I don't get to the Midtown location very often, but when I do, I'm glad I came. Located in a little shopping center off Virginia Street it's centrally located in the heart of Reno. Outdoor/Indoor seating is available offering a nice shaded and/or air conditioned dining area. The food is always some of the best around with one of the cleanest set of offerings you could hope to find on a single menu...! Lots of organic and wholesome choices. I usually go for a lot less carby of a meal, but today I was feeling a Grilled Cheese made their way with several melted cheeses on sourdough with tomatoes and pesto aioli. So delicious! I was so excited to try this place after reading so many great reviews, which made our experience even more disappointing. When we arrived, we were seated immediately, which was a great start. The restaurant was busy, but no busier than many other places we've visited. After being seated, however, we waited... and waited... and waited for someone to even acknowledge us. Nothing. During that time, we watched our server attend to several other tables, clear dishes, grab items, and process payments. We also noticed two employees standing near the register. One of them looked over at our table multiple times, so it was obvious they knew we were there. Still, no one came over to greet us or let us know someone would be with us shortly. As we looked around, we realized we were the only Asian family in the restaurant. Whether intentional or not, it left us feeling overlooked, uncomfortable, and wondering if we were being treated differently. It was an awful feeling. Eventually, our server came to our table but never apologized for the long wait or acknowledged that we'd been sitting there unattended. By then, the experience had already left a bad impression. I was there with my husband and our three boys, and it was difficult trying to explain why we seemed to be the only table being ignored. Will we come back? NO I'm sure this restaurant has plenty of customers and won't miss one family, but every guest deserves to feel welcomed and valued. A simple greeting or apology would have gone a long way. As for the food, it was good. But good food alone doesn't make up for poor service or for making guests feel like they don't belong. Dining out is about the entire experience, and unfortunately, ours was overwhelmingly disappointing. I'm typically a very generous tipper because I appreciate good service. However, when a restaurant makes my family feel out of place and overlooked, it's hard to justify leaving anything. Respect and hospitality should be extended to every customer. read more

One of our favorites. They have such a wide variety of delicious food and they put their own unique spin on some classics. I stopped in for an early dinner on Thursday night after a long drive from the Bay Area in heavy rain. I sat at the counter, which wasn't the best choice for atmosphere, but the place came highly recommended by friends. I loved that they have a large menu with plenty of options to choose from. I'm vegetarian, and I love that they have so many options for me, while also offering plenty of choices for my family and friends who aren't. The vegan brekkie burrito was just egg, vegan sausage, organic black beans, potatoes and a smothered in plant based cheese served on an organic tortilla with a homemade salsa. It was filling and tasty. The Breakfast sandwich was the clear winner of the plant based brekkie choices. Best restaurant in Reno, best staff, freshest organic ingredients, undefeated vibes. There's something for everyone at Great Full Gardens, from health nuts to meat eaters. Literally every time I come in, the music is a mood, and it's always just the right one. The place is clean and bright and welcoming. We first visited Great Full Gardens when we were in Reno for vacation in April 2025. As someone with food allergies and celiac, it's the kind of restaurant I dream about. When my husband proposed relocating to Reno from the Bay Area, Great Full was a big selling point. We moved here in September 2025. Reno has everything we love, including this special spot, where you'll find us 1-2/week, minimum! As of March 2026, we've eaten at Great Full at least 50 times, always with great service, and I've never been "glutened," as they take great care with food handling. You already know from the zillion reviews that the food is fresh, tasty, and healthy. It's rare to find a restaurant that serves high quality organic food, and knows how to cook it properly. My faves are the frittata for breakfast, the warm kale salad or Bismarck Pizza for lunch, and Vatapa for dinner. The ahi tuna as an appetizer, or an add on to a salad is an entree sized dish, well priced and is incredible with the sesame crust and wasabi mayo. They have wonderful soups by Gino The Soup Man that you also buy frozen there, or at Whole Foods. Oh, and don't miss the dessert cups, to die for! What makes Great Full Gardens even more special is the staff. Everyone we meet seems happy to be there. Love and care goes into the food, and the way customers are treated. I have no doubt that the positive culture starts at the top. At the midtown location, we've had outstanding service multiple times by Jack, Chelsea and Kay, and most often by Tracy, who's kind of the heartbeat of the whole place, and makes us feel like part of the family. We love Tracy's sense of humor and attention to detail. I think he's been working here since they first opened, or close to it. Tracy, and the whole team are top notch, and always take care of us. Side note, thanks to the chefs for all my special requests! A big thank you to all the wonderful people that make this place hum. In a city full of junk food this place really saved our day and gave us a nourishing meal. It's a funky interior, and the place has soul. She was super kind and patient which is helpful for me because I hate this part of having celiac lol. I went to lunch over the weekend with my girlfriend and we were pleasantly surprised! We both had half a sandwich and a cup of soup. The soup of the day was Coconut Corn Chowder. Okay, I might be pregnant, but I've already eaten the same meal here twice this week--and I'm not even sorry! It's just that good. The pastrami Reuben is amazing. The first time I had it on rye, and this time I tried it on sourdough--both were loaded with meat, perfectly balanced with tangy sauerkraut, and the toast was wonderfully crunchy.
