Constant miscommunication in regards to making an appointment. I cannot count the number of times someone has messed up the time, date, or area in which my appointment was supposed to be. The people are quite rude and are quick to come up with excuses for doing something wrong instead of apologizing. There have been times when I have wounded myself and asked the people to skip over the area to prevent further damage, but the nurses either forget or ignore that request and laser over that, causing additional bleeding. My experience with laser away was excellent! From the moment I walked in to the door to when I left I felt completely satisfied and happy! I've had bad experiences in the past with tattoo laser removal and it was the most painful thing I've ever experienced and traumatizing! It took two people to hold me down and I still could not even handle the pain! I was screaming stop! stop! stop! and they never did stop! My experience at laser away was the complete opposite. From the minute I walked in the door Esmeralda was right there at my service! As she juggled phone calls and other patients she still never made me feel less important! Not only was she very thorough in explaining the process and the contract she was very compassionate about what I had experienced in the past! She assured me it would not be that way at laser away and she was right! The next Appointment was for the actual laser procedure and that's when I met Chiara! She probably could sense my nervousness from the start! She was so compassionate and helped me with the numbing cream and gave me some ice while I waited. She explained I was in great hands and said Denise is really great. She wasn't kidding Denise was incredible! She took her time she was gentle and allowed breaks as needed! I've been coming to LaserAway for almost three years for tattoo removal and unfortunately I'm disappointed with the results and service. I had been debating removing an old tattoo for several years, and my sister who has had such positive results with LaserAway and has been a customer of this location for years, recommended that I try LaserAway. I couldn't find any prices online so I headed in to this location. When I walked in, the receptionist gave me a quote and told me how many sessions I should purchase (12). Looking back on it, it was odd that a nurse didn't quote the amount of sessions needed. She said if I signed up she'd give me 12 sessions for $360. This is a good deal and she said normally it costs a few hundred more (but also keep in mind that my tattoo is very small and takes about 30 seconds max to laser each session). When I said "what if I need more than 12 sessions?" she said that if I needed more to more fully remove the tattoo that they would honor the same per session price but she thinks that 12 would do the trick since it was black ink and old. I asked the same question to a nurse a few sessions ago as I was nearing the end and concerned if 12 would be enough, and she also told me that additional sessions would be the same price if not cheaper. Fast forward almost 3 years and 13 sessions later (I was comped one because it wasn't effective) and I'm quite frustrated by my experience. My tattoo has faded a lot but it's still very noticeable. I understand that everyone's body reacts differently and they can't guarantee it will go away. But I do question the consistency amongst sessions. I've been paying attention to the strength and it doesn't seem like it's been getting stronger the last several sessions (which I was told by a nurse that it should). I had one session comped because the nurse wasn't very thorough. I had no reaction. I had other sessions where I barely reacted. When I complained about the inconsistency between nurses and sessions, they told me that I couldn't request or use the same nurses, and that I should tell them myself each session to be more thorough. I felt bitchy doing this and one of the nurses seemed offended when I tried to tell her how I prefer it done. The tattoo has faded, but some sessions are definitely more thorough than others which I think has slowed down the process and relates to why I need more work. I finished my 13th session and went to the desk to ask about next steps and buying more. I told the receptionist that two people had told me that it would cost the same price or less if I needed more than 12 sessions. She first quoted me $139 for 3 more sessions, which is more than I paid before ($46 per session instead of $30). I also asked "what if I only need 2, for example" and she said they only sell them in 3s. Then she got a text from someone and told me never mind, it's actually $89 a session. I was shocked. I was told when signing up that it would be the same price or less, and then told the same thing again a few months back from a different person. Now they are saying that it will cost almost the same price for 3 sessions as it cost me for 12 sessions. I feel lied to. I asked the woman if I could speak to a manager or someone else about this because I was under the assumption that for any additional sessions it would at least be a price match. She said she'd have to call me back. She called, and I unfortunately missed her call. I called back the next business day and she was unavailable, but the woman who answered the phone listened to my situation and said she'd have someone call be back in 30 minutes or less to discuss prices. No one called me back. That was a week ago. I'm upset that after so long they won't easily work with me, and it feels like they are taking advantage when I'd be most desperate (13 sessions in). They also didn't call me back when they said they would. I've been disappointed in the quality of the service due to inconsistencies over time and it is not worth such high prices ($89 a session for 30 seconds!?). And now I'm stuck with a still noticeable tattoo after 3 years and have to figure out what I want to do about it. Overall, I'd be extremely cautious of going to LaserAway for tattoo removal and would look at other options. My sister, as mentioned above, had a great experience here with hair removal. It is too bad that I can't say the same. read more

I've been coming to laser away for about a year now for full body and face treatment. I've seen results everywhere, which is phenomenal--Hair has definitely lessened. I've already done full face, 10 treatments, but it looks like I'll need to do touch ups since I still have some hair growing in on my cheeks, mustache and chin. Which is probably normal because I had a lot of Vaud. I need to thank one of the staff members, Chiara, she has been the reason why I am doing LaserAway and not some other laser removal fasility. She's been really helpful and consistent with helping me making my wish a reality and finally getting laser done! Supporting me since my first visit to the walnut ceeek location, way before I could afford laser. Chiara and I stayed in touch for months until a good deal came out and I was able to get the full face treatment without slaying my bank account. So happy to have gotten laser, the full body is expensive... but it's worth having so much less hair... No more black dots underneath my skin when I shave. I went in on a Sunday which would have been my 7th laser treatment with LaserAway. I checked in at 10:25am, 5 minutes before my appointment time. The receptionist told me to have a seat and make myself comfortable. At 10:45am I ask the receptionist how much longer until I am seen because my family is waiting for me and we have brunch reservations right after my treatment. (Usually, I am seen right away and out in 15 minutes.) She tells me someone should be out in a moment. Another client walks in after me and is brought back immediately. The nurse who did my laser treatment the last time is the one who calls the client back. The receptionist can tell I'm annoyed and basically lies and tells me that nurse doesn't do the treatment I am here for. I knew that was a lie but I don't even entertain it and I continue to wait. I waited for over 30 minutes after my scheduled appointment time. Again, I ask the receptionist how much longer. The receptionist then tells me the nurse who is suppose to do my treatment is having some technical difficulties and should be out in a few minutes. At this point, I tell her I cannot wait any longer. I also expressed to her that I understand that these things are unpredictable but it's important to let your clients know what's going on so we don't feel like we're being dismissed. I am a very reasonable person. If the receptionist would have told me from the very beginning that the nurses were running behind schedule, I would have made changes to my day accordingly. But giving me the run around and making me wait over 30 minutes past my appointment time to tell me that they are experiencing technical difficulties is UNACCEPTABLE. I've invested so much money in laser hair removal and have been so happy with my results with LaserAway. I've referred so many of my friends. Unfortunately they need to improve on their customer service and learn how to respect their client's time. Very dissatisfied customer after having wasted $3000 on laser hair removal services with hardly noticeable results. Would not recommend LaserAway in general, nor this location specifically for the following reasons: 1. LaserAway advertises significant hair loss reduction after 6-8 session. They also force you to attend a "consultation" where you are supposed to be evaluated for efficacy. I paid $3000 for 8 sessions each of Brazilian, under arm and lower legs and could not be less satisfied with my results. Money completely down the drain given I am noticing only a 25% difference in results after 8 full sessions! Scam artists - shame on you. You should have never sold me these services let alone say only 6-8 sessions are necessary!! What are my options? Pay another $2000 to improve to only 50% results? 2. This location specifically has very unreliable equipment that was not able to start without significant "jiggering" to get it to work. On one occasion my treatment was delayed by 15 minutes while a staff member worked to get the laser machine "on". Another time they had to move my room prior to asking me to de-robe due to not being able to start the machine. One of my friends was not so lucky! They forced her to move rooms after she had already taken her clothes off and only had a small towel wrapped around her!! One of the "selling points" from my "consultant" really sold the quality of the equipment. What a joke!! 3. Front desk staff at this location is very unprofessional. On one occasion they only scheduled my Brazilian and under arm appt, and forgot to schedule my legs. Upon my arrival I had no idea and corrected them to let me know what I needed to get done that day. They refused to accommodate me and told me I would need to come back another time for my legs. They blamed the scheduling error on a "new employee" and gave me a too bad so sad attitude. How is that ok?! People are busy, and we also book these appointments 6 weeks out. I have NEVER received such crappy customer service given this was 100% their fault. Rescheduling the legs was a nightmare and I was told I'd be on their immediate call list if they had a cancellation. Guess what - I wasn't!! I was not able to rebook until calling back several times. Just an absolute mess. I will give them credit for eventually comping 1 Brazilian & 1 underarms session, but this is literally the bare minimum they can do especially for being so "dgaf" about providing good customer service. I could not recommend LaserAway less and urge you to try a less chaotic or expensive place like Sev if you're in the area. I've heard great things about them! If only I knew then what I know now...stay far far away! read more

It is extremely hard to get an appointment on the calendar at any of the LaserAway locations. They are booked for weeks to months on end, and it is clear they are totally overbooked. Rather than focusing on their current customers, they are simply focused on bringing in more and more customers, and the window during which you can make an appointment keeps getting pushed further and further out. For such expensive services it seems ridiculous that you need to wait so long to use them and have almost no flexibility for appointment times. read more

This is my first experience getting hair laser removal and I must say, there are no regrets and I think is a great investment for me. I went in for a consultation and they happen to just have a "special" (which was still a little pricey for me), but I went ahead and took advantage. I came in for my first appt. at this place because it's closer to home and I like the area. Being what I consider "close" to home (25-30 min. away w/out traffic and having to cross the bridge), it was worth it considering the appt. itself only took less than 5 min. each visit. Thank goodness I only needed to go every 6-8 weeks! The 1st session I thought worked magic because I didn't see growth after the first couple days and ladies, you know how that is not having to shave underarms even after just 24 hours! . But then after a week a saw a little bit of growth, but we all know after just one session a miracle wasn't going to happen. So at least by my 3rd session, it started to lighten a lot, the bumps were disappearing and it felt really smooth. Hairs were growing but very fine, but I would take that over dark stubbles! Before our recent trip to the Philippines in March, I imagined the heat and not wanting to have to shave EVERY DAY, and the heat...so luckily I have been through 5 sessions before our trip and NEVER worried about shaving! The only gripe I do have with this place is that they don't always pick up the phone (and they're open 7 days a week) when I try to make an appt. or need to change it, never on the same page about how many sessions I've had when I call, and they don't ask to make a future appt. before I leave or if I even want one (is that how it is now)? . Overall, place is nice and the ladies who are doing the lasering (at least the ones I've seen) are friendly and asks if I have questions. read more

Mixed feelings. Everyone at this location is friendly and they will welcome you warmly. I got a great Groupon deal which was IPL photofacial sessions. 2 almost useless (no results or changes at all) sessions and 1 really strong (effective but severely painful) session. I still have redness on my cheek from the last session 7 weeks later. Also they rescheduled my appointments twice due to the machine issues. Fine, I won't complain, I paid such a little money for IPL. But if I were a customer who paid full price, I would be very upset. But anyway, after I finished 3 sessions of photofacial treatment, I kinda wanted to continue my treatment. I contacted them and the sales rep tried hard to convince me to buy clear and brilliant for about $2000 (6 sessions). I know she has to do her job, I even admire her guts to do such pushy sales (I can't, it must be a very stressful job). But. I didn't buy it. Literally. She's a sales rep. She's not an esthetician or RN. She's never seen my skin. She can't decide what the best for me and I can't decide if clear and brilliant is the best option for me OVER THE PHONE. I can't say "sure, I'm not even sure what it is, but here's my $2000." But that's how they roll here. I'm so willing to spend some $$$ for myself. I love to take care of myself. But I decided to use the money somewhere else that is more knowledgeable and personalized. (I have found a great medical skincare place in Concord.) I have chosen SEV over LaserAway that I went to for many years because of the pricing. I love the fact you can schedule your own appointment online. The front desk staff in Walnut Creek is competent but in my opinion could be friendlier instead of robotic when they greet you.
