Went there today 6/10/22 at 4:19pm and they have gone down hill. We used to enjoy them so much we had them cater our wedding. Now we will never go again. The woman at the counter who took my order was nice and friendly. No complaints there. When we sat down at our table it was super sticky and had red drink spilt on it. We moved to another table and it was sticky too with food dropped and dried on it. We used napkins as a placemat. When our food came the server was unsuccessfully trying to balance 4 plates when he could have just taken two trips. He spilt our salad dressing on the ground and never came back to clean it up. I had to hop over it to use the bathroom. When we started tossing our salad there was a huge, thick, long, dark, curly hair in it. I brought it to the counter and it was replaced, however, they should have automatically refunded us but didn't. The food that didn't have hair on it was tasty though. Unfortunately since you pay at the counter I tipped on advance, wish I could have taken it back. If you do go, bring cash and save your tip until the end when you leave. We no longer recommend this restaurant. read more

Great place for vegans and carnivores to sit at the same table!! My green juice was delish!! Love the menu options. Disappointingly, the special plate, Winter Bounty, lacked for the delightful dish I anticipated. Too much sodium and overly-roasted Brussel sprouts (severe drying of the outer leaves) did not sit well on my palate today. Nonetheless I will be back to try other plates!! read more

I've tried this place three times hoping for a better experience each time I've gone there for lunch. I can honestly say each visit was worse than the last in terms of the quality of the food. Firstly, it's way overpriced for the portion sizes. Secondly, I was expecting fresh veggies and some of it was faaar from fresh. Thirdly, I think the chefs overseasoned the food to compensate for the lack of fresh-ness. However, the food is seasoned to the point where it was unedible. The last time I will ever visit, I ordered the Thai bowl- it was like licking a brick of salt, it was terrible and a waste of money and my lunch break. I'm not a picky eater, and could not eat this. They did not give me a refund. I'll never go there again. read more

The Laughing Planet Cafe is full of life & delicious options! Their bowls & their smoothies are to die for! Some of my favorite things would be the green chile burrito, the spanky's bowl, & the pb&j smoothie. So good! I order for pick up mostly, but the dine in spots are rad-visually appealing & clean. Been here couple times, and I love coming here! This is definitely a place for vegans or just people who want to eat healthy. It has a good vibe and big space to have a small hangout with friends. Now I got their special, Sante Fe, like a burrito bowl similar to chipotle's. It's not healthy but it's goooooddd! But for rice/salads bowl, I would recommend thai bowl (if you like spice) or Korean bbq (if you like vinegary taste) Great for lunch! Near UNR campus! Alright. This location is for the university community as the parking situation is not for outsiders at all. I had the veggie chili bowl (because the cup looked like a shot glass amount). That was good--nothing magical. Another time I had the Thai bowl. Sad to say, the flavor/seasoning was MIA. I saw that dish was popular at the Mid town location so I'll try again there. The staff were helpful & adorable (+1/2 star). And there is more space upstairs (+1/2 star) because it feels a bit cramped on the lower level. They could definitely offer cyclical deals or something for the captive university audience. read more

A really great place to eat with a surprising variety of options. The restaurant has a really nice atmosphere and the staff is always a pleasure to talk to. I recommend trying any of the burritos or the Korean BBQ Bowl. There are plenty of vegan and vegetarian options and the cookies are wonderful as well. The only downside is that parking at this location can be difficult if you're not a student. However, they do have delivery options available with apps like Postmates. read more

Most disgusting place I have ever been to. There were dead bugs and dirt caked on their windowsills. I ordered my burrito to go, walking to the table, I noticed, dirty dishes with dried food on them sitting in a bookshelf next to the soda, I just looked away. I sit down and I'm looking around I see the disgusting windowsills, I watched a girl who worked there, wipe the floors with a rag, then proceeded to wipe the countertops! I saw so many health code violations I told them to keep their burrito and I walked out. I've always enjoyed Laughing Planet's food, so trying this location for my first time was a no brainer. The quality of the food was great, as to be expected from previous visits to their Midtown location, but I was pleasantly surprised by the service today. The employee was proactive and apologetic for my meal, which took longer than expected, offering a comped beer upon delivery of my food. Thanks for looking out. I've been eating at laughing planet UNR for years. The unique atmosphere, high quality food and excellent staff has me committed. My favorite go to is the Korean bowl or for a light lunch a cup of the chili and a small highway to kale...yummm. Kendra is usually working when I'm there and has my orders memorized by this point. Had a smoothie with banana and the coconut corn chowder. The chowder was delicious, but the smoothie was disappointing. It was tart due to the pre-made Apple juice used in it. For the price, it wasn't worth it. The person taking the order was fine, not overly helpful. The menu above the counter was a bit confusing to follow for a new guest. They are very quick to get your food out and they handled my no carb request without any problem. Great place to go if you are near campus and want to sit down to a decent lunch quickly. Laughing Planet Cafe is a fun place to eat with a group and the food is fantastic! I am a big fan of the bowls. My favorite is the Harvest Bowl, which has quinoa, black beans, yams, sautéed kale, tempeh, avocado, cilantro-lime slaw, and pumpkin seeds. Their food always tastes so fresh, the staff is friendly, and there is just something about having a toy dinosaur on your table that puts a smile on your face! I've been vegan for almost two years now and was so happy to discover this place! I hadn't had mushroom soup since going vegan since it is usually milk-based. The mushroom soup here is vegan, and it is delicious! I sat outside on the porch with my non-vegan daughter and dog on a beautiful fall day, enjoying the wonderful vegan food Laughing Planet has to offer (I also had the Thai bowl and loved every bite!). I cannot wait to go back and try something else. Seriously, this place is my new favorite! Oh, and the vegan cookies are amazing and huge! I had a snickerdoodle. Excellent food and excellent service. I'm so happy we found this cafe while visiting Reno. It's not just for vegans and vegetarians. They have chicken on the menu. My boyfriend and I both had bowls and all the ingredients were fresh and had great flavor. The tempeh was SO good! The staff were very friendly and helpful with the menu.
