We had to feed a crowd at home recently and Middle Eastern cuisine suited everyone's fancy, so naturally Aladdin's was the call. Using the online ordering system was simple, and the food was ready right on time. My only feedback is that the items don't all clearly describe what you get or how the dish comes, and so I added sauces thinking they came on the side but really came on top, and paid upcharges for things like pita, thinking they didn't come with it but then finding out they did and I just added a lot of extra. I ordered a few shawarma plates, an Aladdin combo, and hummus, falafel, and babaganoush appetizers. Everything was delicious, but some items were a bit surprising. The hummus is was a bit on the loose side, and we actually thought it was tahini from the look, aroma, and flavor. My guess is the batch was made with a bit more tahini than normal. Still good, but surprising. The Aladdin's Combo didn't look as pictured on the website, where it looks like a very sizable portion of meat, with chicken in a reddish marinade. Though the chicken looked similar to shawarma, it was clearly different in flavor, and both it and the koobideh were delicious. I ordered extra meat and had expected it to be outrageously large based on the menu photo of the standard order, but what came was more similar to the photo itself. It was still plenty to share, but I paid additional and didn't seem like I got that much more. The regular portions here are large, like easily feed two people sized. We ordered one plate per person, but in reality could've split them all. Again, I love this spot and chalk this up to learning. I think some folks could get frustrated with this experience, and I def did to an extent, but I enjoy this too much to gripe.

We had a falafel bowl, where the falafels were perfectly cooked. Slightly crunchy, flavorful and not greasy at all. They were served over a bed of rice, coleslaw and tzatziki sauce. Such a perfect combo! Crunchy, light and perfect for a hot summer night. The waffle fries were delicious. Cooked up perfectly. A sprinkling of feta made it better. The best part? The kataifi, which both my grandmother and mother used to make. It was as mouth-wateringly delectable as I remember. Not overly sweet. The slightly sticky crunch will live in my dreams forever. The seasoning could be stronger, but the sauce was flavorful. Basmati rice cooked well and the salad was negligible. Ordered at the checkout and it took a good 10-15 mins for the food to be ready. The inside is still mainly a store but a small dining area with a few tables for sitting down. Would come again to try other dishes for a more conclusive answer.

The food is always some of the best around with one of the cleanest set of offerings you could hope to find on a single menu...! Lots of organic and wholesome choices. I usually go for a lot less carby of a meal, but today I was feeling a Grilled Cheese made their way with several melted cheeses on sourdough with tomatoes and pesto aioli. So delicious! Whether intentional or not, it left us feeling overlooked, uncomfortable, and wondering if we were being treated differently. It was an awful feeling. Eventually, our server came to our table but never apologized for the long wait or acknowledged that we'd been sitting there unattended. By then, the experience had already left a bad impression. I was there with my husband and our three boys, and it was difficult trying to explain why we seemed to be the only table being ignored. Will we come back? NO I'm sure this restaurant has plenty of customers and won't miss one family, but every guest deserves to feel welcomed and valued. A simple greeting or apology would have gone a long way. As for the food, it was good. But good food alone doesn't make up for poor service or for making guests feel like they don't belong. Dining out is about the entire experience, and unfortunately, ours was overwhelmingly disappointing. I'm typically a very generous tipper because I appreciate good service. First off, the location is just plain cool. It's off a side street, inside an office or apartment building (not sure!) and built in under a stairwell that's painted all black. You order through a small window cut into a black wall, and the experience just hits different. The menu is tiny but mighty. I ordered the falafel, which comes with a housemade sauce of your choice, a scoop of the housemade hummus and a selection of delicious pickles (Watch out for the cukes. They spicy!). The falafel are sizeable, fried super crispy, but a bit more dense than those I've had before. These are substantial and a beefy meal, or ample shareable for a few. They're also a super value at $8. I also had the Crimson tea. The Sichuan peppercorn and sweetness were a great surprise. I'm def coming back soon.

They were all so fantastic and so yum. They were so great we went back the next day for their wrap and tacos! The food is so flavorful. When we went it was not to busy. Didn't have to wait super long for our food. The gentleman that took our order was super nice. The dining area looks shared with other businesses. It was clean and well lit. Perfect spot to have lunch or dinner. Highly recommend checking out the fix falafel.
