This place deserves negative ratings!!!!!! HORRIBLE experience and would highly recommend people avoid using their services if you don't want to get scammed or effect your credit. I never write negative reviews but I want to warn people how awful they are! I originally reached out to get information about cool sculpting services. I believe I was working with "Danielle". This person called me daily harassing me to jump on the "deal". I finally gave in and entertained her.We had to facetime "to confirm I was a candidate". She was SOOO unprofessional calling me "babe", "gurl" and acting like we were friends? She then sent me photo of her before and after cool sculpting. Convincing me we had the same body and this will work wonders for me. I had done a-lot of research on cool sculpting and knew I wanted to do it. Although, I was annoyed by the sales person I decided to move forward since the price was right. $3400. She booked me an appointment and told me i had to pay using Ally. Before I knew it I was getting my credit pulled from Ally and signing a payment plan. The whole thing felt rushed and unsettling. I had a bad feeling but couldn't back out at that point. Day of appointment I show up to SF union square location where "Danielle" had booked me. Receptionist wasn't the friendliest but I didn't think much about it. I went into the room where I had to undress and wait for the nurses. The nurse comes in with her assistant and took a bunch of photos of me. Afterwards she looks at me and says " Im going to be honest with you I dont think you're a candidate for this treatment. im really not sure why they booked you just looking at your height/weight and its pretty clear. I recommend you dont do this it will be a waste of money". I was embarrassed and annoyed I had cleared my calendar for 3 hours, paid for parking and financially prepared to pay for this expensive service. However, I was beyond grateful she was honest with me. The nurse was the only professional person I dealt with! SOO sweet and honest. She told me she would talk to the receptionist to get me a full refund. I go out to the receptionist after experiencing a very embarrassing experience and she's super inconsiderate and loud discussing my body type etc. She said i needed to work with my rep "Danielle" for the refund but that it wouldn't be an issue. I told her I wasn't comfortable working with her anymore. I'd prefer woking with a manager. (I had explained how unprofessional Danielle was). She said no problem that the GM would call me Friday, 2/12.... Its 2/26 and I still havent received that call. I've called every few days to follow up and have been unable to reach anyone. I finally got a call back from Laser away corporate on 2/16. They told me they would work on this refund and try to contact the GM to get to the bottom of this.... Today I receive a bill from Ally for $3400. I called them and told them that I don't owe anything since I didn't receive service. They have nothing on their records that I didn't receive service or that I was owed a refund. Oh and now I'm incurring interest on the $3400! This place is a scam. I will fight for my refund but you should avoid this headache and hours of inconvenience. Go somewhere that cares about customer service and is professional even if you have to pay more. Attention to the store GM or laser away Corporate if you are seeing this by law you owe me a refund. This is not how you treat customers or how you should run a business! read more

This was my first time coming to Laser Away and WOW can I say that this was the such an amazing experience from start to finish. I was tired of looking at how broken my facial skin is and I finally decided to make the jump. I walked in to inquire about Botox and Mary was the first to greet me with a warm welcome. I am a numbers person and that being said she was so gracious to write down the different packages (banks) were vs. if I were to just get an allotment of CC's. After we chose to do x amounts, we immediately scheduled an appointment for the next day since same days appointments are hard to come by now-a-days. Lucky me, I get a call later that day saying that there was an opening and sure enough I came back to get my procedure done! Mary - you are literally the best when it comes to customer service. We need more people like you... especially in crazy town San Francisco. Shelley was the nurse who treated me for Botox and I can say that I will forever be going to her.. for everything! Her care was so gentle and she asked all the right questions before doing the procedure. I am deathly afraid of needles (I know in SF right) but she made the whole process feel so easy breezy! Her easy going and professional personality is what makes you want to go to her for any type of procedure. Her knowledge in this space is impeccable. You can ask all the questions and she'll have all the answers. Both Mary and Shelley then told me the "Do's" and the "Dont's" after the procedure. This is was the first night that I haven't had a glass of wine because of the after procedure requirements and it was well worth it. Had the pleasure of being taken care of by Nurse Jenelle. We did laser hair removal on half leg, underarms, and Brazilian. It was my first time doing laser and Nurse Jenelle was very kind, encouraging, and explained everything clearly. She was super fast (didn't think it would be really quick) and I was in and out and back to my normal day. The pain was nearly non-existent (just a few instances where I felt a light pinch but otherwise felt nothing). No irritation or pain afterwards. Had a really bad experience here last night, so will definitely not be coming back to this location. This was my fifth Clear and Brilliant laser treatment. I usually go to the Marina location, and will do so going forward. I've never had to stop the laser at any point during my treatments, but it was very hard to suffer through last night's treatment. Had to stop often. I left in tears. I'm not sure if they didn't give me enough numbing cream or didn't let it sit long enough, but it was incredibly painful. They turned the laser power down, which I've never had to do, so I'm worried I won't even get as good an effect. I've done lasers elsewhere, laser tattoo removals, etc, so it's not like I'm particularly delicate. I still have a few treatments left, but may look at other spas to renew a package. The Marina location on Union has been good. read more

I love LaserAway! Everyone has been friendly, communicative, and helpful throughout any procedures Ive had. Recently I saw Janelle for laser hair removal, and she made sure I was comfortable and had a way to distract myself when some spots were a little tough to sit through (though its still worth it, in my opinion). Janelle gave me ice packs, a stress ball, and helped relieve any pain I experienced throughout laser hair removal on my legs and underarms. Legs can be brutal in some spots, but she helped me get through it with a couple tricks up her sleeve. Highly recommend! read more

After 10 laser sessions my tattoo isn't faded and is still totally visible. I was told that old, black ink on light skin was the ideal setting for laser tattoo removal, however, even 10 laser sessions did not achieve significant fading and the tattoo is still visible. read more

Came here to get my underarms lasered! The person who took care of me was super friendly and kind -- she helped me get through the entire process and made me feel comfortable and not nervous. I've got a LOT of hair, so it was pretty painful in the middle-ish. But it was bearable! I got the Groupon for 3 sessions and they honored it! After around 2 weeks after my first session, most of my hair has fallen out. I know I'll need more than 3 sessions for all my hair to be gone, but it's nice to have a 3 times trial at this place. Their website is well designed and easy to follow, and their facilities are clean and aesthetic. Everything went smoothly, from signing up for an online consultation to setting up an appointment. Once they have your money they could care less about you was my first experience and my only one as I won't go back after how I was treated.. They also will push you to purchase packages and will do whatever it takes to get you to pay first, they won't even offer you a date on their schedule until you have paid them which is something I have never heard of or experienced in the beauty industry. . . Expensive and ineffective treatments. I would have gladly paid the amount and considered it an investment if the treatments work. I went to the appointments regularly and was extremely judicious about sunscreen. $1K+ and 6 IPL sessions later, there was no noticeable before and after differences at all. I provided that feedback throughout my treatments and my feedback was disregarded. I know they had wasted session over session calibrating the proper settings instead of actually treating my dark spots. I have ethnic skin and know that the skin tone setting on the machine was set too dark which is why the pigment wasn't getting picked up by the machine. I wasn't supposed to know, but I know because I was told. After my last session, I chatted with customer care to express my disappointment and see if there was anything that could be done. The conversation was even more of a let down than the treatments. The chat was an endless circular chat to explain that there was nothing that could be done. The no refund policy is understandable but to not extend anything at all like extra sessions for the lack of results and make no attempts to address the concerns of dissatisfied customers is unacceptable for an institution that prides itself on the services rendered. On the contrary, consumer care said I could purchase more sessions. Why would anyone spend even more money on incompetent treatments? I would not recommend this service to anyone at all. There are no guarantees on results and protection for customers. LaserAway just wants to take your money and has no regards for customer satisfaction and results. read more

They have contract workers sign you up and don't fully explain payments. Ended up paying more than what I was initially supposed to. I tried calling both LaserAway and third party billing service and they both pin it on the other saying you'll have to talk to the other to clear up - very frustrating! As for the actual service, the hair removal helped some areas but they tend to just use one setting for every surface it seemed like which caused more improvements in one area vs another. Yup! That's how it is. 4- They refuse to give your medical record, as it is "against their policy to share it with the patient". Yup, you read it correctly. They will ask the "corporate" to contact you about that. # Story: I went to Laseraway last year when I purchased my 3 sessions on Groupon. Dealing with the staff was not a really pleasant experience, as far as I can remember. Now I am in the market to go to laser hair removal again, and not to my surprise, it's the same. :( All they care about is selling you a package. Multiple LaserAway staff reached out to me via text when I wanted to buy something: - "You want the full package to enjoy the results", or - "our machine is the best in the market!". Pretty good marketing skills I should say. I did my research, and I figured there are Nd:YAG and Alexandrite lasers available. When I asked them which laser I received, I got wrong answer. One person said "You are going to be treated with Nd:YAG for laser hair removal, since that's the technology we have" and another person said "No. I am not sure who told you that, because Nd:YAG is only for tattoo removal. We don't even use it for laser hair removal". Yes, you read it right! They don't know what they are talking about. So, I asked for the manager to get her words on this. Of course, this was not easy. I had to call couple of times, when the other staff stopped responding to me (they were texting me to sell me stuff). Finally, I had to change my number to reach them... Finally, when I got in contact with the manager, I figured why other reviewers were so right about this place... No one knows what is going on.... even the manager told me "Yeah we have all the laser technologies", while she was not sure what they are called. When I asked which one is used for laser hair removal, she said "Hmm... I am not sure about that, but I can assure you we are the best in the market" So, as you may guess, I insisted on knowing which laser hair removal technique was used for me, and she said "Hold on.. Let me check something". And after 1 minute on hold, she confirmed that I was treated with Nd: YAG! (btw, I am a while skin color with dark hair, and almost everyone agrees, that Alexandrite is a better choice) Also, I asked to access my information to see which laser technology and the setting is used: 1- They refused to tell me which laser technology was used on me, and refused to release my medical history (asked me to wait until "corporate" reaches out to me, since it is "against their policy to share it with the patient") 2- refused to give me "corporate" phone number, and they said "they have no reach out to you. That's our policy." Corporate has reached out to me and asked that I need to pay $10 to get my personal health information. So overall, I recommend checking other places. My first experience getting laser hair removal left me coming back for more! I was initially skeptical and nervous about the pain so I started with the upper lip and underarms. It was completely tolerable so I went in and did Brazilian and face next. The nurses who helped me both times were attentive and careful. I saw Jenelle for my first ipl treatment. I have dark spots/sun damage on my face that I'm trying to get rid of or at least lighten. She was super sweet and answered all my questions. She made me feel comfortable regarding the procedure and walked me through everything prior to doing it.
