I love yoga and was looking for a place after work to check out…read more The space only has one room and is pretty spacious. If you're new the person at the front will give you a tour. It gets pretty packed fast, everyone is really nice. If you leave a mat or water bottle, they usually have it at lost and found. I hope to come back!

It doesn't feel crammed or stuffy. It is comfortable. I had a membership from mid-Jan 2026 to mid-June 2026. The instructors are friendly and approachable. They greet you and try to check in with you and have small talk. My struggles came with class scheduling and cancellations. I have a full-time job plus 2 small children, so I think my individual situation was difficult to manage with their limited class schedules plus cancellations. I think if you have more flexibility in your day and/or no small children, it wouldn't feel as frustrating lol so maybe my experience is unique. First big inconvenience: Not many Hot Power Fusion classes (HPF). They offer one at 8:30 am and then one at 8:15 pm. The morning one I can't attend as I am at work. The evening one was hard to make because I had to rush home after to get the children ready for bed. But I tried to make the evening ones as much as possible. Would be nice if they offered one more HPF somewhere in the day between the other two. Second big inconvenience: When I first joined there would be many class cancellations due to maintenance. It proved to be quite inconvenient since I work mornings (and could not attend those classes) and then the evening classes would be cancelled due to maintenance. There were times where I would go many days without being able to go into class because of lack of options. Third big inconvenience: In March 2026, they temporarily closed the location down for 4 weeks so that they could make repairs/improvements. I had only been part of the studio for 2 months, so I was very disappointed that I now had no access to it. While it was closed, I was allowed to visit the nearest one in Hermosa beach, but that location is 30 minutes away (assuming no traffic). Which didn't work for me. So, for the time it was closed, I placed my membership on pause. That was frustrating. Fourth big inconvenience: Once it reopened in late April, the studio continued to have many evening cancellations. This time it was due to training (before it was due to maintenance). So again, there were less options to attend class because of these training cancellations. I was very frustrated by my experience here. I really enjoyed class once i was in class but to actually find a class that fit my schedule was difficult. Then when I did find a class, it was often cancelled. It affected the quality of my experience, so I eventually cancelled altogether and found another local studio that works better for me.

Whenever I travel, one of the first things I do is find a local yoga studio because my practice is such an important part of my life. In the last decade, KEFI Yoga is one of only two studios I've found that truly exceeds my expectations. What sets KEFI apart is that it honors both the spiritual roots of yoga and the physical practice. Classes never feel rushed, transactional, or designed solely as exercise. There is a depth and authenticity here that can be hard to find. Every teacher I've taken class with has been knowledgeable, thoughtful, and skilled. I've attended many different classes and have yet to encounter an instructor I wouldn't happily return to. I also deeply appreciate the care and attention that Angel, the owner, has put into every aspect of the studio experience. It's clear that she genuinely understands what makes students feel welcome and cared for. From the slippers and complimentary locks for the lockers to the thoughtful restroom amenities like deodorant and hair ties, every detail has been considered. The lavender towels at the end of class and the tea blends offered at the entrance (not to mention the non-toxic products for sale) elevate the experience even further. Everywhere you look, there are beautiful touches that make the studio feel warm, intentional, and special. It has an almost spa-like atmosphere while still remaining a place where serious practice and hard work happen. The environment simply makes you want to be there. As someone who has practiced for decades, I notice these details, and I appreciate every one of them. Judging by the consistently full classes and devoted community, it's clear I'm not the only one who feels this way. KEFI Yoga is truly something special.

The concerning part is not just the complaints themselves, but the pattern. Different reviewers…read morecontinue describing the exact same issues: poor management responsiveness, lack of accountability, declining class quality and availability, instructor turnover, cancellations with poor communication, clique-like behavior in certain classes, and an overall dismissive customer service culture. When the same concerns appear repeatedly over a long period of time without meaningful improvement, it reflects a leadership problem. For a premium-priced membership, members should not have to deal with frequent class cancellations, instructors abruptly quitting, or reduced schedules. Multiple instructors leaving is also a significant indicator of internal dissatisfaction. High turnover rarely happens in healthy, well-supported environments. Members are paying not only for equipment access, but for consistency, professionalism, and reliable programming. Another major concern repeatedly mentioned is the atmosphere surrounding the Zumba classes. A public gym should never feel socially exclusive or intimidating. Reviews consistently describe clique behavior, territorial attitudes over spots, rude conduct, excessive noise, and instructors allegedly siding with regular groups instead of maintaining professionalism and inclusivity. That is not the type of culture a fitness business should normalize. Operationally, there also appears to be a lack of attention to member experience: canceled classes communicated only through website updates instead of direct notifications, unresolved concerns despite suggestion boxes and reviews, overcrowding issues, members occupying equipment while on phones, and complaints about cleanliness and room conditions between classes. The most disappointing aspect is that these do not appear to be new concerns. They have allegedly been ongoing for months, yet review after review suggests management remains defensive or disengaged rather than solution-oriented. Long-term customer retention cannot thrive under those conditions. People may initially join because the concept of a women's gym is appealing, but retention depends on members feeling respected, heard, welcomed, and valued consistently. Until ownership demonstrates a genuine willingness to address these recurring concerns in a meaningful and proactive way, I cannot support this business and would advise potential members to thoroughly research current experiences before committing financially.

A few improvements I would like to see at the gym are brighter lighting and opportunities to interact with other members hosted events that are not just about recruiting new members but also to inform women about the benefits of weightlifting, nutrition other trends which I believe would be well received.
