tl;dr keep meticulous records of your appointments and call ahead to confirm. Doesn't matter the location (I've tried Union Square, the Castro, and the Marina) - this business will make mistakes and your pocketbook and results will suffer. 60% of my interactions with LaserAway are incorrect: Scheduling mistakes, over-counting how many sessions I've had and trying to charge me for new packages, and not doing a thorough job at appointments. I've learned to call ahead to confirm my appointments a) are still on the calendar and b) include the full treatments I've purchased. The last straw for me today was when I called to confirm my upcoming appointment and they told me I had run out of sessions for certain parts of my body. That didn't seem right, so I went into my doc where I keep a record of all treatments, and sure enough, I still had one left. When I asked them to triple check, THEY FOUND THE SAME. After this final appointment I am changing providers. I've spent thousands of dollars and I've had enough of the errors and fleecing. read more

The nurses are friendly and the laser hair removal treatments have been effective, but whenever I have appointments in the afternoon they almost always run late, which isn't great if/when I need to get back to work. One time I showed up for my appointment for the confirmed time and no one was even there. I called and they told me to wait (generic LaserAway number, not for this specific office - no one was at the desk anyway). I waited 20 min after the start time and no one even apologized when they finally arrived. When I left, I verbally confirmed 11am for next appointment time - when I received the email confirmation later, it was for 12 noon. I have finished all my remaining treatments/packages and have been happy with the the results so far, but I'm thinking twice before returning for any touch-up appointments if the appointment times and changes are unpredictable. read more

Gabrielle at the front desk helped me find just the right treatment, it's called IPL. She explained everything and was so positive and helpful to assist with the financing process. When I met my clinician, Jessica I felt welcomed and assured. Jessica took the time to ask me how the wavelength levels were feeling during my IPL session and this made all the difference because we were able to adjust wavelengths to get the most benefit from the treatment(no pain no gain). I had an appt today at Sutter at 11:30am for a session for tattoo removal. This is now the 3rd or 4th time where I show up on time to the appt and unbeknownst to me the appt time was switched to 11:45am . I approached the front desk and spoke to someone by the name of Bria or Bri. She let me know my appt was scheduled for 11:45 however I had confirmation for an 11:30 time. She made me very uncomfortable by not acknowledging the fact the time was switched and made me seem like I was the issue for coming in so early. I will no longer be returning to this location customer service here is horrible and apparently they don't care about your schedule or to notify you if the appt has been changed, but will gladly charge a $50 fee for missing the appt? Can't wait to be done with my sessions so I no longer have to deal with this company who is so careless . read more

Went for laser hair removal for lips and chin. Overall is a good experience but on the pricey side. One of their agents called me to ask about my needs and told me their 10 session plan, which after discount is ~$900. Without any other comparison, I bought the plan, only later knowing that I could get shorter plans at much cheaper prices ~$60 per session elsewhere. With priciness on the side, their service was pretty good - rescheduling is easy, and service at the facility was also professional. I've been going here for a year or two and the service is on a steady decline. Everyone is really nice but they clearly overbook and at least twice they've called me 15 min before my appointment time to push, reschedule or cancel which is inconvenient. Then they never follow up so you better book your own treatments and be prepared for massive sales pitches. The nurses do an ok job but constantly seem rushed which makes me nervous when they're doing stuff to your face. I booked filler with a specific nurse then they switched on me day of and didn't tell me. Once you buy a "bank" or series of treatments they don't care. Do yourself a favor and don't believe the hype. Go to a local spot for consistency and nurses that can take their time and listen to you. I've been coming here for years and have done different treatments. Unfortunately you can't pick what nurse gets to help you since I do have my favorites but I do trust them it's just that everyone kind of has their own methods. I love their sale packages so if you're interested I would wait for those usually in the summer or end of year. I did have an incident most recently where they canceled my appointment 8min before my time. I called right away and complained because I had just paid for parking. They told me they had called and texted the day before to confirm my appointment (which they did not) so they canceled my appointment. They said to come in and see if they could squeeze me but that also didn't work out. They instead rescheduled my appointment and scheduled me a free facial for another date. This is the first time this happened but I do admire them handling the situation well. But oddly enough they didn't call/text to confirm when my new apt came up. read more

I will be staying away from this place. I just called them to ask for the price of the IPL treatment and it took me more than 15 min to find out the actual price. They were asking me for my personal information such as my name, and location, have I had been there before, if I have done the treatment before, they put me on hold with very loud commercials for other procedures... instead of giving me the answer about the price. so during this experience, I imagine if I was their client, and how it would be stressful to get in contact with them. Came in on Saturday for my face + full legs laser appointment. The nurses here seem nice, but today felt rushed. I only had lower legs done too when I'm supposed to have full leg treatment. The nurse suggested I ask front desk, which I did afterwards, and was informed this is my last leg treatment before I begin my additional full leg maintenance. Front desk also offered if I wanted to do my upper leg after today's treatment so I got confused. Don't get me wrong, I think front desk was doing their best because they seem like nice people. But how the sessions were recorded could be sketchy. Now that I checked my calendar I could see I have never previously did half leg sessions before, so I should still be owed the other half of the leg... Maybe it's a busy day so only half could be done? I'm not sure but I'll bring it up to my next appointment. They completely burned my neck and face. I had a lazer away sales associate set me up for full face and Brazilian lazer hair removal. They ended up burning my face, neck and vagina (pic of face and neck attached). I went to them in person to ask for a refund for the session I got burned and the remaining sessions. Apparently the sales associate that signed me up made an error and only charged me for "lip and chin" despite her telling me I got charged for full face including neck. They said that therefore I wouldn't get a refund - that I would actually end up owing them thousands of dollars for reporting that they burned me because their sales associate made an error. Getting burned was one thing but how poor their customer service is and how the sales rep at union (Daisy) was smirking when I asked for a refund and she realized there was a payment error has truly been traumatic.
