This was my first time in downtown Covina and we stopped by to see our friend do some standup comedy. The Laugh Factory stands out for its theater/orchestra style seating. There's private seating/VIP as well as seating on the actual stage. We visited on 9/6 and saw 4 comedians. We really liked the decor, an old art deco design movie theater from many years ago, with a good design and upgrades. The comedians were decent, with Sean Grant being the best one- he went on last. Found parking behind the building at the structure and it was free. My sister invited me to the Laugh Factory to see Erik Rivera. I had no idea who he was, but by the end of the show I was a fan. Hmm, where to begin.. Well it's first come first serve seating so get there early if you want to get seats in closer to the front. Unless you get VIP seats, you go in a separate line that gets to go in first. The place it self was nice, cozy, and kind of cramped. It can get cold so bring a jacket if you get cold easily. This place requires you to buy two things off their menu. Which.. honestly kind of threw me off because you have only one cup holder and if you're not sitting in the front you don't have a table so you if you want to order food then you don't really have space to enjoy your food. But I ended up getting two drinks a $6 virgin margarita and $6 ginger beer. Which I didn't really enjoy having to hold a cold drink in a super cold theatre after coming in from the cold rain. The service was not bad but I heard a server tell some other customers as they were paying that their bill "didn't include tip." I came here a few times for some comedy shows and the comedians always give a good show but the service for the food is very poor. I ordered hummus and pita and I already had 3 drinks before my food came out. Had general admission tickets to see Saturday nights show. As we're lining up to have our tickets collected by Laura we get told we've been upgraded to VIP booth upstairs for free and to follow a gentleman up the stairs to be seated. Opening acts come on, there's a two item minimum we order with our waitress Sarah. She gave us options which were to sit on stage or to sit in the back to watch the show via the TV monitors. The whole show was a sold out so there was no more floor seating and that she said there were 10 other ppl after my group of 4 wait listed for open seats. We bought these tickets to see this show and by poor planning on her part we're now being threatened to get kicked out bc we didn't answer fast enough. We're missing the show and if I wanted to watch the show on TV I could've stayed at home and watch YouTube clips with a better experience. John gave us comp tickets to any other show and gave us 10 percent off our drinks (bc the drink money goes to the comedians). But, not being able to enjoy the show because of their messy bs was annoying. First, we did arrive early. This place is small.... How small is it? I'm 5'3 my husband is 6'2 and even my poor feet got stepped on & Im petite. The service: I really think for a sold out show they could've managed this better. Offer VIP 60 minute head start, allow them drink's food service... then the next rush of orders 30 minutes before show. What they did instead was open doors I believe right at 9pm or 9:30p got slammed with drink order and orders that well, it took a while to get. Your food orders are passed along like an assembly line from the end to you. One women was a bit sassy to the servers because they were talking to her in the show about her food. A hint of sass, "yeah I know" def uncalled for. The waitresses do walk in between narrow paths between the seats, during a show and in most cases bending over in my lap where my husbands hands were. It's not their fault or his just giving a reference of how tight the spacing was. Seating: for general admission even though it's first come first serve. You are directed on where and how to be seated. Observation: VIP- I'd rather be comfortable sitting in the back with a table than in the front, sides of stage, or on the stage. If I'm being honest for a few of the ladies they looked incredibly uncomfortable. The guys didn't mind. personally I don't like too much attention, and sitting in the back at stage level is just the right amount of privacy and engagement for a show here. The prices are pretty decent especially having a 2 item minimum. We ordered two non alcoholic drinks and a chicken wrap. It was good, but nothing special. Covina at night is a bit rough both the people and their lifestyle. I particularly did not feel too safe in the parking structure def A LOT of people just sitting in their cars SUS. This vibe was harmless but came off a tad aggressive. I would def give this place another try knowing how parking is late at night. My lady got tickets for this Sunday for Phil Medina and the location is great venue small but every seat is great location. We were seated on the stage and it was amazing experience. The comedians were excellent and funny as well. The venue is very well kept and very clean. We definitely go again. They two drink minimum and have food of number of choices. This was my first time performing here, and I have never felt so welcomed at a club! The management was incredibly hospitable and kind, even taking the time to show me around before the show. The professionalism of the staff and the way they treat their "Court Jesters" (comics) is truly top-notch. My wife and the 15 friends we invited had nothing but positive feedback about the service and the line-up. They even laughed at my jokes! Was going to give this place 3 stars cause there's big pros but also lots of negatives to the experience. However, getting overcharged on my last visit (no matter the amount, cuz it's a small amount) didn't sit well with me, so it's down to 2 stars. I've been to 4 shows in the last couple months and my biggest take away after 4 shows is: your experience will be largely influenced by where you sit. Let's get into it. PROS: 1. TALENT: I've been to Rene Vaca, Lady Bunny, Concrete and Chona E. Everyone and their openers are always a hit and some do meet and greet after. A+ for the talent. 2. LOCATION: Having a Laugh Factory out of LA traffic and so accessible is such a pro. Parking is easy and DTCo has a lot to offer. 3. [[HIGHLIGHT]]SIZE: The venue is so small that anywhere you sit ON THE BOTTOM, it's gonna be a good view. The GA seats are sufficient.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] 4. STAFF: The staff has always been very attentive and friendly to us. The layout is tough for them and the'yre trying to get 2 orders in for everybody so, we get it. CONS: They all tie in to each other. 1. [[HIGHLIGHT]]LAYOUT: This places biggest downfall is the layout. Which effects the seating, comfort, experience, everything.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Basically, the place was renovated as performing arts theatre in the early 2000s. But it wasn't meant to have wait staff going up and down INTO the aisles taking orders and giving food/drinks. With everyone mandated at least 2 things, you can imagine. Every time the wait staff had to go into an aisle, if a person had long hair in the aisle in front, it was pulled. As much as they staff tries to not, the up and down becomes a big distraction. They're IN the aisles, so it's either blocking a view or you're hearing them take an order. They can't crouch down, there's no space. Sometimes they're trying to take orders from 2 aisles down. 2.[[HIGHLIGHT]]COMFORT: The seats are old, hard to sit on and more than 1 are broken. A lady sat on her seat and yelped cuz it broke when she sat down.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The guy was like "is it broken?" and yelled out at his staff that this seat and another a row below are broken so they don't sit people there. On top of that, they add restaurant style chairs on the sides so if you sit there, you're randomly 3 inch taller than everyone else and there's no cup holders. If you get a drink that is pour over ice, you're holding 2 cups for as long as it takes to finish them. It's giving greedy with no consideration for the experience. 3. [[HIGHLIGHT]]SEATING: Pick your poison. The best experience in terms of distractions is the VIP tables at the front but they cost more and you're gonna get a lot of attention on you.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] GA is affordable but distracting with wait staff, uncomfortable and very hard to get in out for restroom. balcony VIP booths is less distractions more private but the angle is too sharp to see the act unless you're at the edge of the couch, so uncomfortable seating. Any balcony seat beyond the booth, you're watching the monitor. Cant speak on those sniper seats all the way to the edge but they seem the best option, but they're very limited and i think the highest price. LASTLY, the reason it went down a star. I heard them start to close out and they just present the total. So I grabbed the menu and did quick math. The total was higher than estimated, so I took off a little from the tip and got a receipt printed. The root beer is on the menu as $6 but rang up as $8. It's a small amount but it's telling. What else are they potentially jacking up cuz customers are paying blindly. It's dishonesty and I didnt like it. read more

First time coming to this Laugh Factory since they opened and it was for the NYE event. There was a note on the tickets that recommended arriving 30-45 min early so my friend and I arrived at 9pm. Once we got in the door and checked in, we were quickly given someone to walk us to our seats, which were VIP booth in the balcony. He directed us to the bathroom in case we needed it. There were two party hats on the table in front of our booth. One said happy new year as a crown and one was a top hat. All were party favor style material. We placed our orders. I got the Cheese Quesadilla w/Salsa, Guac and chips. I asked for sour cream and the waitress responded with we only have what's on the menu. I was very disappointed as I always eat my quesadilla with sour cream. I think my friend saw my disappointment as I was thinking what should I order instead so she said I saw some on our way to the bathroom. The waitress gave an excuse but then stopped herself and said I'll see what I can do. She did come back with the sour cream and I was very happy about that. The quesadilla was good but burned a little bit on the edges. I also ordered mozzarella sticks and water. They were okay. There is no tap water, they will give you a bottled water with a cup of ice. My friend ordered Crispy Chicken Tender Wrap w/Letteuce, tomato, cucumber. She received chips with it. And she also ordered the buddy buddy brownie and water. She ate all her food so I'm guessing it was alright. The food comes in to-go containers and the stool in front of us to use as a table was small so we kept some food on our laps. Attended the Laugh Factory in downtown Covina. The theater is absolutely beautiful, from the decor to the comfortable seating arrangements. The theater has been restored with high ceilings, chandeliers, velvet drapes, and crown molding throughout the venue. Downstairs on the main level is the Golden Circle in the first two rows and the General Admission seats. Take the elevator or stairs to the balcony where VIP booths and VIP tables are located. There is a cocktail bar on both levels. At our seat was the menu of food and beverages (beer, wine, hard liquor, or juice, soda, water): APPETIZERS (chips & salsa or guacamole, zucchini and mozzarella sticks, or frenchfries); ENTREES (taquitos, rolled flatbread-beef-chicken-veggie, and pizza with a variety of toppings); DESSERT (brownie or chocolate chip cookies); DRINKS (There is a two drink minimum, non-alcoholic do count for meeting this threshold). I had the best first experience when I went in Dec. 2025 to see Willie Bárcena. I got there super early to pick up tickets at the box office. I happen to meet the bartender at the door waiting to be let in. I mentioned to her that I was bummed I paid $200 extra above price for 2 tickets through Tixr when actual price were between $35 - $55 and VIP was not offered through Tixr, come to find out I wasn't aware I had purchased resale tickets. The bartender told me she couldn't promise anything but she would ask if we can get better seats, to my surprise our seats were upgraded and we sat in the VIP area which had not sold out. She didn't have to do that for me all all but I felt that's going out of ones way to make a customer happy. Towards the end, she came to my seat and brought me a glass of wine on her. Decided to attend the Laugh Factory with Jamie Kennedy performing. Was a real good time with friends. We are first at the Lincoln House nearby and walked. Plenty of nearby restaurants to enjoy. Downtown Covina is starting to become a destination. The staff was great and the location is pretty nicely updated. Came here for the first time to see Alfred Robles. We got GA tickets and lined up about 20-30 mins early. Honestly, I'm so shocked at the seats we were given. We were only a couple rows from the stage. I think it's just luck of the draw because as you walk in they take some to the left and some to the right. I think the left goes upstairs and the right stays downstairs. We got lucky with the right. They had a good drink selection, the seats were comfortable and the show was fantastic! Absolutely hilarious host and openers. The staff was also great! read more
