Came here for early dinner with a friend after work and we were served super quickly in a calm, quiet, and cozy atmosphere. We shared two appetizers and a pasta dish. The fries were crispy and good but pretty standard, while the Brussels sprouts really stood out. The usually sweet veggie was roasted so that the outer layers were crispy and it was coated in a delicious honey balsamic glaze, topped with sprouts. The seafood pappardelle was also delicious, the tikka masala inspired sauce paired really well with the thick noodles and seafood which was cooked perfectly. I thought this place was delicious, maybe not the most authentic Himalayan food and more fusion/inspired, but this is definitely somewhere I'd come back and want to try more dishes. read more

Today we were back to try their newly updated menu.( More affordable) The samosa was the best samosa I ever had it came with 2 delicious dipping sauces. The Chicken Thali was delicious too, maybe it needed a little more salt when eating with steamed rice. My husband enjoyed his Laso Burger so much. He said it was the best burger he ever had. Nepalese masala tea is a must try if you like tea. The aroma and taste were so satisfying. For dessert we had Ras Malai, very interesting dessert and not too sweet. Appetizers prices $5- 8. Main course $8-18. Dessert $4-5. The quality of food is exceptional and the presentation of each dish is very elegant. But most of all, the service was over and beyond. Ming the chef owner came out to greet every table and also explained about Nepalese cuisine. We were so impressed and also admire Ming and his business model when his wife, Dawa told us that their goal of the business is not all about making money, but it is about being a part of the community. They provide affordable quality delicious food for everyone. They reduced the price of their famous Laso Burger to only $8 so people can bring their kids and enjoy great food as a family and not to worry about spending too much money. They also have a cozy corner with a piano and a guitar for anyone who wants to share music and have a great time. Went to Laso tonight to try their new menu and had a wonderful experience. Their menu is more simple, traditional, and way affordable. Between me and hubby we had the steamed veggie momo, chicken thenthuk, burger and mango lassi. Didn't get to take a pic of the mango lassi or burger, but everything was sooo tasty. It was my first time having thenthuk and it was warming and comforting. Everyone we interacted with was so friendly. And our bill came out to less than $40! What a steal! We made reservations for 9 people and were super excited to come to a Nepali fusion restaurant. It was recommended to pre-order so that they would cater to such a large group. Give that we had a big group we thought it was a good idea to pre-order so that we wouldn't have to worry about it after we got there. The restaurant looked cute and simple not a whole lot of decor. We got seated promptly and as soon as we got seated appetizers started arriving. We were kinda confused since not everyone had arrived at the restaurant. All the appetizers arrived within 5 min of being there. Normally I would've been so appreciative of a service like that however I didn't come all the way to Napa for 30 min meal. We made a trip all the way out to Napa for a friends' farewell and felt super rushed. Our entrees arrived immediately after and we were done with a farewell dinner in 40 min. I have never felt this rushed ever. This is not a fast food, it is a fine dining with not a whole lot of fine dining perks. The hospitality as much as I know and expect of a Nepali restaurant to have, it was mediocre at its best. Moving on to food: food was super mediocre as well. We ordered quite a lot of food and honestly nothing stood out. Everything felt like it was pre-made, cold and lacked flavor. Laso was incredible! I was visiting from SF and stopped in for dinner on Saturday night. We tried a variety of starters and entrees and every single dish was delicious. These were probably the best samosas I've ever had. Everything was incredibly well balanced and comforting. The service was also amazing. They were so attentive and kind. It felt like eating at a close family friend's. We doused everything in their various sauces. I wish I could buy bottles of them and use them at home! I can't wait to come back again!! Love-d this place. Supported them from the start! I wish there were occasional menu updates because it's been years now with the exact same dishes. If asked for advice, I'd suggest reprinting menus. Using a pen to increase prices and make alterations is kinda tacky when you do it over and over. Also, paper menus get dirty. They aren't meant to last a lifetime Make sure the "facilities" are clean and stocked, especially when dinner service is just beginning. I've eaten at Michelin restaurants all over the world, and I have to say the food quality and presentation is on that level! We have been at Napa/Sonoma for a few days and this restaurant has been the highlight of our meals. The crispy brussel sprouts were the best we have had in terms of crispy texture, taste, and presentation. The lamb shank was so tender, and the sauce was made with red wine and curry spices. It felt so comforting and elegant at the same time eating this dish. The waiter and owner/chef were all very kind and friendly as well. The owner has literally built this restaurant from the lights to the decorations, and cooks with passion. We had the most wonderful evening at LASO tonight. The food is very fresh and authentically Nepalese, everything was delicious. We got to chat with the owners who are from Nepal, and they could not have been more kind and welcoming. My partner and I had the pleasure of visiting Nepal a few years ago, so it was really fun to get to speak with two people from Nepal and learn about where they grew up. Meant to have completed this review a few months ago. While in the American Canyon area I had a late lunch at this incredible restaurant. It is a family run establishment and on the date of my visit there were only four patrons and two people people working. Sonam Sherpa is the Chef having outstanding culinary expertise and his wife delivers excellent service to their customers. My first dish was lentil soup whose consistency was thinner than I am accustomed to but it's flavors were much more pronounced and varied than expected from the black lentils. My entree was grilled eggplant with winter vegetables on a bed of red quinoa. It was hard to believe that these simple and fresh ingredients can deliver so much nuanced flavors for a delicious meal. Before I left the establishment I made plans to return. Fortunately, I did return a few days later for dinner and had raw oysters with a spicy cocktail sauce and champagne chive mignonette. The entree was Lugsia Curry (lamb shank with a house blend of spices and green peas. It was pleasant to see that the husband and wife team had additional staff supporting the larger number of customers during the dinner service. I was relieved to learn that although they had open this restaurant at the beginning of the Pandemic, they were able to maintain the business by focusing on take out orders and catering services. Came here after golf on a Friday late afternoon/early evening. Normally, Friday night is usually our date night. But today was golf around Napa and a very early dinner. We chose Laso due to proximity to the golf course and its 5-star yelp rating. Needless to say, we were not disappointed. Two appetizers, 3 entrees, 2 deserts, and a bottle of wine for 4 people. They were out of cauliflower soup and I was offered a bean soup which I declined. I had a Caesar salad instead. It was served with the dressing mixed in and without croutons. It was okay but I missed the hint of anchovy, The pork belly was worth all the fat and calories. It's melt in your mouth delish with yummy medium crunch skin. It combined well with the papadum bits and pear. The kulfi was alright. It's not too sweet and I like that it's just the right portion: not too small and not too big you'd thjnk you're being groomed for a heart attack, it was topped with a halved gulab jamun which in itself is a guilty pleasure for me, At first bite I was pretty sure they don't make the GJ in-house. My family and I are fairly new to American Canyon and we finally had the chance to try Laso Restaurant. It exceeded our expectations immensely. I can't believe we have this hidden gem in our neighborhood! We loved the ambiance, to the decor, the drinks and to every item we ordered. We met the owner, Ming. He was so kind and so accommodating to us especially having a 12month old with us. We have never had Nepalese food before and Ming graciously walked us through the menu to help us select our items. During our lunch we learned a lot about the Nepalese culture, the popular dishes in Nepal and just getting into know Ming and his business. They have recently rebranded themselves. I believe it was a fusion restaurant before serving pastas, steak and seafood. With the recent rebranding, Laso now serves only Authentic Nepalese food. Ming told us that his customers' feedback really impacted his decision to rebrand and calibrated his price points. I love that Ming truly values his customers input and feedback. Ming shared that in his recent trip back to Nepal, he explored all the top Nepalese restaurants and observed all the popular dishes the Nepalese locals were eating and revised his entire menu to pay homage to Nepal. Ming told us that most Nepalese restaurants in the Bay Area are heavily Indian fusion but at his restaurant, he offers some dishes that you only get in Nepal or Mt. Everest. After our meal, my husband and I truly felt we had an authentic taste of Nepal. Ming found regulars in us! My friends that had invited me here informed me that everything on the menu is delicious, and they were right! I ordered the pappardelle and it was delicious.
