    Bar

This bar is located in Crowne Plaza. I came here this past weekend for a friends wedding and was informed by the front desk, the bar closes at 11PM on Friday. Strike 1. So we decided to leave the property and stayed around the Princeton U area since there is nothing around the hotel. Come Saturday afternoon, around 2:30PM, I wanted a pre-drink at the bar before my friends wedding, at alas, the bar was not open. Strike 2. It opens at 4:30PM. Grrr. After our friends wedding was over by 11PM, I was informed that the bar extended its hours to accommodate the large wedding group. so, no strike 3!. Whew. The two bartenders were fast and efficient, handling our group (must have been over 50 people if not more). Only complaint, we asked for chilled fireball shots and they never chilled the shots. Kudos to hotel for extending the bar hours for us. Much appreciated. They must have seen the $$. LOL.

OK, I'm not sure why this place is being marketed the way it is, but this is nothing more than a hotel lobby bar. It is not a center for nightlife, it does not have a great dining scene, and you certainly do NOT need to book a table here on OpenTable to get a spot (although you'll get 1,000 bonus points if you do for some reason). While this is just a lobby bar, it's a pretty good one. The staff are professionals and good at what they do. Drinks are somewhat pricey given the ambiance and location, but the fact that you're in the hotel gives them a bit of a captive audience. The food comes directly from the Forestall Grill's kitchen downstairs, and is pretty hit or miss. We tried a quesadilla (not bad), a tomato, mozzarella and vinaigrette flatbread (excellent) and their wings (awful). The highlight from our two visits was their signature martini flight - 3 samplings of your choice of signature menu martinis. The night we tried this was slow, so the bartender gave us the drinks AND the shakers, making it a tremendous value (and a short night before we headed back to the room!). Other drinks we tried were excellent as well. Drinks weren't made particularly strong, but you weren't being cheated, either. If you're staying in the Crowne Plaza, I wouldn't hesitate to head down to Flight, knock back a few and maybe even play a few games of complimentary pool or table shuffleboard. If you weren't staying there, I can't imagine driving over just for Flight.

Mike and Madison are the shit! Super attentive and make you feel like a local. I've been working here out of town for a month and I look forward to seeing them everyday... And I'm am not an alcoholic. Ps... Madison is sexy as hell. Good god. See you next week

It's a hotel bar. However, it's a hotel bar in a lovely space. But if your fancy drinks menu is consistently filled with misspellings, and the bartender needs to be told that your martini (from the menu) needs to be served in a martini glass, not a highball glass with a ton of ice, beware! The supposed Lillet in the vesper is, i, think, a well Reisling, and the premium brands listed on the menu did not seem to appear in this poorly made, nothing like a Vesper. Disappointing.

I was shocked to discover how much I like this bar. It's inside a hotel so, of course, I thought it would be lame, but my boyfriend and I love this place! The bartender, Kelvin, is hilarious and makes great drinks! No matter what day of the week we come, this place has been lots of fun!

I read the reviews expecting a pleasant experience. Not so mich... This is a hotel lobby bar, and tonight's visit coincided with a convention of rowdy and loud guests. The bar was crowded so I occupied a table not far from the bar. Although the bar was staffed by at least 3 or 4 bartenders, not one left the bar to take my order. I never got to meet any of the so-called spectacular bartenders because they never left the bar.

Madison, Mike and Mercedes were awesome. A group of us arrived late and the kitchen was almost closed. They took great care of us.

$15 for a hamburger? Seriously? Secret hack - McDonalds is just around the corner and has far better quality.

For years I have been boring friends, family and anyone who would listen about the wretched state of service in the US, unfortunately made even more dismal by the pandemic. Well, I'm happy to report that service isn't dead, it's just lounging in the witness protection program at a place called the Perch at Peacock. Service here is as gracious and precise as a metronome and is a welcome respite from the current shambolic state of things on planet earth. And before I forget, the food... almost matching the service which is saying something. I absolutely loved the Restaurant Week Hangar Steak and Tomato Bisque with a finger sandwich of grilled cheese and lobster. Tastes that I'm unlikely to replicate as I return to the assorted diners and dives that are not privy to the safe harbor of witness protection and the unwashed remnants of the one percent. Damn. I almost don't have to say it, an easy five stars.

Sadly, our weekday meal was a disappointment. My friend and I were only one of two parties dining in the restaurant. The menu overall feels old and dated. It features Just the classics, which is fine if executed well, but the execution was seriously lacking. The little gem salad featured pickled cucumbers in a very sharp vinegar sitting next to overdressed, lettuce and kale. It also had very large round carrots, which I think were completely unnecessary. The complimentary bread was brought to the table, warm and featured little mini salads on the side, which was a thoughtful touch. My entree of duck was a substitute for the more exciting braised short ribs mentioned initially. The breast was tough and chewy and the bread crumb on the leg was mushy and not crisp. Desert was our last hope but the flourless cake proved to be a hard, tough dome. Shout out for the kind and thoughtful wait staff! Overall, however, a let down. What a shame! There are too many excellent restaurants in the Princeton area and a clientele that definitely have a global palate so I worry this place might not last.

They sat us in a corner, no breeze and learned their AC and fan has been broken for years. Couple next to us sat down said its too hot and left in less than a minute. We stuck it out and was glad we did. Their take on an amaretto sour was very tart and vibrant, a new favorite. Reisling was nice and sweet. Main course was papardelli, fresh pasta. Fully enjoyed that. Friday special ia chicken parm, was cooked nicely. However when we discussed dessert we just were too hot to have another drink and have dessert which is a shame. Not sure why they haven't fixed this know air issue, they are loosing sales.... What kept it 4 star for us was the wait staff. Jordan was extremely friendly and efficient, as well as the other staff that took care of us. Would love to go back, but maybe in late fall/winter unless they fix their fan/ac issue.

But, I wasn't blown away by any of the courses, unfortunately. The only dish that stood out as being really good were the rice balls. Everything else was just average-and that makes me really sad because I have been looking to try this place FOREVER, especially since we had our wedding reception at their sister restaurant that closed almost twenty years ago--and their food blew me away. Collectively, we ordered calamari- bland, arancini-delicious, crispy eggplant-bland and dry. I ordered the crab agnolotti which was just, well.... bland. My mom's salmon seemed to be cooked well, we asked for medium and that's what she got. The tiramisu was good, and I am not generally a fan. The mocktail that ordered-basil gimlet was a nice balance of sweet and sour. Overall, really giving it a 3.5 but based upon comparison to my other 4 star ratings, I had to bring it down a bit. An overall nice experience, but since the food is the star... I'm not sure if I will return.
