I initially joined during a promotional period last October and didn't realize I had signed up for a recurring monthly membership. Since then, I've been charged $250 every month, totaling $1,750, while only coming in three times for services. Like many people, work picked up and I stopped scheduling appointments. What's frustrating is that there was no follow-up, reminder, or outreach while the monthly charges continued. I take responsibility for not catching it sooner, but it's still disappointing how easy it is for costs to add up without any engagement from the business. I've also made multiple attempts to contact them without success, and their phone system is not helpful. I'll now have to go in person to resolve this and have already disputed the charges with my bank. If you're considering a membership, please keep this in mind. read more

I've been coming to Skin Laundry for a few months now and wanted to wait a bit before writing my review. I tried Skin Laundry in HK and really enjoyed how quick and easy it was. There's no downtime with the signature laser facial and you're in and out within 15 minutes! So far I've only done the signature but I do want to try the resurfacing. That one has a downtime of 3 days so I've been waiting for a time when I don't have to go into the office or put on makeup for a bit. Parking may be a bit hard during peak hours but I try to come during off hours when it's not as busy. Everyone has always been super pleasant and I will definitely keep coming back! read more

The check-in process was smooth and the staff was punctual. I filled out an initial health screening form and they took photos of my face and had them cleared by an RN quickly, which I appreciated. However, the consultation felt more like a sales pitch than a skin assessment. The representative immediately pushed a monthly package without really listening to my concerns about hyperpigmentation. She was very blunt, telling me the first laser treatment would do 'nothing' for my skin and was just a test. While I value the honesty, the approach felt dismissive--especially after I told her I'd had lasers before and didn't have the schedule for bi-weekly visits. She even asked if I still wanted to follow through since it 'wouldn't be worth it' for me. Takeaway: If you're looking for a one-time boost, this isn't it. You need to be prepared to spend a lot of money on a long-term package and visit every 2 weeks to see any results. read more

I'm pretty disappointed with my experience at Skin Laundry, and I want to be clear--this isn't about the employees at the location I visited. The issue lies with the company's business model. Requiring customers to commit to four months at $150/month--even if they're unhappy with the service, see no results, or simply don't want to continue--is unreasonable. Forcing customers to keep paying for something they no longer want or value is a terrible customer experience. This message is directed at the CEO: it's time to seriously rethink this model and allow people to cancel if they're not satisfied. Secondly, once it was clear I was planning to cancel, the quality of service drastically declined. My last appointment felt rushed and indifferent--clearly because the staff knew I wasn't going to buy more. That leads me to my third point: the pressure to upsell at this location was relentless. From the start, I was constantly being pushed to purchase more services or products. If someone wants to upgrade, they will ask--there's no need for aggressive sales tactics. If your business depends on upselling to meet commission goals, maybe reconsider your compensation structure. Pay your staff better, and perhaps reduce what's going into the CEO's pocket. A weird place. I echo some of the other negative reviews. After receiving a text that my appointment was canceled, I assumed they were closed for the day (perhaps, I thought, due to an unexpected staff meeting). When dropping off my dry cleaning at a nearby establishment, I saw, however, that they were actually open. I went in to Skin Laundry and inquired as to why my appointment was cancelled. I was told by the blond woman with glasses (as mentioned in another review) that the aesthetician was not there for the day. I thanked her and left. When I then later attempted to set another appointment online, it was again cancelled by text, and again with no explanation. When I returned to personally reschedule, since my online attempts were failing, I was told that I had been "aggressive" when I made my previous in-person inquiry, and had also "sworn" at the receptionist (the blond). To say I was shocked at this assertion, is an understatement. First, as a clergy person who has, for over 28 years, works with those who are ill, dying, and grief, I never swear, let alone am I in the least aggressive. Second, as a veteran USAF officer (who attended the AF Academy), this was not a matter which would, for me, come even close to inciting the reaction they attributed to me. Simply put, what they described would not appear on any list of adjectives one would ascribe to me or to my behaviour. I noticed they had a video camera above the front desk and asked the manager to please review the video for the relevant date and time. She said their camera was not sound equipped. For someone in my position and with my experience, such statements are not only slanderous, but shocking. I felt I had stepped into some form of the Twilight Zone combined with something Orwellian. read more

I've been eagerly awaiting the opening of this location. I was wandering about the area a few months ago and noticed the signage for the building (official opening date was 11/10). For first timers, you get the signature facial for half off ($75 instead of $150). The ambiance inside is bright, airy, and minimalistic. Once you're checked in, you are asked to clean your face and then led into another waiting area. You then fill out a short questionnaire about skin concerns/target areas and your daily skincare routine. The specialist reviews it with you and comes up with a treatment plan. If you write a review and show it to staff, you get a free sheet mask! Final thoughts: I do think it's strange the front desk prompts you for a tip at the end of the treatment when you're checking out. I think of this as a medspa and I was treated by a NP for my first session. I work in healthcare and don't solicit tips for my profession... so this aspect personally rubs me the wrong way. read more
