With a little help, it could be a 5 star place. They aren't fabulous on their timing. And some of the food was a little hit-or-miss. BUT, I love this place. It's pretty and funky and a hidden gem. It's got well marked gluten-free options and the servers will help with food allergies as best as they can. I've really enjoyed 90% of the food I've gotten. And also great, there's really something for everyone. So it's a great place to bring people with varying food issues. Good for wheelchair access too, and a lovely patio.

First thing to come to mind is WOW. As soon as you walk in the decor is beautiful. All wooded and very tasteful! They also have two tents outside set up as well. I came here two nights as I was staying at the bed and breakfast attached to the tavern. First night we got the wings and coconut shrimp for an app. Not going to lie the shrimp needed work. I think there wasn't a super thick batter so the shrimp was not crispy as I'm used to. However some people might enjoy that! Seemed fresh and not frozen. The wings were very good. For my meal I got the Cesar salad with chicken 10/10 recommend this salad. Second night we got the fried cheese as an app and I got the Thai salad. Also highly recommend ! We also got the sangria which was very good!! This place is truly a hidden gem. (MAKE A RESERVATION)

Don't come here so I don't have to wait in line. Best food in the upper valley. Quality food thats gentle on the pocket. Amazing rotation of beers on tap. Beer flights with great options. Delicious bar bites appetizers that are super cheap during happy hour. Wednesday wing nights are our favorite. Go get plump actual chicken wings for 50c. Highly recommend the buffalo and Thai Chili. So many other delicious vegetarian and GF options too. Get quality food at a fair price.

We visited Lyme last fall for a friend's wedding, and we stayed in the B&B where Latham House Tavern is located. Prior to the trip I had looked up the tavern, and it seemed like a good spot to grab drinks and food, so following the rehearsal dinner we went there with some folks to keep the party going. We kind of got off on the wrong foot with the bar staff, because we tried to carry cans of beer into the bar. It's not that we wanted to drink the beer we had in hand, we were just looking for a spot to throw the cans away, and as there were no trash cans outside we had no choice but to step into the door with them and ask to throw them away. Though we were only asking to throw the cans into the trash the staff became upset with us for bringing them in the door in the first place. I can see both sides of this, but we honestly weren't trying to do anything wrong. We just didn't want to litter around their establishment. The atmosphere was fine. It's a large space with lots of seating, televisions, and a large bar. The bartender was a little strange. He told us this really odd story about David Duchovny, where basically David Duchovny came into the bar and sat in our exact seats and he sneakily took photos of him all night. It made him seem really creepy. Overall this spot served its purpose though. We all enjoyed some drinks and good conversation, and if I were in the area again I would definitely stop back in.

River Roost is just a brewing facility with a tasting room, so there is no food provided or for sale. However, the place is across the parking lot from Big Fatty's Barbecue for some amazing, out of this world barbecue, Mac & Cheese, and the like. And you can bring it here to munch out while savoring the many beers on draft. And since it's not a restaurants, Fido is welcome. The owner was the attendant on that day and he was quite affable and also knew his beers like the back of his hand. I tried a "Mas Verde" IPA and it was absolutely delicious. Overall a superb time with wonderful people and great beer and superb food from across the street.... The only warning about the area is the parking situation. As the area (which used to be a blighted warehouse and industrial area) has become gentrified and dotted with apartments, the nearby Northern Stage Theatre, and numerous restaurants, parking has become an issue and customers should either arrive early or realize they may have to park several blocks away. But that only shows just how popular this area has become and part of it is River Roost's doing. Great place!!!!!

She was friendly, attentive, and had great recommendations. I don't drink, so i loved that they had NA beers and delicious mocktails - I went with the Lavender Lemonade. They also have one of the best daught beer menus in the upper valley. We split a Caesar salad and the summer harvest burrata, and oh my gosh, the burrata was incredible! We should have ordered 2, and not because of the size but because we were fighting over the last bite! Then we split the short rib risotto and the wild mushroom gnocchi with chicken (Molly's recommendation). They were both delicious! We're still thinking about them. And we had to finish it off with dessert, so we decided on the brownie with ice-cream...it was a perfectly warm and soft brownie - the kind you hope for! 5 stars for the food, the service, and the experience. The location speaks for itself - right next to the Dartmouth green. 10 out of 10 - would recommend for family/friend gatherings or date nights! We also usually stop there before walking to the dartmouth hockey games!

Whether you're in the mood for the buzz of the front bar or the quieter, more relaxed vibe of the back room, Murphy's lets you choose your scene. Sometimes though, particularly under the previous chef, the menu strayed too far from its pub roots, offering dishes that didn't match the spirit of the place - with the weak reviews to match. Thankfully, the new chef has struck the right balance. The current menu delivers all the classic pub favorites you'd expect alongside some more adventurous options. It's got that classic pub energy again; warm, welcoming, and food that feels right at home.

Our waitress was very kind and clearly tried her best to accommodate the entire front of the restaurant on her own - for her first evening on the job, she did a great job. We both enjoyed the specials - salmon with broccoli and rice pilaf, plus I had a delicious beet salad. I enjoyed a refreshing raspberry mocktail, while my friend had THE RUBY SLIPPER--Absolut Ruby Red, elderflower liqueur, grapefruit juice, raspberry puree, and a sugar rim. We waited a bit for our check since I was in a rush to leave to take antihistamines; unfortunately, I discovered there was mustard in the salmon sauce, which I'm allergic to.
