Love this place the hotels has a little beach where you can grill and drink. The pool area was so much fun. We spent all afternoon in the hot tub with other guest it was so much fun will definitely come back it was a great experience. read more

This is a review of the KOA picnic camp grounds. My family and I didn't rent or bring our RV but we did use the picnic area in the back of the rv park both days we were at the avi. the security guards are friendly, I would only suggest to add a bigger grill. the trash was never over flowing.. it was hot as heck but always cheaper to buy food and grill yourself rather then spend money going out to eat. there's was access to water but we couldn't have access to the restroom on site so If we did have to go.. we ended up driving back to the hotel. also we were very fortunate since their were no other grill areas this place easily accommodated my family of 15. read more

the hotel is 1000 years old and all the bathrooms and AC units are falling apart. No EV charger in the property and 100 of electric vehicle people has to drive around to find one. this hotel is giving you a message if you want to stay or leave home. read more

We have stayed here many teams before. Always offers great rates and the river location is great! This weekend there was an elderly lady (manager) who was very rude and made our family feel a little uncomfortable! I originally booked with Alma, she was very nice and offered great customer service! The bathrooms and grounds are definitely not cleaned like in the past! We had 5 rv's with our group and was placed WAY in the back, when the park was never full and had plenty of group spots everywhere. Being backed up to the lagoon was no joke to the mosquito's and raccoons! read more

Great WIFI , clean restrooms and showers. Staff friendly and nice. Only draw back is COVID-19. They are doing to the best to accommodate however casino is limited as well as restaurants. Yes I would stay here again just wish COVID was not a concern. read more

Wide spaces, pull through spots, very clean. Shuttle to casino to use pool, spa and beach. Bummed no campfires :(. WiFi is weak but we didn't use it and were warned. Very accommodating to last minute reservations. KOAs are always pretty nice read more

We have stayed here a half a dozen times. The price is very reasonable and the staff efficient at check in. The bathrooms and showers are always clean and comfortable as is the laundry room. Just note that in my experience the laundry room is always busy. The dog park is small and fenced but has grass, which is nice. The internet is not strong, as is the case in most rv places, but the cable is really good. The sites are level but the entire park is dirt and gravel. One thing I like, that you don't always find, many of the pull- through sites face each other if you are traveling with another party. read more

We just recently stayed here on 3/17,18/2017. The campground was ok, it was all dirt. If you don't like your coach on the dirt you would not want to come here. They did have big sites for big rigs. It was also about 30 min. from the casino strip. I would have liked to have been closer. The AVI casino was the only close casino. The buffet was terrible, we went on the seafood night. My stomach was upset all night. We read on a previous review about the fireworks being loud. The first night which was a Friday they started about 8:30 and ended around 9:30. The second night on Saturday they started at 7:30 and went on for about 2 hrs. Then after that they would shoot them off periodically until about midnight. It was very annoying. If you ask about the fireworks in the office they will tell you they only go for 1 hour which would be fine. If you have dogs it could make them nervous especially when they go on for 2- 4 hours. I would never stay here again! read more

If you come here with dogs you need to know that people stop by the side of the road behind the RV park and set off fireworks nearly all night long every friggin night! Not just any fireworks. Loud fireworks. Extremely loud. I have a feeling that the fireworks come from the gas station in the casino parking lot. So far I've spent every night we've been here trying to keep our golden retrievers from going totally crazy. It's a shame because other than this it's a fairly nice place and close to the casino. Next time we come through here we'll find another RV park. read more

5 Month Stay! First I have to say that people are confused, writing negative hotel reviews on this site which is only for the KOA campground. Also, for those who wrote negative comments about the sand, the dust, the heat, and sparse trees, you're in the DESERT! We retired to Laughlin last year and we purchased a home in Desert Springs on the golf course at the Avi Resort Casino. We remodeled the house and we lived for 5 months at the Avi KOA Journey, in our 5th wheel. PROS: Staff was awesome, especially Alma who learned our names and our preferences and she took great care of us. Our RV spot was large and roomy and we did have 2 trees...because we scouted out the sights on google before we booked and had a few spots in mind when we checked in. The bathrooms were very clean and everything worked great. Having access to the resort pool and beach was a real plus. That area is a total vacation paradise right on the Colorado River. Bike riding through the KOA and over to the casino/beach/pool was easy. The golf course is awesome. I read a few reviews about old units with junk all around and I must say that they are diligent about that now. We didn't see anything like that. CONS: Yes, people buy fireworks at the Avi and set them off pretty much anytime of the day. But with the exception of holidays which have endless fireworks, it was always bearable and usually not that big of an issue as long as you don't have dogs who are afraid of fireworks. During "season" the golf course is very crowded and they are 5+ hour rounds. Overall, we loved living at the KOA Journey! read more

Stayed here a few weeks ago. Decent size slots, no picnic area at campsite, only community areas. Does have an enclosed dog run with grass. Poop bag holders always were out of bags. Make sure you take your own. Able to use hotel facilities such as pool and beach which is very nice. Extremely affordable!! Area is very clean. No propane refills on site. Must go into town for that. read more

This is a wonderful campground, with full hookups. The staff is friendly and made sure we had the perfect camp spot. The sites are wide and spacious, and the rates are very reasonable. We enjoyed taking advantage of the beautiful pool and beach area. We will be returning. read more

staying here about a week this time. Staff at the campground are great, helpful and accommodating. Utilities are perfect, sites are very narrow but good enough. A little trailer trash around the perimeter, but not an issue. Hotel facilities such as pool and Jacuzzi are great and convenient. Price is right, we'll be back! read more

Great staff! Showed up late sat night and Julian the security guard toured us around to find a new spot cuz didn't like the one we booked. Then hooked us up with some co ax cable cuz we forgot ours!!! So nice! Next day Madeline hooked us up with a shuttle to store for ice, then her and Leann took us down to the beach... Rv and Casino were great. Staff is friendly at campground and the staff at the Avi buffet were really helpful and nice. Food selection was overwhelming and very good. Overall nice atmosphere and plenty of room to move around at RV site. read more

They are supposed to have a courtesy shuttle to the casino. We called they said 15 minutes. Half hour later called back they said someone would come. Nobody showed. If you want to be packed in like sardines with your slide out touching the neighbors. And have to walk 1/2 mile to the casino then come here. The valet is a joke. Stay at a real casino instead. Dont waste your money.. sray away from the seafood buffet. Everyone in our party got sick. read more

Clean fairly level gravel sites if a bit narrow,probably explaining the lack of picnic tables. Very pleasant and helpful staff. Terrible cable TV reception... They claim to offer 30 but we only got four in a newly refurbished motorhome That has excellent wiring. Good thing we are not addicted to TV! It is been much nicer read more

If you have a dog that's afraid of fireworks, find another place. Was here for 4 nights and big loud fireworks went off across the highway every night. The first night while my 12 year old dog was trying to escape the perceived battle zone she was in, I called the number provided to contact Security and asked them what was happening because it was clearly written in the rules that fireworks were not allowed. The security guy asked, "Is someone setting them off in the park?" I told him no but they were being set off just outside the park. He then told me he didn't think it would continue for too long. The fireworks never did last past 10:30pm and they were nice to look at but a heads up from the KOA that this went on would have helped us decide whether we wanted to stay here or not. I am not sure but I think the fireworks are being sold at the gas station on the resort's property. Either way, we won't be staying here with our dog again. read more

As others have said the staff and security onsite is great. Made reservation on line campground called to confirm reservation. Arrived on Friday the 16th of October and checked out Sunday the 18th. When we arrived onsite check in was efficient and the agent was very friendly. We chose a back in spot that was next to the golf course. The property and facilities are very clean, and park seems to be well maintained. Now for the downside. If they are going to allow "long term" or resident guests to stay onsite they should have a designated area. As we were getting away for the weekend, the last thing I want to see is a beat up unit with a bunch of trash around it, with kittens and dogs. I don't want to hear arguing and yelling that went on into the night. I almost went to security to see if I could move locations but late at night, and with not the best weather I decided against it. That was the only negative thing about this park. I would return but prior to hooking up and unpacking everything I would check my surroundings as well as my neighbors. read more

Big campground, very reasonably priced. Sites were large but you have to ask for a picnic table or take one from another empty site. There were some permanent residents with junk all around. That has no place at a KOA. Cable connections were very fuzzy; our neighbors had same issue. Bathhouses are well appointed and clean. The casino is clean with a good buffet. Beautiful pool and beach at the resort. One more issue we have noticed when staying there over the years. There are fireworks that are apparently allowed and that can be scary for dogs. We camped with a couple whose dog was terrified by the fireworks so we had to leave a day early. Fireworks should be banned. read more

Nice clean park. The showers very nice. I like that there are shower curtains separating the dressing area. So your clothes don't get wet. Nice staff. The only issue is I wish the spaces were a little bigger, between sites to give more privacy. That would have made 5 stars. But I would definitely come back anyway. read more
