Just a heads up, this place can get REAL busy during peak times (ie: Friday and Saturday night), so plan your visit accordingly. There are usually 1-2 bartenders who are also acting as servers, so it may take a few extra minutes, but it is well worth the wait. Staff has always been friendly and welcoming. The prices at Starland are considerably more ($8.50 for a 12 oz can) and the VFW is a great pre-game option. The sound in Starland is good, and their layout is one of their biggest strengths; pretty much anywhere you stand you'll have a good view of the stage. It never seems far away. I'm taking off one star, however, because the show I was at (Testament / Overkill / Destruction) was clearly over-sold. I moved around, checked out a few vantage points during the headliner and eventually found a spot with some breathing room, in a raised area by one of the bars. There's also a fairly large bar right at the entrance, so you don't necessarily have to come here for a full meal. I could easily see Mezcal being a great date-night spot or a place to grab drinks and enjoy the atmosphere. There's also plenty of parking in the back, which is always a plus. Overall, I'd definitely come back. Next time, I want to try some of the main dishes. It's a higher-end restaurant, so expect the prices to reflect that, but between the food, atmosphere, service, and presentation, I thought it was well worth the experience.
