The best onion rings you've ever had.

A wonderful surprise! My son and I stopped in on a whim for dinner. We drove up from Boston to attend a concert at the Opera House, and since Salt Hill Pub is right across the street, it just made sense. We were promptly seated by a pleasant hostess, and greeted by our waiter Hunter (who couldn't have been nicer). The atmosphere is exactly what you might expect: family-friendly, BUSY, and loud in the best way with the sounds of folks having a good time and great food. Speaking of the food, OMG! I heard the onion rings were off the chart, and they are: giant crispy rings with soft onions, and a breading that holds the ring together but is crunchy, light and amazing. Easily the best rings I've ever had. We ordered delicious burgers which were cooked perfectly, and totally balanced with veg and condiments. It really was a perfect burger. The tots were dusted with cheese and rosemary powder. Incredible. It's not really the kind of spot we are able to get to on the regular, but if we are up in that neck of the woods again, it's a must-do. If I were a local, you can bet I would be a frequent flyer. Don't miss out on fantastic food and a great time.

After a half day at the Lebanon Brew Fest, we needed a relaxing "Linner" - too late for lunch but early for dinner. So we came up here and were absolutely delighted. For starters, this Salt Hill has an urban feel, almost European, being next to Colburn Park with a side street blocked to traffic and people ambling by. Then, part of the main street is blocked to traffic and in its place, about 20 feet wide of outside tables and people enjoying themselves. Such a wonderful ambiance. We were tired from the sun so we actually went inside and we were sat by a main window. Service was superb, with my Felafel wrap being tasty and great presentation. And although we didn't have any beer - we were actually "beered out" from the event at the park, we delighted ourselves to see the great menu they had and decided to return soon. Great experience.

Stopped in on a weekday and the pub was bumping! So many families were there and people of all ages. Service was fantastic and the food was hearty and filling. We ordered wings, fish and chips and Guinness Stew. The fish was crispy and not greasy, well seasoned and reminiscent of the fish and chips I have had in Ireland. And the Guinness stew had great flavor. My only wish is that there was more beef. All in all, great spot for a family dinner. Only about 15 mins away from Dartmouth College if you're looking for dinner in the area.

What an awesome place to pop in for a drink and a few apps. The wings were crispy and delicious. The blue cheese was the star of the show! So good and chunky!! The ranch is meh. The fried pickles were pretty good and the restaurant itself was nice in a downtown location. Parking was easy for my winter visit.

Great comfort food spot. Loved the pretzel. They were happy to substitute onion rings for fries. Just a nice takeout experience

Do they have a kids menu?

Yes, pretty typical - mac and cheese, chicken fingers are the only two I remember, but there was nothing startling or different on it

Was looking forward to trying this place for a while. After my experience last night, never again…read more The ambiance was nice Irish pubby look. The service was average to poor likely due to understaffing. We got there and waited and waited to be seated. Finally sat and waited again for our drink order. The Guinness was very good from the tap. The menu was Irish fare so all good.. Had bangers and mash and my friend had beef stew. The 4 sausages were okay but overcooked. A few were blackened. The mashed potatoes were flat out disgusting. They had a weird taste so I don't know how they were made or if they were old from the fridge. The clearly didn't use butter and milk to make it creamy and rich. The side of beans was in a little cup and tasted like they were from a can. No onion gravy that you normally find on this dish. My stomach was doing cartwheels last night and not feeling great this morning. My friend had beef stew and seriously it looked like all gravy. Not hearty at all. He said it was okay. My wife had salmon and she said it was average. Nothing remarkable about it. Too bad.

We came here with good expectations and although overall it was a good visit, some crucial factors…read morewere below standard. The place is immaculate, clean, and antiseptic. The tables are superbly clean. The bathrooms are scrupulously spotless. The bar is perfectly curated and organized. A health inspector here would be sorely disappointed. Cleanest venue I've seen in a long time. The service lacked, however. Right after being ushered to our table with a beautiful outside view, the young waitress started yapping interminably on personal issues with a couple she obviously knew two tables away. We were forgotten. Finally after a good 15 minutes, one of us went to the bar to get menus. The bar waitress came out and bought us menus and gave the young lady a look.... Then the taps were out so in an Irish pub, no slow-poured Guinness. I did get it in the bottle and then had to send the waitress to get a cold glass. Lunch came. Delicious Chicken Moher and my other half a delicious Club Sandwich. Yum The lunch was very good. I would have given five stars. But the initial reception with a lackadaisical waitress tells me that although the pub may be outstanding, they need some better training for their wait staff.
