30. She was so condescending. She was rude and not helpful. She told me that she would not change anyone else else's appointment that these are my only two options she said the other people are pre-booked appointments . I asked her if I was not a pre-booked appointment? She told me she would not accommodate me and did not even try to help me find a different option. It was very upsetting and frustrating. When I asked to speak to somebody else. She said that she was basically the highest that could go, but there was nobody above her as far as customer service goes. It's very frustrating. This place is the absolute worst and treats clients like they are worthless. The technician was 25 minutes late. No apology, no phone call, no notice whatsoever, no offer of rescheduling, nothing. In fact when expressing my frustration to the guy at the front desk he even tried to the say my appointment was later, which I then showed him the text confirmation in writing from Laser Away themselves of my exact time and he had nothing else to say after. Finally after the technician was ready for me she leaves for me almost another 10 minutes to change knowing she was late and knowing I had to be somewhere right after. Still, no apology whatsoever even after telling her I have an 8 month old I have to coordinate care with and had someone to be right after this. We did not get to finish several spots I had booked to laser. I tried reaching out to a manager afterward and was told Burlingame actually has no manager right now that I'd be forwarded to corporate. Here is where it only got worse. Someone named Katrina said it was my fault for walking into the treatment room, that I forfeited all of my treatments use then, when I specifically said to the technician let's see how much we can get done with the time left. Katrina was completely unsympathetic, rude, and probably one of the worst customer service type people I've ever spoken with. She kept gaslighting me and saying I should have refused treatment or rescheduled (when they were extremely running late) and refused to offer any solutions, refused to cancel my future treatments in the packages I purchased. She also said that since Laser Away is considered a "medical facility" they can start treatment time whenever they want and clients have to just be ready when they are. She made it clear Laser Away has zero respect or even consideration for their client's time or them at all it appears. I asked to talk to someone above her or anyone else and even she refused to connect me to anyone else and said she was the highest person there. So apparently she thinks she owns all of Laser Away. After going here for over 7 years spending thousands upon thousands of dollars they treat you like complete crap. I highly recommend avoiding this place at all costs. My favorite place to go for Botox. They are so respectful and informative. By respectful I mean they don't blow up your phone incessantly. Great service and they don't try and upsell. I'm extremely disappointed with my experience at LaserAway Burlingame and feel compelled to share in hopes of protecting others. After multiple sessions, I consistently broke out in painful hives--something I reported every time. Despite this, the team continued to use the same laser settings, causing increasingly severe reactions. I finally called to say I no longer felt safe continuing treatment and was told by two separate team members that I would be issued a refund. No one followed up. When I called back, I was met with a shockingly rude response from a male representative who told me I would receive nothing. He dismissed my concerns and sarcastically suggested I "transfer my sessions to a family member." When I tried to explain that this reaction made it unsafe for anyone, he told me it was "late in NYC" and he didn't want to spend his night dealing with me. I've never experienced customer service this unprofessional or insensitive--especially after a medical-grade treatment resulted in visible and painful skin reactions (which I documented and shared). I now feel unsafe using the services I've paid for, was promised a refund I didn't receive, and am being told I have to continue paying for sessions I can't and won't use. As I waited for my appointment I could overhear an explicit convo between one of the women up front and another woman who I later learned was the manager. When I tried to check in again because I was trying to fit the appt into an already busy day, the manager was snarky and walked away while the other woman apologized and said she was checking in with her manager (that was not a check in or work appropriate convo, at least not within range of a client). I had already done 8 sessions so I am fairly familiar with the process. Liliana was the only RN so far that recommended something called the "full original treatment" for me to get maximum results. I had a terrible experience and will never schedule with this place again. I arrived early for my appointment and was "greeted" by two front desk assistants who were rude and dismissive. Despite being early, I wasn't seen until my scheduled time--and even then, I was left waiting well after. It felt very intentional and incredibly unprofessional. While I waited, I overheard the front desk staff gossiping about me and other clients completely unacceptable behavior. Once I was finally called back for the numbing process, I was never taken to a private room. Instead, I was made to sit in an open area near the restroom, where I could hear and smell everything absolutely disgusting and unsanitary. They left me sitting there for over an hour with the numbing cream on. As I looked at my lips during that time, I realized how misleading their practices are. They apply a large amount of numbing cream to puff up your lips, giving a false impression of fuller results even before the injection. It feels like a scam to get clients to think the treatment is more effective than it really is. Between the unprofessional staff, long wait times, lack of privacy, and questionable practices, I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. read more

I'm gonna save you the trouble of going in and finding out pricing of the Brazilian laser. I went all the way over here because my friend had gotten a black Friday deal here before - they boast all over the internet that you can save up to 75% on waxing services. What they don't tell you is that it's only for small parts like armpits. You only get 15% off for "large parts" and even with the discount, it's over $2k for a Brazilian for 8 sessions and they don't guarantee that they'll get all the hair. Their black Friday prices have shot up 300% in 5 years. I called around to other places and the prices aren't even comparable. Nine sessions at other places are $1500. This place is straight up a scam. They get your phone number and call and email incessantly to get you in. Their other services might be worth it and i can't speak to that, but the prices will keep me from going here. read more

They obviously have issues with scheduling but will gladly take your money ahead of time and not issue a refund when it is apparent they cannot offer the service you want. I have purchase full LHR treatments few months ago and had three visits made so far. All my appointments made 8am very first appoitment in the morning so that I can head to work on time right after. But all those 3 visits I was late to work because no staffs came to their work on time. First visit no one came in on time to open up the business. This guy who cleans the business opened up the door for me and waited 20mins to get my treatment started. Second visit They had a double booking. So they took the other customer who is doing under arm first since I'm doing full service however, I made my appointment 6 weeks in advance. They took me in at 8:30. 30mins passed my appointment time. Third visit. Again staff was running late so I had to wait another 20mins before the treatment started. Also it's meter parking so I have to feed the meters for extra. Also no one does same exact job while I'm on LHR service. Some do use alcohol wipe to clean up the area before treatment starts and unlike their advertisement no one draw line with a chalk on underarms. It's just very roughly done. There are many more other skincare places around. I would recommend to do enough research before you purchase your services. LHR treatment will be the same no matter where you go however you will get better service elsewhere. Not saying this because they're late to my services all the time. The job they do is also below average. All of them needs to get retrained. First thing first coming to their WORK ON TIME!! P.S One of the staff told me they are not allow to clock in till 8am. Complete waste of money and time. I was told when i applied for a credit line, that if I was unhappy with results (which I am) that I would be able to put that money towards a different service. COOL SCULPTING IS A SCAM. Absolutely no results whatsoever. This is also confirmed by a friend whose mother does the procedure. I am pissed off. I just called to get a refund or get another treatment and the receptionist was rude, cold and said "if you feel you were told something about transferring treatments..." I made an appointment i had to cancel i made no payment but now alphaeon is calling me for payment on services i never had done. and the sales rep told me to i can get store credit. like how do u get off this payment plan. i cant even get services dont anymore because i have health issues that are worse and to top it off i DO NOT WANT STORE CREDIT i just want to be taken off a payment plan! this is really horrible that you lock people in like this MY HEALTH COMES FIRST! read more

I've been going to this location for over a year now and I must say I am always happy and pleased with my experience. Huge shoutout to Noza! Every time I come in, she always has a smile on her face when she greets me. Today was the conclusion of my initial laser package, so I asked Noza about the pricing of purchasing additional sessions for my maintenance and she helped me take advantage of the current promotions not only for my maintenance but also for additional treatments that I've always been thinking about getting. A friend referred me and here is my experience-Ive had 3 treatments of laser hair removal so far. Started with an awesome consultation with Emme C. who took the time to answer all my questions before committing to any commitment. Super patient, friendly and helped me pick a package that made sense for what I needed. Natasha at the front desk is just as great. Check in with ease. Personable, helpful, friendly and offers to answer questions. This really stood out because I have been to other med spa type places where I have felt judged by the front desk. And for my treatments Nurse Elise is my girl! I mean I am sure they are all awesome but if there was a way to choose who does my treatment every time she would be my pick. She is tolerant of my horrible act of bravery every time i lay on the bed. She talks through the steps and constantly checks if i am ok until we are done. Thanks LA! read more

I've been to this location of LaserAway multiple times. They do not honor appointment times. They set up appointments and then make you wait long periods of time. On two separate occasions I've had to wait over 30 mins. Today, I came in for a 30 min treatment and I had to wait 27 mins before it started! From one of the employees, I heard that they are a smaller clinic than other locations and tend to double book their nurses. Highly questionable business practices. To top it off, they will not apologize or empathize, they will say "we are a medical facility. It's like waiting at a doctor's office for you appointment". When asked for a refund, they said they would not refund any "laser points" used. The director, Linda, was particularly unempathtic. read more

Stopping in to give Janelle a 5-star review, but by way of being honest, giving Laser Away a 4-star overall review. First: JANELLE WAS AMAZING. 6 stars. I had an appointment with her today to laser my underarms and after a terrible / painful experience with my last treatment, she was a dream. She helped me feel comfortable, gave me ice to pre-numb the area, and communicated with me throughout the treatment so I knew what to expect. I felt nearly no pain throughout the treatment, but mostly, I felt she was looking out for me. Overall, I give Laser Away 4 stars. I've had mixed experiences and mixed results. I did Brazilian laser at their SF location in the Marina, and while the treatments were great and the nurses were great, I had pretty much full re-growth afterwards and felt I had spent a lot of money for not much result. When they ran a Thanksgiving sale, I caved and bought treatments for my underarms, having heard from various folks who didn't have good luck with the Brazilian that they got better results for their underarms. Had I not hit the huge sale, I wouldn't have been ok spending more money on something that hadn't worked for me, but the price made it worth it. I've been doing all of these treatments at the Burlingame location. My first treatment was fine - very little pain, nice nurse, kinda consistent experience to what I got in San Francisco. My second treatment was awful. I went in, they did a test spot, and it was the most painful thing I had ever experienced. Two more test spots later and I was literally in tears and had to delay the treatment (to Janelle, who was amazing today). Between that and the Brazilian treatment not working, I have lukewarm feelings overall, but I'm going to finish out my underarm treatments (if they don't hurt again) and hope for the best. read more
