Excellent venue to hear live comedy. Show lasted a little more than 90 minutes, and performers on the set (including the headliner) were generally very good. Tech staff very helpful: when the mic when out a staff member was there to switch it out. I suspect that the curation of comics is strong here. Most of my reservations refer to the seating arrangement itself - the tables are squished together, and it's hard to sit next to your friends unless you sit across the food table. The choice of food is limited as well; and the wine I had wasn't of greatest quality. But the laughs are good! read more

Drag Bunch was an awesome idea, but very poorly executed. The divas were amazing but the service was horrible. Waitresses were either rude or completely inexperienced, and we waited hours for drinks and food. The food was hard and old, and some people didn't get their brunch until AFTER the show. I saw many negative reviews for this place, so I was a bit nervous, but I had a really great experience. I wasn't held to a minimum purchase standard nor did I wait too long to receive service. There were many waitstaff in all sections to ensure quality service, so I presume they took note of the negative reviews and worked to improve. My only complaint is how close together everyone is seated. It is a bit too intimate for an intimate setting and 300 people in that room is a tad uncomfortable. read more

Went there tonight for Colin Jost. The show started 15-20 minutes late. Wasn't impressed that nobody was checking tickets. Get there early so you can get good seats, the line for the show was enormous 20 minutes to show time. There is someone inside who seats you based on party size like a restaurant. They do have servers inside who bring you drinks which was awesome. They have a decent beer, wine, and cocktail selection. read more

Very small and intimate club located within the Westin waterfront. Had front row and the stage lights were not aiming towards the stage like all venues, but rather aiming down. So the first 3 rows were lit up like a police helicopter spotlight. Very awkward and uncomfortable to enjoy a show. Like tone that junk down people. Also your seats are WAYYYYYY too small and awkwardly close. Legit touching. And lastly you ignorant fools tossed out a customer in front who was interacting and talking to Michael Rappaport and you kicked him out. Completely absurd that MR didn't stand up for him too. Very weird. Probably won't return unless a major headliner. Not a comfortable place. read more

Great service and great show. The bartenders were nice and even suggested an awesome shot called greentea to me and my partner. We came from Jersey and this made us feel at home while here . I attended Laugh Boston for a work event. We had the space rented for a large group. We had a game/ karaoke night and it was a BLAST!! They have endless board games, old school Nintendo and virtual reality games! This is awesome for groups and perfect to lighten the mood. Later in the night we all tried our hand at karaoke. They have a huge library and with some encouragement from the staff, you'll be owning that stage in no time!! A fun night out! read more

The venue could be really nice, but drinks and food was nothing more than basic. The seating of the venue is very intimate and there isn't a bad seat in the house. The show started on time. Went to see Guy B for a Boston Pride event, it would seem Boston doesn't have too much pride when it comes to comedy - maybe 30 people? The waiter was very nice and attentive. The drinks were for lack of a better terms only a means to get white girl wasted - One drink had Swedish fish in it, lol.. the food wasn't worth it as it comes from the hotel restaurant, see my City Bar review for more info. It was the absolutely worst experience I have ever had. Our children gave this to us as a gift. They took us to dinner first then the comedy show. From the moment we entered . Greeted by a women who was not polite ,told us we had to leave our leftovers outside the venue and they would be watched . They were not. They sat unattended for the duration. We ordered drinks , they took 45 minutes to get to us. We arrived 30 minutes early as required. No seats available. After standing for 15 minutes the tables marked reserved were opened up for us. The host who's behind the wall introducing the comedians in the Scalley cap is an absolute dick. Show ended and he was unnecessarily rude to me and the people I was with. Saw the way he spoke to another couple and it was clear to see this is how he treats the people who support local comedy. Completely disappointed at the service. read more

Came here for a 7:30 show last Saturday and had an awesome time! Waiting/ getting in is a bit of a mess, but we made it! We got there early to get front row seats, were told we could wait in the bar while the other show finished, and then were told we had to leave the bar and go wait in line (behind 100 people who got there after us). Needless to say I was like woah woah woah. Anyhow, the show was great, service was quick and friendly.. seats are very crammed in there but that's every comedy club I've ever been to. I'd absolutely go back! Oh and they validate parking if you park at the hotel- for 4 hours it cost $16 as opposed to the $36 they would have charged. Steep! read more

This is a neat venue with so much to offer. I love some good laughs with friends. And it was quite refreshing to be at Laugh Boston and enjoy my first stand up show at this place. The space is not super big. But that is the big positive. It seems like a very intimate set up. Divided into 2 sections, you walk in to see a decent sized bar with some tables with high chairs. They open doors about 30 to 45 minutes before the scheduled show start time. The food / drinks menu is big enough to keep you intrigued - how about Fishbowl called "Man from Nantucket"?? :-) The main room has a small stage with seating arrangements strategically around it. It is first come first serve seating given the size of the venue. The waiters / waitresses are walking around to take your food / drinks order. The lighting is great. The 90 minute show last night was fantastic. The host Will was cheeky. And kept the audience totally engaged. The 2 lead comics Jenny and Emily were simply fantastic. It was a very engaging fun show. Time flew by real fast. No delays in between acts. Thoroughly enjoyed it. This definitely is a great option to go with a large group of friends or with a much smaller group (a date night). And the price is super cheap. Can't beat that!! read more

It's brand new to the area (which was apparent, I don't think the word has gotten out about this place yet as it was maybe about at 1/4 capacity) but we had a great time last night. Comedy: Excellent - laughed a lot. We saw Bobby Collins, whom I had never seen before. He's a great comic. Down to earth, very saavy and interacted with the audience, which always adds a little flair to any set. Food: Light fare, we got a couple apps, they were delicious. Drinks: Right on par for the area ($). Place is clean, hip, and comfortable. This is a GREAT spot for a date. read more

Disclaimer: this place is still relatively new, and there's a chance the 2-star review will become a five-star review in due time. First things first - the place is huge. If you're expecting an intimate Boston comedy club experience, go to Cambridge. This is not the place for you. That being said, there should really be some way to close off the back half of the house if the seats aren't sold. Both times I've been to Laugh Boston, the house was at about 45% capacity, leaving a large number of seats in the back unfilled, which makes it look like there was a lousy turnout, even if there are 80 people there. Speaking as someone who took a turn in the world of standup comedy, this doesn't bode well for comics. If you've been to a really GOOD comedy show, you know that the laughs come from the crowd's energy, not the comic alone, so when the comedian on stage sees a "half empty" house, their jokes suffer, the energy drops, and everyone spends more time looking at the menus than at the stage. Speaking of menus - let's talk about food and drinks. EXPENSIVE! Not out of question for Southie, but more than I was happy to pay. Despite that, I bought a couple glasses of wine and a panini, which were both delicious, however, the waitress came with the wrong drinks for our party, and when we mentioned this to her (twenty minutes later because she was making her rounds), it took another fifteen minutes to get new drinks. At that point, we're already half-way through the show, and when we ordered another round of drinks, she forgot the order - we had to place it again. Not the best service, but I'm going to cut them a break for being new and still pulling it together. Especially since I know the waitress who served us also works at one of my favorite clubs in Cambridge, and she's always spectacular there. Finally, the front desk people. Very kind, but they were unable to find my name on the list of people with tickets at will-call, despite the fact that it was definitely on there and it took me saying my name three times and showing my ID for them to be able to find it... just so you know, my name's not ethnic, or foreign, or in a different language. It's English. Straight out of England. All in all, I've had better experiences at Improv Asylum and in the comedy clubs of Cambridge, so I probably won't be back very soon, but who knows? I came here on a Thursday night to see Heather McDonald live. She is really popular on the west coast and when I went to get tickets, they were relatively cheap for "premium" seating, so I figured ... why not?! The ordering system online was pretty simple. Just don't get this place mixed up with Improv Asylum in the North End (don't know how I did that). Anyway, Laugh Boston is located in the Westin Hotel in the Seaport District. It's very easy to get to if you are driving; if you're not, your best bet is to take a cab or an Uber. Since it was a Thursday evening, parking was relatively simple and the garage was practically empty. I wanted to valet park, but I got there too early for that. Anyway, once you park, you don't have to leave the hotel. Go to MJ O'Connors (like I did) or City Bar and grab a drink or a bite to eat while you wait! The show started at 8 and I decided to stroll over around 7:40/7:45. It was still pretty empty, relatively speaking. I knew the show hadn't sold out. Anyway, I just had to show my ID and my ticket (yay for mobile tickets!) at the door and saunter over to the bar to grab a cocktail. In hindsight, I probably should have gone straight to the host stand to get a table, but oh well. I don't really think there was a bad seat in the house at first glance. Skyy Rasberry vodka and Sprite = $8. No Stoli vodka. Bummer. Getting a table was also relatively organized. Once you showed the host your ticket, you were given a choice of tables. I was flying solo so I wanted something that was off to the side and not totally obvious that I was by myself. I got a table at the front of the stage to the left (stage right). I should have ordered my cocktail then, but instead decided to go for chips and salsa. YOLO? Overall, the show was really fun. I felt bad that it didn't sell out; but once again, you really had to be familiar with E! programming, Chelsea Handler, or the Real Housewives to know who Heather is. There were two local opening comedians, so Heather took the stage around 8:30/8:45 and performed for about an hour give-or-take. She was fantastic! She had the crowd going and we all got a lot of laughs! After the show, since it wasn't a sell out and the club allowed for it, she took pictures with all the fans. Being the book nerd that I am, she even signed a copy of her book I brought with her. Getting out of the show was a little weird. First of all, the automated parking pay machines were not working so we had to cash out at the front lobby. Then, some of the ticket gates weren't working to leave the garage. It was a clusterfuck. You know how some people call 911 to report that they're stuck in a parking garage and they can't get out? Yeah, I contemplated doing that. Would I return to Laugh Boston? Absolutely! It's a fun atmosphere. The staff is really nice, the decor is awesome, and people are there to have a good time. Definitely get a group of friends to go and enjoy! My only complaint is that you want to sit on the left side of the stage (stage right). This is to avoid the noise from outside the club/control room on the right side. read more

I waited 15 minutes to be asked if I wanted anything while servers were walking into my table and saying sorry to me--so they knew I was there. Once my friend arrived and we got water, we had one person come over to say she would be back soon. 10 minutes later we flag someone else down who takes our order for a fishbowl which comes soon after but in a beer pitcher. Did they not account that people at Sh*tfaced Shakespear would want fishbowls? As for the performance, the drunk person seemed to be faking it at the start and then got drunk, so that was a bit of a disappointment--why do you need to fake it? It made me question everything else. It was hard to hear in the back, so the stage should be mic'd or the actors need to throw their voices better. read more

New to town, Laugh Boston is conveniently located inside the Westin Waterfront hotel in Southie. Comedians Jared Freid, Michael Che, and Kofi Thomas brought down the house. Michael had the best jokes, Jared had the best connection with the crowd, and Kofi had the biggest laugh. No drink minimum was enforced, but the drinks that were served were pricey. Avoid the $12 hot dog and go for the Panini instead. My single complaint was that three different servers and the host were unwilling to accommodate my request to sit closer to the stage where there were still open seats. I can understand that most of the workers were new and that there were apparently unadvertised premium seats that cost more, but when I offered to pay the difference and they were still not willing to help, that's when this place went from five stars down to four. That said, the comedy was terrific. I see a bright future for this spot. Boston has always been a comedy town and I see this place as a 617 version of The Stand NYC, a clean new club in New York. I'll always love Nicks, but Laugh Boston gives it a run for the money. read more

I wish I could give this place 3.5 stars but I'll go with 4 and give them the benefit of the doubt. Here's why: Like some others have said, parking is a nightmare. Garage was full and we had to valet. Not a huge deal, but still obnoxious. Then again, it's downtown Boston so whatever. It's to be expected. But, the sound system... In a review about 6 mo ago, someone complained and the manager responded by saying they have since updated the system. But it's still terrible! The mics were cutting in and out, it often sounded muffled and those sitting towards the side have the big speakers above and pointed away from them. To make matters worse, the noise coming from the kitchen or the bar or wherever on the right hand side of the stage (if you're facing the stage) is so terribly loud! Definitely interfered with our ability to hear what was already hard to hear on stage. Bf had to keep asking... What did they say? Huh? And he's not even slightly hard of hearing. THAT SAID: we saw the improv show and it was awesome. Compared to the last improv show we saw in Cambridge, this one was great. Had lots of good laughs (when we could hear). Also, the decor is really cool. Love the vibe of the place and how it's set up. And prices for the seats weren't bad at all. I'd come back, definitely before going to Cambridge but not before going to the Improv in North End first. That one still takes the cake, at least until LB can do something about the sound. read more

I've been here for several shows and always have a great time. The staff are so friendly and always quick and on point with their service. The 'splaining to do' cocktail was awesome, and everything I've tried on the food menu is good. My favorite was the grilled cheese and the hummus plate - they are great plates for sharing and picking at throughout the show. I love that you can order food and drinks throughout the show. This is a great date spot or a place to come with friends for a good night out. I'll definitely be back soon! read more

I went to "show against humanity" last night. I think the funniest joke of the night was having been swindled into paying $25 to go to this pitiful excuse of a show. Went here for Valentines day 2016 to watch the "Cards Against Humanity- valentines day edition" and it was AMAZING! It was my first time ever going to a comedy club. My boyfriend and I arrived on time and the comedy club was self seating. We found seats to the towards the right hand side of the stage. I wasn't sure how the comedians were going to act out "cards against humanity" because some of those cards aren't very appropriate but I think the comedians did a FABULOUS job. I was laughing all night long. There were multiple serves there taking food and beverage order, which was a nice touch. We ended up just getting 2 blue moons for $14 (reasonable for Boston). Recommendations: If you do go to Laugh make sure to go with a good group of friends. Its a great time & go early so you guys get good seats read more

Came here for the all the singles ladies show on a thursday night. it was basically dead for the most part, minus roughly 12 people in the audience. The bartender was horrible @ the bar and quite rude/slow, and then finally after being served we sat down at the venue. the set was pretty eh-- i liked the gay dude from nyc but everyone else told some pretty strange "jokes" on their Plan B experiences. overall, won't be back for anything for anything unless I know its packed and has good reviews. read more

Being a New Yorker at heart with the patience of a starving Labrador retriever, the frustration I experienced on my first visit to the Laugh was almost unbearable and perhaps incomparable. BUT I will be back, and here's why: 1. This was the first time the kitchen had to deal with almost 200 people showing up for a Moth show at 7pm and wanting food. I am assuming when the cooks and waitstaff get their sh*t together in another month there wont be such delays on the food and drink orders. 2. The venue itself is fantastic. comfy seats, everything feels new and clean, and you don't feel as cramped as the Oberon Theater can get. 3. The manager was very aware of the delay in service on the night we were there and was incredibly kind to cover some of our bill. (We did wait over an hour for nachos, that were then really mediocre). For some reason I trust that this guy will whip the place into shape and it will be a solid venue for comedy, Moth shows, etc. I think I might give him a couple months though... read more

FOOD SUCKS!!!! The wrap I got was still partially frozen and everything is served with potato chips? We started with the pretzels that were literally out of a grocery store and thrown in an oven for too long. I've gotten better food at a food truck. The ambience is also horrible. Felt like we were in a bar from college... Too dark and loud rap music from 1990's???. I understand the black theme, but you feel like your in an underground bar located in a basement. The only reason I gave it 2 stars is because the comedians were decent (2 out of the 3 that is). However, one guy was so raunchy I felt like I could have left. And I think my husband is funnier than the opening guy. I don't get it... They have a prime location and have the bones to make it really chic and a destination location. read more

All I can say is DO NOT come to see "All the Single Ladies." One of my good friends adores comedy and who doesn't love a little Beyonce every now and then? That combined, I thought bringing a group here to celebrate my friend's birthday and see the show would be a success. However, what I didn't realize is that the show is completely geared only towards bachelorettes. The space had high top tables and chairs and was half empty. Four men in drag pretend to be galpals at a bachelorette party, and incorporated a lot of audience participation from the real bachelorettes in the house. Cute, fun, I get it. It became very apparent very quickly that there was no structure and no actual comedy happening, only the placating of the bachelorette parties in the audience and a chance for the ladies to get their picture taken and be cheered on by their closest friends as they fake orgasms for the crowd and draw their future hubbys' manhood on poster paper. The show is such a hot mess that they take breaks every 15-20 minutes or so and play a song for all the ladies to get on the floor and jam to, with a loincloth-ed man in a stuffed bear head. You can even talk quietly among yourself throughout the entire thing since (a) it's impossible to hear anything anyway and (b) there is no structure (aka you're not being rude since you're not interrupting anything). Now you may be thinking that since we weren't bachelorettes, that's why we didn't enjoy it. I say neigh to that even still, and here's why: Couldn't hear a thing. Seriously, the sound system was so bad and only half the performers seemed to have operable mics. My friend was graciously called onto stage (since we noted it was her birthday) and had some funny one liners that made the guys (er, "ladies") onstage laugh, but we couldn't even hear her. Food was absolutely awful. Apologies to the chef, but I've had better chips and guac from Trader Joe's. Our buffalo wings were actually cold (not cool) when they arrived. The wine legit was watery, no other word for it. Waiters come back and forth throughout the show to take your continual order and bring your food and drinks. Only redeeming part of the experience was they very helpful and accommodating box office worker who helped me arrange the reservation before we arrived, and the fact that the ordering and payment system that the waitress uses on an ipad makes for a seamless bill-splitting experience.
