My birthmark is on the smaller side, so I paid about $600 per appointment. Dr. Alster cannot estimate how many appointments will be required for your goal to be reached; it could be a few, or several. You can stop whenever you're satisfied (or run out of money). She explained that she could reduce my birthmark by about 80%. I stopped after 3 sessions because it was getting to be expensive. While it's lighter, it's certainly still visible. If you decide to pursue laser surgery, manage your expectations. It may require more than one session, and you'll have to wait at least a few weeks between sessions. Don't expect immediate results.
